Love the seats that open to put your purse or jacket inside just like Korea! We had the marinated and unmarinated small and large intestines, the smaller ones are better in my opinion. It's quite oily and your jaw hurts from all the chewing after. Get the fried rice with seaweed to cook after you eat the intestines. The cold noodles was very light but flavorful, delicious! Unfortunately we did not enjoy the raw crabs here. The tofu soup was the perfect amount of spice. Good place to drink with friends and eat some drinking food. They were playing American hip hop music while we there.

I love it here. Large spacious location with lots of seating. Street parking is required to get here and can be a hassle to find sometimes. Great ambiance with dimmed lighting, chill kpop music, and the perfect temperature. Ventilation is good here since they can also open up the windows, so I've never had to worry about going home smelling like Gopchang haha. From my 3 experiences, service is kind of slow and not as attentive as I would expect for good service. But the staff is so nice and help cook for you! Food takes awhile to be served, but the wait is worth it.Food here is so tasty! Portions are huge, like I think the two person serving can even feed 3-4! Our favorite to order are the large intestines! Also comes out perfectly chewy and grilled. The Mala is super flavorful with a kick of heat! So good with the added kimchi fried rice and eggs. The star of the show here is the Seafood pancake, which is so far the best I've had as it's chewy, but also crispy at the same time and stuffed with seafood and veggies! I still drool thinking about the seafood pancake. Only downside I have about the food is that it's super oily (from the intestines) and I always leave with a stomachache! So this isn't really by preferred location to eat out! Thus, I wouldn't come too often, but I definitely recommend Gopchang at least once if you like intestines!

Man if you like intestines (large, small and entrails ) this is the spot. The spicy marinated version had good flavor. Note you do have to order at least 2 portions of intestines, one i believe they prep on kitchen for you the other you grill yourself but i could be wrong i was a bit confused as to what was going on haha. The raw spicy crab was good imo, squeeze and go to town.Unless you can put down a lot of food for 2 ppl, i recommend bringing couple extra friends and grab some soju and eat. We were overwhelmed with just two of us.Heating up next day it was too oily and chewy to enjoy so ended up tossing the leftovers.

Great atmosphere to go with friends Quite authentic korean style restaurant-Food: Assorted gui was great. Staffs cooked for us while we were waiting. They were friendly and nice. The intestines were thoroughly cooked- very crunchyStir fried rice: Also cooked by the staff. They put way too much nori but other than that, it was nicely cooked. Great flavor with kimchi and oil from served beef/intestinesBanchan: great options and varieties. Wish the kimchi to be less dry but it wasn't bad to have with juicy intestines

Gopchang Story has so much potential to be an amazing restaurant since it is a popular Korean chain and serves great food and is relatively new. The one frustrating part about this place is the service. Since it says they close at 12 I called around 9:30 PM to ask when the kitchen closes to make sure I am not coming right before they close. They said last call is at 11:05 so I came as early as I could which was a little bit before 10:30 and the female employee at the front said their kitchen was closing in two minutes. I said I had just called and they said 11:05 and the way she reacted was my first sign that she was not telling the truth. The next thing that I noticed was that we sat down and immediately decided what we wanted. It was several minutes after 10:30 when she said the "kitchen closed" and no one came to get our order. On top of that another employee came around 11 PM to do last call for food and other people were ordering after us, which leads me to assume the female employee was lying. I understand if restaurants close early but to have one employee lie about the kitchen closing so she can go home leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The food here was really good but we felt rushed and the only employee that was friendly was the male employee who told me the correct kitchen closing time over the phone. The other female employees clearly did not want to be working. The pork belly with kimchi was great but I wish the pork was cooked slightly more crispy. The banchan was good but we felt too uncomfortable to ask for more. Egg fried rice was okay but the bulgogi hotpot was really good. The broth was so savory with so much meat and glass noodles. The food here I would give a solid 4.3/5 but the service was honestly so bad that I don't think it's worth it to eat here unless you don't care. I hate to knock down many points for bad service and I try not to unless it's bad, but this took it from what could've been a 5 star on yelp to a 3.

