Servers were kind, food was pretty good. However I won't be coming back any time soon for a few smaller reasons-mostly seemed like a lot of cutting corners. The coffee was cold. My partner asked for a hotter cup and they said all the coffee was cold. However they of course were happy to brew fresh. They don't have any meatless breakfast meats. In Seattle that was a little surprising! They did have a veggie burger-but only like two other meatless options without having to make accommodations. You won't starve if you don't eat meat, I am just used to most places in Seattle having options. Limited beers on tap, and no tap list on the menu. The server was happy to list the beers but had them on a hand written note that was hard to read. Which isn't something the server did wrong, seems like something management should have put on the menu. Kind of random, but the hand soap in the bathroom was really watered down? And this is just my taste, but I found the ambiance off-putting (lots of American flags lol). Again, not terrible, staff was kind and food was pretty good, just some details I found disappointing!

Came in on a Thursday afternoon. First stop was the bathroom and it was were pretty gross. Definitely outdated adults and no paper towels, just a roll of TP to dry your hands. The toilets were old and the seals were coming apart from the floor. I asked the waitress about a few items on the menu and she had not tried them all so she couldn't give me a recommendation. Took quite a while to get our food after we ordered, probably 40 minutes. I noticed there were only two chefs in the kitchen and maybe that's where the problem is. Food was fine but my quesadilla was low on cheese. Definitely wouldn't come here again unless I have a lot of time to kill and a way to entertain my kids. We couldn't even get a refill of our waters during the waiting time. Overall, the diner feels like it's been thrown together and you can see stains all over the ceilings and the floors are dirty. Both of us who had chicken noticed it was "wet" and later we both felt pretty gross. It could definitely use a renovation, starting with the bathrooms.

AMAZING PORTION SIZES!! We had ordered nachos, burgers, chicken tenders, fries, and a milkshake! Everything was great, the community there was so kind. The servers and chef were very welcoming, everyone had a great time. This is exactly what I had thought when visiting the Great American Diner & Bar! I loved the booth table given with all the decorative paintings.

We love it here but it's become too expensive. Decent service and food but not equal to other options in the junction. Tonight was the worst quality food we've experienced and hope they get back to their roots of great quality food and at a great price.

The Eggs Benedict were subpar. The Coffee was mediocre. I'm a big fan of Eggs Benedict, so that's what I measure the quality of a breakfast place by. My husband liked his omelette, that's why I gave it 3 stars. We won't be back for breakfast, too many other places to try in West Seattle.

The first thing that should be stated is that I simply love prime rib, and it remains my favorite meal of choice. After two "just fair" visits to Great American Diner over the past few years, I saw that prime rib was on the menu at a very reasonable price. I decided to give it a try. The prime rib was a disappointment. It lacked any marbling and had zero flavor. I was also disappointed that a horseradish sauce was not available that would have at least kicked up the flavor. Only straight horseradish, and au jus were available. The au jus was actually quite good, even though I am not an au jus fan. I do need to state that the prime rib was a perfect medium rare as requested. The sautéed vegetables served were inedible. I have stated several times that you can never have enough garlic. Well...you can have too much garlic. Wow. A ridiculous amount of garlic masked any flavor of the vegetables. The baked potato was the best offering on the plate. It was loaded and tasted great.Kaela was a very pleasant server who had excellent timing and was there when ever needed. Kaela also recommended a nice red blend from Washington, Sauce. Very tasty. The atmosphere and vibe just isn't there. The restaurant had 3-5 tables during my visit, but the bar has a regular following of customers that know the employees well. I did hear, often too clearly, one customer, possibly an employee, continually talk loudly about the restaurant and the scheduling etc. This conversation may have been muted if there was some music playing. They also have 3 huge tv screens above the bar...one showing MSNC, one Fox, and one UFC. Really? UFC? I can see why so few people were dining in the restaurant. I am surprised by the 4 rating on Yelp, as I just have not had positive visits. The server did tell me that breakfast and lunch are the main segments of the business.

We called cause the burger my husband ordered thru doordash he asked for it well done and halfway thru his burger it was still raw. We called and the OWNER basically banned us from the restaurant because he said we are never satisfied. BEING A PREGNANT WOMAN I HAVE TO BE REAL CAUTIOUS ABOUT WHAT I EAT, I WOULDNT BE CALLING TO PUT IN A COMPLAINT IF THE COOKS KNEW HOW TO DO THEIR JOB right! If I could give this place zero stars I would and they put wilted lettuce on my burger like what the hell. Beyond disrespectful and I do NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO HERE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE.

Me and my fiancé and future mother-in-law went to this awesome restaurant on the 4th of July! We immediately were seated didn't have to wait for a table at all. Small restaurant, but cozy.l!We were taken care of by our awesome waitress. Diane, who brought us our drinks and took our order. My fiancé and his mom both ordered omelettes with certain things added, and removed from a traditional omelette. I had the grilled ham and cheese with a side salad. After about 20 minutes, we started to wonder what was going on. Was it crowded... No, but there were a lot of people in the restaurant. Come to find out that there were actually five tables ahead of us that still hadn't got their food and they were in front of us. Our awesome waitress Diane kept our drinks refilled and she could start to see that we were getting a little aggravated... Or Hangry!!!Our food arrives and unfortunately my fiancé and his mom's omelettes we're not correct. She just shakes her head and said "Yep I thought that was gonna happen. my sandwich came out perfect so my fiancé said, "please eat, your sugar is tanking and you need to eat" I ate my sandwich and it was delicious! The side salad was wonderful to... Very cold and crisp with lots of dressing and cheddar cheese. The omelettes came to the table and they were huge and my fiancé said his omelette was really good, his mom said her omelette was really good as well! We met the owner Glenn, and he is absolutely amazing, so friendly, so kind, and he actually took a little money off the bill for the omelettes coming out wrong !Despite the long, wait time, the food, and the service are A++++++Give this cute little diner, a try, you will not be disappointed !!!

I really liked the Great American Diner. I recently went there for dinner with my wife and a friend, and we all enjoyed it.The service by the staff was good and they were very friendly. We loved the vibe of the restaurant. It has a very 50s retro diner/classical diner casual vibe. The menu has a lot of options. I had the veggie burger, and the blackened chicken quesadilla minus the chicken as I am vegetarian. It was really good. The veggie burger was very tasty and cooked well. The quesadilla was also delicious. My wife and friend had the Caesar salad and the spinach salad. They both liked them and enjoyed them. For dessert, I had the whiskey bread pudding and it was PHENOMENAL! A very good dessert!Overall, I recommend The Great American Diner and we will be visiting again.

We were hungry so we came to American Diner & Bar. Compared to the outside, the inside was spacious and nice atmosphere. As I waited at the entrance, a lady immediately showed me a seat by the window. First of all, the yellow-green chairs are very comfortable to sit on, lol. There are two menu books, one for breakfast and one for other menus. We went at 2pm, my husband ordered Country fried steak and eggs, I ordered a Guacamole Swiss Bacon Burger w french fries and hot tea. We smiled when we saw the food that was brought to us.I compared the taste and was satisfied. We ate everything, lol. Service was a very good, food was a yummy and nice atmosphere! Definitely we'll be back.
