They had quality live Maine lobster when I couldn't find it elsewhere. They were knowledgeable and gave cooking recipes as well as info on the difference between male and females.

What a funny place. Had I not gotten a recommendation from a friend, I would have missed out on this gem. Lobsters were $30 each for a 1.5lb lobster when I came in ON NYE, but it was a special treat. Highly recommend. Don't be deterred by the wallpaper for sale. Funny combo business, in what I assume is a husband & wife group.

We are originally from Massachusettes so we REALLY appreciate the Maine lobsters at Gour. My Dad insists on them for his birthday and Father's Day. They are the BEST in San Diego. My entire family is very happy twice a year!!! THANK YOU.

We are so lucky that this restaurant is around the corner from our home.. we have walked by this gem a hundred times and decided to go for our anniversary. We chose the pre fixe, which makes the most sense if you're wanting to sample the menu. Dana was our server, service here is incredible and they guide you through each course with the attention you want, without over doing it. She was knowledgeable and attentive, without being overwhelming. I fell in love with this restaurant. Don't walk by w/o popping in :)

Great resource for live Maine lobster. They make it easy by sourcing the lobster direct from Maine and holding it in their tank until you're ready to pick it up.

I spoke to Dave at Gour Maine lobster FRIDAY morning 9-20-21, wanting to be certain that their rare yellow lobster, named Larry, would be going to a fine home--Sea World is giving the yellow lobster a fine home in his own special tank. Dave is donating the male yellow lobster and a female lobster to keep him company, so maybe many new Larrys and Lorettas will be created. Dave is driving the two lobsters to Sea World on Monday the 13th September and donating the lobsters!! Dave and Gour Maine Lobster deserve applausefor preserving Larry!! Three cheers. Thanks. Larry David Greenfield and Carol A. Greenfield--we both believe in preserving incredible creatures in nature.

4 stars for now. I want to see how it holds up but lobster season is pretty much over (going by the "months that have an "r' in them adage.) If they're consistent I'll give them 5. 1) until this place, every Maine lobster I've had in S.D., for decades, has sucked. I grew up in the N.E. They're supposed to be sweet but they haven't been (in S.D.). Wonderful. I'm happy to pay $22/lb for a good lobster for a change.2) This is the weirdest place ever. It is a live lobster and wallpaper (and crafts?) store. They said it's the only one in the world. I'll take them at their word. They don't sell any other food. They don't sell cooked lobster. They have a small tank of live lobsters and that's it for lobsters. though they also sell lobster cooking pots. There is no synergy. The lobsters are not trained to select or put up wallpaper. The wallpaper is not lobster themed. I don't think there are any deals where you buy wallpaper or lobsters and get a discount on the other.3) Parking - So, this is across the street, a bit east, from the Barnett (aka Lyton) entrance to Liberty station. Parking is a bit east of the store. Directly east of the store, right next to the store, is some sort of small parking lot but it seems to be closed. However, there's an alley directly east of that which they say I could have pulled into. I missed that and ended up parking on a side street to the west of that block of stores.
