These previous reviews are petty and ridiculous. Gorin's is a solid consistent breakfast and lunch spot. The almond chicken melt is reminiscent of the sandwich we used to eat in the old days. There are daily lunch specials to add variety. The salad bar is always filled with fresh ingredients. Great lunch spot if you are in the Cumberland/Galleria area.

Breakfast is OK but for the most part it is disgusting, added to the fact that prices just increased across the board. It's basically a trap for office workers who don't have time to go out for lunch due to hectic work days. Almost anything in the area is better prepared and better value. The staff is fairly friendly while overcharging you.Update: Totally disgusting. You'd think they could at least cook french fries without screwing them up. Though it didn't seem possible, this place has gone downhill.

Reasonable prices but the chef is terrible. He doesn't pay attention when you are ordering and gives you a hard time to correct it. You need a chef upgrade!

The restaurant also has fresh salad bar, as well as self-serve fountain drinks. Lots of selections!

I'm writing this because I can not find someone to talk to this about in the Gorins business besides their employees. I work at the Galleria, and we LOVE going to Gorins for lunch or a quick snack, they really have some great food! However, I've noticed that over the last few months that despite the fact that their sign says that they close at 3:30, if you are not there by 2:30, you will NOT get served. I walked in today at 2:49, and the entire kitchen was broken down, the hot serving station was completely cleared out, they no longer had ANY of the "Special of the Day" signs up, nothing. So I walked up and asked "I thought you guys closed at 3:30?" In which the guy responded to me, "well we have to clean the grill so we stop serving at 2:45" I asked "well why does your sign say 3:30? Shouldn't you wait til 3:30 to start cleaning that stuff? I worked in a restaurant most of my life and if we refused service 1 minute before we closed you could lose your job" he said "well if we waited til 3:30 to start cleaning we would leave until 4:00, and that's because that was a company" so I replied "well that's how it's supposed to be, you are in the food industry you don't get to leave as soon as the establishment closes" he then said "well we stop serving hot food at 3:00, and serve cold items, such as sandwiches and salads from 3:00-3:30" so then of course I asked "then why is it that I can't order my wrap since it's not 3:00 yet?" He goes "I mean that's in 5 minutes" and I said "yes, exactly I should have 5 more minutes to be able to order whatever I want off the menu" and then I left. If Gorins employees want to be OUT of there by 3:30, they need to advertise that they close at 2:45 not 3:30. I am really bothered by this, because I am SURE that if another restaurant was offered the opportunity to open up in that space, they would do EVERYTHING to make sure they took care of ALL their customers, even IF they were about to ACTUALLY close (ie: 3:25). Someone from corporate or management needs to know that this is happening and rectify it, because it's not right. I would love to eat there everyday again, but will not support this business until they change the way they are running things.