I've never been to an intestine-specialty place before! Was super excited to go to Gopchang with the hype surrounding it. Marinated large intestine (10/10): got the portion for 3 to split with 2 friends. They do not skimp, we had a third for leftovers. It was very well marinated, and it coming out on the grill for it to continually cook with the onions, cabbage, scallions, and rice cakes was the best part, because as the night continues, these veggies get soft, smokey, and saucy with the fatty marinated intestines. Note that this was very heavy on the stomach, so it's a bit hard to eat one type. I do not regret my order though.Raw spicy marinated crab (7/10): overall, it was decent. I feel like it's very similar, maybe slightly sweeter, than the raw marinated crab that can be bought at H-Mart. They bring you gloves so you can eat cleanly in the restaurant, which I appreciate. The crab is meaty, tender, and soft. I do think it's a bit pricier when comparing it to market prices.Overall, Gopchang was good. There's a bit of a wait if you're going on the kickoff of the weekend, especially during prime dinner hours since they're located between BC and BU. It is a cute little KBBQ place with neat chairs that open to store your belongings so they don't get that KBBQ smokey smell. They have sectioned off rooms to hold parties of 5+ which is great if you wanted to go with lots of friends. They play a lot of K-pop on the TV from different generations which was nostalgic! I got there around 6 and waited about 30 minutes to get sat. The waitstaff was really kind. I did place my order about 5 minutes after we were sat, and I was a bit disappointed when it took 45 minutes for our intestines to be served. I had only said something about my order after I saw a table sat after my have their food come out first. Waiting while it is slammed is understandable, so I'm not complaining on the wait. I am disappointed in that it took took 3 different servers asking me "what was your order?" until I got my food, which leads me to believe my order wasn't really put in the system in the first place. I know it was very busy, so don't let this deter you from coming. I hope there is a bit more attention across the tables the next time I come!

Service - 9/10I came in around peak dinner time on the weekend and was told it would be a 30-45 minute wait. I was craving gopchang so I said, sure why not I'll wait it out. To my surprise, at least 3 tables all got up around the same time and we were seated within 10 minutes of arriving. The service was good and they took the order quite quickly. They cook the intestines for you, and the person asked us how we wanted it cooked (we wanted it well done) and did a great job serving it. Food - 9/10We ordered 1 portion of the small intestines, the Pork Belly Kimchi Stew, and the Seafood Pancakes.Seafood Pancakes:They weren't that cut up, so I thought I'd have a hard time tearing them apart, but they were easy to separate and distribute amongst our table. They were decently sized, and quite light and not oily. Pork Belly Kimchi Stew:Unlike other kimchi stews, this one leaned more on the sour side of kimchi. I could taste the sourness of the kimchi in the stew from the small portion I had. It was still pretty good, but I didn't expect it to be that sour.Small Intestines:What I ordered and was craving. We had 1 portion, but it was just enough to fill me and the table up. It was buttery and had good flavor, and the crispiness was perfect. Not that oily and tasted great.Ambiance - 8/10May just be me but the tables are a bit low to the ground, so if you have problems with your knees it may be uncomfortable at first. The place is also very dim, but still bright enough to see people.

We ordered the assorted gui for 2 people and a super cripsy and enjoyable seafood pajeon appetizer the assorted gui includes an assortment of grilled beef tongue, large, small, and entrails beef intestines, as well as veggies. The whole dish can be ordered spicy or mild, and it's served with a variety of banchan. I ate almost two servings of kimchi on my own because the sweet/spiciness of the kimchi was able to help cut through the fattiness and compliment the overall flavor of each biteOverall a very enjoyable meal with staff that helps you to cook!

We came here when they opened, not busy but service is really slow and feel being ignore. My favorite is the seafood pancake, they doesn't have much flour, more like tempura. We ordered the 1 serving of assorted gui and 1 serving of marinated gui, still big portion that we still left over. The yookhwe bibimbap portion was small and too much sesame oil, they did not have the pepper paste to go with it. The steamed egg, lack of seasoning. I rather ordering take than dining in person.
