Okay, a preface that I am not typically a "burger and fries" kinda gal, but you need to pay attention here.A few weeks ago, I had my first and probably LONG overdue experience with Gray's Hall, since I've lived in Southie for over two years now. I was craving a burger, and decided to give them a shot. I figured why not get a double patty while I'm at it.Please believe me when I say this is a massive compliment... Not only coming from a restaurant industry veteran (steakhouses, 3 Michelin, wineries) who is well versed in serious chow, but a former fat kid childhood eating McDonald's several times a week... So here's what I consider a ridiculous compliment and my immediate reaction upon getting this burger home and diving in, I texted my boyfriend: "We have been sleeping on that place Gray's Hall!! OMG it was incredible. It's like... if you took a McDonald's burger and made it with great ingredients and made it really f***ing good... and with a spin on secret sauce. WOW." I first got the burger to go a couple of times, in all it's messy glory of cheese sticking to the paper you get to scrape off and eat... total childhood throwback... But a week or two ago, we finally took a walk and dined in. Holy crap. GET THE CARROTS. The fries were legit the best fries I've ever had. The burger, of course, doesn't disappoint. Service is stellar, and they know how to do hospitality right. Well done, team! We both left absolutely blown away, which is an extreme rarity for us, both being in the industry for so long. The vibe is really cool. It's kind of deceiving when empty, and you think "this is it?", but go for actual dinner and this small place turns into a symphony of life, with a disco ball to top it all off! Amazing.Yesterday, I picked up a couple burgers to go, and as I was handed the bag they said "Thanks for being a super star!" It made what was a pretty stressful day into a great evening. In a matter of two and a half weeks I feel like I've become a regular. I've never had such a fantastic overall experience in the Boston area, and the food is absolutely the star of the show.

This place is amazing! The food here is superb. We ordered the aracini, Brussel sprouts, burrata, shrimp (forgot the name), and a burger. I think out of everything, the burger was meh (still pretty tasty, but just everything else we ordered was 100x better). The wine selection was great and our server was super helpful in narrowing down our choices. The service was amazing, the food and drinks were delicious, and the space was small but cozy! I would hands down come back here again and I personally think it's a great spot for a casual date night or catching up with a friend.

Still thinking about the fried fish from here....not only does this natural wine bar have tasty wine, but their food!!!!I had my first orange wine here and LOVED it. I know it's a common gesture but it was nice to try some of it before receiving the full glass. I thought it was a great drink to have with the food we had like their tuna tartare, arancini, and the fried fish. The fried fish was perfect. I went to another natural wine bar recently and didn't love it as much as I loved Gray's. It's cute and cozy inside with the warm tones- I love the vibes inside. It's not the biggest space but there's also seats outside if anything. The bar is a beaut!!I made a rez but walk ins are def doable. It's super casual, so if you're ever in a little wine drinky mood, stopping by here is the answer. I will be back!!

This is such a great wine bar if your looking for delicious food and natural wine. I came her on a Wednesday to visit friends and had such a great time on the p. The service was exceptional and she took her time to explain the wine and let us try to make sure we liked what we were getting. For food we got the gray's board and the brussel sprout. The soft cheese on the board was sooo good and it comes with fresh toasted bread which is delicious. The brussel sprouts were my favorite though, they were so creamy and I will for sure get them again.

By far the best wine bar in Boston! As a wine lover and someone who is in the industry I appreciate what Gray's Hall had to offer: small bites, all natural wines (which you don't see much around town), lively atmosphere, excellent staff who truly cares about your dining experience. This is one for the books and in my top 5 places to visit while in Boston. Or, if you are a local definitely come check this place out for sure. Matt, one of the owners is extremely friendly and hospitable. They opened in December 2019 (right before the pandemic) and also own American Provisions next door, which I have not checked out yet, but will be soon. Some of the wines they pour at Gray's can be found here. I can't wait to return with some of my wine gals! Cheers and happy sipping!

I had dinner at Gray's Hall with a group of friends recently to celebrate a birthday. Overall we had a delicious meal and a great experience. First of all I need to applaud the wine selection. There are so few restaurants and bars in Boston that actually have a robust and diverse wine list with a good variety of options by the glass, by the full bottle, at different price points, and from all over the world (not just California wines). I had the Negroamaro which was fantastic and my other most wine oriented friend loved her Grenache. I was especially pleased to see that they have orange wines on the menu. I'll have to come back to enjoy those in the warmer months. It's a small plates restaurant where you're intended to share everything with the group. Favorites were the butternut squash arancini, burrata eggplant, brussels sprouts, tuna crudo, and hanger steak. There wasn't any food we didn't enjoy, but the cheese/charcuterie board, pretzel baguette, potatoes, and carrots are the items I was least wowed by and would consider skipping on a future visit in favor of trying more of the menu. We had one picky eater in our group who got the smashed burger and loved it. One slightly off note was kind of weird/inconsistent service. I felt like our server stopped by the table super frequently for a while, then not at all for a long while, so it was a bit all over the place. It also took a long time to pay. Eventually I just brought my credit card to the bar cause no one came to bring us a bill. Overall it was a great dinner and I look forward to returning!
