Gordo’s Tacos

Drove across town for this based on reviews. Not open even though advertised. Employee was tooling around in the back and ignored me being outside so I eventually left. I'll change my score if I get a chance to try the food, but with so many solid options for Mexican food out there not sure why I would put in the effort for a :0 minute drive.

While the food is good. The customer service is lacking. When our food came out I was a little confused because we had 1 extra taco we hadn't ordered. When I questioned this and let the young girl know I didn't order the extra taco, she insisted I did. She obviously didn't pick up on the confusion on my face when I told her I had ordered guacamole and she blatantly stated I didn't I ordered a taco and walked away. Stupid me for not getting a receipt this time around - 5 tacos (1 of which I didn't order) , a Mexican street corn, a bottle of sprite and water totaled a whopping $45ish dollars. We came on taco Tuesday which she made clear that if we ordered the tacos they were smaller than usual for taco Tuesday. So they discount the tacos by a $1 but also make them smaller . And we also learned that extra salsa is $.50 a piece. The same size salsa Filiberto's gives out for free. Mind you, we only got 1 salsa for 5 tacos which is why we had asked for an extra one. Unfortunately, the good food doesn't make up for the lack of customer service. No hello welcome, no thank you, no apology for getting our order incorrect, no nothing. We probably won't be back. There are other great tacos spots in the area with better service. Usually 3rd times a charm but for us it wasn't.

This food was so amazing, I mean I am in disbelief that everything I ate was delicious, you get quality, freshness and taste. This place was so fresh I felt like my Tia made it. Tasted like homemade but better, tastier. Crunchy taco with no grease, soft corn tortillas, melting in your mouth, cheesy Birria that was flavorful and melted on your tongue with so much flavor. Light but right flavors, nothing felt heavy or greasy. I had to try everything. The service was great, amazing customer service and lots of patience. The ambiance was COOL!! Amazing ART. I enjoy everything about this place even the music, I wanted to dance in my seat. I can't wait to come back again and again so I can try all the items. The CHOCOFLAN was so good. I was so happy! The prices are higher than most places but you can't compare for the quality, freshness or taste! It's worth every penny.

This is my 3rd trip to Gordos since they opened and I have to say the quality has already gone down hill. The Chipotle chicken burrito was all rice, no chicken for $15. The tacos are good, but I see the avocado sauce or guacamole is less than a teaspoonful on the barria taco.

I'll admit I rolled my eyes when I saw yet another taco place open. If we're not lacking for one thing in Ahwatukee, it's tacos. That said, we all love tacos so there's got to be a market for them! And seeing as how I'm required by law to sample the tacos at any new establishment near my home, I found myself in Gordo's Tacos this week for lunch. The interior is standard fast casual with enough seating for when I was there but not much overall. I could see it easily filling up during lunch or dinner hours. I was a little miffed to see the taco prices are around $5-$6 per taco. That's a step price so I was expecting them to be great. I'm happy to report they definitely were great but I do hope they work on bringing that price in. They were large, had plenty of meat and two tacos did not leave me hungry. The birra was exceptional. I look forward to coming back and trying out some other menu items.

Awesome. The breakfast taco is mind blowing. The carne asada is great on the corn tortilla. The quesabirria is one of the best. My only cons are the horchata(it's not good) and that it's very pricey. But worth it

I liked the place so I can see what the buzz was about in the 411 Facebook group. Service was five star. It's a nice clean new place with plenty of seating. All the tables were clean.They serve Coke product but no fountain. Cans only I got a carne asada taco which was really good. I mean much better than all the other local taco joints. I won't name them but including the place from DDD sorry Guy.My wife had a pork taco she loved it.I did not like the crispy taco. And I really disliked the Mexican street corn. Nothing wrong just my taste. Clearly everything is freshly made which I appreciate.The corn had a very sharp cheese which was my issue but I think there are a lot of people who like it that way. I wish I had known before I ordered because I ended up leaving hungry I highly recommend everyone try this place if you love Mexican food

Absolutely delicious! Escogimos un poquito de todo... Tacos al pastor, carne asada, quesabirria , y taco de camarón!!!! Amazing!!! También ordenamos el 'Nacho Libre' con carne asada- speechless. 10/10 must try. Everything tastes hecho en casa. The interior was fun and pretty cool. Bright colors representing la cultura mexicana. Very clean and the service was quick & easy. Very friendly staff. Happy they are close to home making it very convenient to dine in or out. Bienvenidos a Ahwatukee 'Gordos Tacos'.

I wanted to try a new spot for Taco Tuesday and I think I found a new favorite to share with the world. Relaxed and welcoming environment when you walk in. Welcoming and helpful staff after I told them it was my first time in. I got a few different tacos and they were all good and full of flavor. The Baja Fish was a little too salty for me but still good. The Cooks Taco was really good, had a nice texture with crunch, flavor and some heat from the fresh jalapeños. The Quesabirria were my favorite. Full of meat, cheese, and flavor by themselves. Then I added some lime, green salsa, and dipped it in the Consomé. I will definitely be back soon and telling everyone to go try them out. Definitely #FoodJones approved and I need to do a full review video soon.

Go for Taco Tuesday! Lots of options for $3 street tacos. We enjoy the carne asada, chicken Tinga, and crispy shrimp ones the most. Sometimes they have flour tortillas, but you have to ask. The restaurant is decorated nicely. Lots of culture and cool decor to look at while you wait. The only complaint I have is the kids meal is priced at $10. That's expensive for a kids meal. Otherwise, it's a good place to check out!
