Gordon Ramsay Burger

The food, service, and ambiance were all awesome! Our server, Alyse, was so great, too.

Here's the deal. The real deal. The food is on point across the board. It really is and anyone complaining about it is either full of sh*t or over-demanding.The only real issue that I've experienced since they'd opened is the service. Long waits along with silly miscues by the servers. For example, when refilling an iced tea, you should either pour a fresh on with new ice or make sure that a refill comes with MORE ice instead of pouring over melted or evaporated ice.

We went to Gordon Ramsay burger today in Chicago. We are loyal customers. We don't live in Illinois, both always go when we visit Chicago. But we will not be back. We were told there was a 35 min wait when we checked in at 2:40pm on a Saturday. But we found a 2:45pm reservation online so we took it and were seated in 5 min. However, we received our food 40 min later. The truffle fries are $12 and they give you a handful of fries. The fries are 1/3 of the size they used to be, reported due to corporate changes. The burger size is still decent for now, until corporate makes make cuts. Next time we crave a burger, we'll be going to Au Cheval.

We had a great experience with Kevin as our waiter. I was able to make a reservation less than a day in advance to celebrate my husband and my anniversary. They gave us a cute small vanilla shake to celebrate. We both loved the street corn dip. The salty chips complemented the sweetness of the dip. The burgers were great, and they were able to put mine in a gluten free bun, which was bigger than the ones I could buy at the store. We also loved the incorporation of "idiot sandwich" between the burgers and the trays. Honestly, A+ marketing. Service was fast, and we liked that they had the windows open so we could enjoy the air and breeze.

Unfortunately, it seems like GRB has declined in terms of service. While the food remains delicious, my recent experience was disappointing.I visited for lunch with my parents, who were in town and eager to try the restaurant based on my recommendation. The place was quite dirty. Upon being seated, we noticed several uncleared tables, including the one next to ours. Despite requesting our server to clear it, the table remained dirty for about 30-40 minutes, and the server seemed irritated by my request.I ordered a Modelo draft with lime but was served an IPA. When I asked for the correct beer, I received a Modelo bottle without lime. By that point, I didn't bother to follow up. Another server who assisted us was quite nice, but our main server's attitude and mistakes negatively impacted our experience.The restaurant was generally unclean, and the manager, who was present, did not seem engaged. He never checked on us or walked around to see how guests were doing, which gave the impression that the lunch service was being phoned in. Notably, there were only about 10 tables being served, so it wasn't busy.Despite the poor service, the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the onion rings, my burger was great, and my parents loved their sandwich. However, given the high prices, excellent service and cleanliness are essential, and GRB fell short this time. It's hard to say I'll return unless someone else insists. There are many other great burger places in the city that offer better value.

Food Service Ambiance Unfortunately I'm basing this on five other GR restaurants that I have been to, so forgive my bias. I felt like I walked into a Chuckie Cheese restaurant! Kids running around, nobody talking to the families about the behavior of their children, or anything. Again, I base this from the ZgR Burgr in Vegas. Which is a 5 , top notch restaurant. That is what I was expecting, and did not receive. Our server took our order, but failed to put it in until 10/15 min later. Due to his negligence, we were comp'd our meal (not impressed), and a dessert as well. We will not be going back though. And hopefully his new openings are better than this one.

Gordon Ramsay is one of my wife's favorite celebrity chefs. We've been watching him for years on Next Level Chef and Hell's kitchen. So whenever I have the opportunity to check out one of his restaurants, I love to go! (Las Vegas is a Ramsay dining group mecca - and I've almost tried them all) It's been on my list to try Gordon Burger in Chicago and my wife and I have a place just a few blocks away. The first thing you'll notice is that everything in this restaurant is spotless, and they pride themselves on keeping everything very clean. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted and had my order taken. Drinks were fantastic. I ordered the nashville chicken and fries (which you have to order separate) and the ketchup tasted smoked - just incredible. The Nashville chicken sandwich was hot but not too hot spice wise. I'll definitely be back - this place has a sports bar vibe and is right up my alley! One of these days I'd love to meet Gordon in person!

Had dinner here and the onion rings, burgers, and cocktails we ordered were all amazing. The onion rings are huge and comes with this extra zesty, homemade ranch sauce for dipping. My friend got the brunch burger, which looked absolutely delicious, and I got the Idiot Burger. The idiot burger has prime rib instead of ground beef, and that made the taste unique. It comes with a tomato chutney sauce that sort of cooled the burger off, but it tasted superb. Our waiter was so sweet, helpful, and welcoming. The atmosphere here is definitely laidback and family oriented. Definitely a must visit when coming to Chicago.

Burgers were amazing, perfect ratio of bun to condiments artfully done. Christian our server was excellent. A great experience overall!

Alyse did a fantastic job and was very helpful.The food was excellent! Delicious hamburgers cooked just the way we requested.The music was a little loud for us, but it didn't stop us from enjoying our food. Can't wait to go back!
