Decent brunch spot, but watch out for the extremely slow service! Ordered Veggie Omlete with Pancakes and Black CoffeeOverall, the food was good (4/5), but the slow service gets a 3.

This is a tough review because I really wanted this meal to shine - I love a good diner breakfast. But some shortcomings made this less than it could be, so offering feedback in the hopes it can improve.First the good - service was friendly, and fast - perhaps too fast. The pancakes are also solid - fluffy and large. The prices are good for the offered portions, and the place has a nice home style feel.But...several misses. All three of our meals arrived barely lukewarm, which was puzzling as the plates came out reasonably quick. The eggs were just ok (but not warm or hot), and the bacon was crisp but barely warm. Only the pancake was sufficiently warm. The big miss were the hash browns. They looked perfect, nice char/crisp but the insides were not fully cooked and had an odd flavor - like they were spritzed with lemon water. They needed another 5-7 min on the griddle. The biscuits weren't tall/fluffy but more like the flat complimentary ones at a holiday inn breakfast. Coffee was just ok.I'm hoping this was a new cook, as I love a great breakfast. 12th St Cafe nearby is great but they don't serve hash browns, and Lil Jon's in Eastlake is terrific but usually super crowded. Hopefully this diner can step it up because Issaquah needs breakfast options.

We've been wanting to try this spot & finally made it in! We were greeted right away by Diane who took great care of us. The dining area is cozy with booths & tables & is clean & organized. We started with decaf coffee that was typical for a diner- ok. Our friend got a impressive Bloody Mary & we moved on to a mimosa & greyhound- delicious. It took us awhile to decide what to order- there are so many choices. We started with a bowl of clam chowder that was pretty good but then we got the turkey club & turkey melt-absolutely amazing! We got one with fries- so hot & crispy & one with potato salad that was so flavorful. The club had lots of fresh turkey & thick Smokey bacon on grilled sourdough-yum! The grilled turkey was so good too- lots of turkey & cheese on grilled sourdough. The portions were so large we took almost half home! We'll be back to try more of their menu.

The ambiance nice to.Last night we tried the new location in issaquah with our family. Linda is a wonderful server! The restaurant is very quaint, the food was great, it was not busy so very quiet to. A really nice place and great menu variety. I had Turkey melt it was fabulous.

Stumbled upon Great American Diner & Bar looking for a place for dinner. The good reviews made us decide to try it out. We were a bit worried when we found the restaurant completely empty an hour before they closed. Frankly we almost changed minds but so glad we stayed. First the service was great and food came out hot and fresh. We were told they use Macrina Bakery for their bread and make the corned beef fresh in house. Awesome!!!Our family of 4 all enjoyed our meals and found the price to be really reasonable. We will be coming back soon and maybe try their breakfast. We need to support places like this and keep them around!

First time - Amazing experience!!Ever wonder how good a restaurant might be? This place is SO good, I called my mom to tell her about our stellar experience. My husband and I decided to try The Great American Diner this morning for the first time. We have gone to all the breakfast spots in Issaquah, and this is by far the best!! Our experience began when walked into a warm welcome!! We were seated, without a wait, and met our lovely waitress, Linda. The menu is filled with plenty of options, which they serve all day. We ordered our food, and enjoyed the relaxed home-y atmosphere! The food arrived pretty quickly and was delicious. The bacon melts in your mouth, hash browns are cooked to perfection, the eggs delicious, waffle/french toast is amazing!! Might I add, everything is fairly priced, with great quality! The food is fresh and non-greasy, as a person with a sensitive stomach, I felt AMAZING after! From food to service to atmosphere this place is wonderful. My husband and I are making this our regular spot going forward!

Saw this pop ip when I wanted to try a new diner with the kids. We usually go to a regular spot of ours in Issaquah but I convinced to try this one. It's what you expect in the menu all the diner fare. My son felt the pancakes were not his liking and less fluffy. I got an egg dish as did my daughter. Both were okay. Again exactly what I think you'd expect. Decent amount of seating inside and the staff was attentive. Weirdly it wasn't busy at a 10am on a Sunday but got busier as we finished. Parking sucks in downtown Issaquah so keep that in mind.

I want to first thank Glenn for his incredible help in letting us have our celebration at his smaller location. The setup was fantastic. The food was incredible. The service spot on. Through a miscommunication, typically the size of our celebration would be at his larger location. We were down to the last minute when the miscommunication was identified. Glenn was concerned for his regulars, but still able to help us have our celebration. We can't thank you enough for being a fantastic host. Your food was truly yummy. Your service was so very top-notch. Everyone had an amazing and delicious time. This is a great place to go and enjoy. Highly recommend a delicious mimosa with your breakfast!

I had to run a lot of errands in Issaquah and decided to try this restaurant that is new in Issaquah but already has existed in Seattle before. I do not think I ever tried food at the Seattle location.I came in about 9 or 9:30 and I was surprised that the whole restaurant was empty but about 30 minutes, it got much busier. There was one friendly man serving everyone in the dining room and seemed to generally be on top of service and all customers.I ordered corned beef hash with hash browns, poached eggs, English muffin, tomato juice and coffee. The meat part of the corned beef hash was good and size was very good. The bottom hash browns were good and crispy but the upper hash browns with the corned beef seemed undercooked and looked and tasted like spaghetti at first. They wanted to cook the poached egg firmer but I told them I like a runny egg when I have poached eggs. The muffin was perfect. I ordered coffee and V8 or tomato juice. The coffee was very good and brewed well. At first, the man said they had V8 juice but said he had only had tomato juice. Not sure what brand it was but it was not very good. Service was good and the man knew how to check on everyone and needs.Dining room looked retro. I heard the music that was like a retro track and repeated while I was in. Colors nice in the dining room, and I am not sure if it was from the previous restaurant (which I never ate at) but some places needed more cleaning. Benches and tables great, but I saw mirrors on the walls were dirty and all had fingerprints on them. The unisex bathroom had the same issue. It looked like the bathroom needed a paint job and little work but on there, rest was good.
