Goody's Donuts

I've been coming here since childhood. I think they have different owners now, but it's still the best neighborhood donut shop. The price is right too. Hope Goody's always stays great!

I came in to pick up a variety box of donuts and I was not disappointed. Everything was delicious!

Update! Goody's Donuts has changed owners again. The new owner Ulises is so sweet and friendly. He is the polar opposite of the previous owner who only lasted a few months. I am so glad that I can return to the shop. Even better, on occasion I get to see Norman and Jie (long time owners) as they fill in when Ulises and his wife need a break. The inside of shop recently underwent a few changes. There is a cute coffee prep/condiment table where you can customize your coffee. There are more tables for customers to sit and enjoy their coffee and donuts or to read the newspaper.The donuts are basic and no frills. Just a traditional, solid donut. Whether you enjoy glazed, cake, long john, old fashioned, jelly filled, cruller, raised, or a donut hole, Goody's has them. I think the glazed twist is still my favorite.If you are in the Serra Mesa neighborhood, stop by in the morning before they sell out and try a couple.

By far one of the best donut spots in the Serra Mesa area! They are open early for all your donut needs. The greatest thing I discovered about them is their sandwiches! There are also group orders you're able to place ahead of time. Super yummy coffee drinks (huge frappe fan & I've had them all), new drinks have been introduced in the last couple of months. One of the few places that also serves Thrifty ice cream still ! I frequently will get a triple scoop of bubble gum & mint with chocolate chips to go along side my donuts (if I'm going to have a cheat day, might as well fully enjoy it ). Parking lot is easy to navigate & no matter what time it is, there is always parking. Street parking also surround the complex the donut shop sits in. If you're ever wanting to sit & dine in with your yummy donuts that's always an option too. Very casual on the inside, tremendous/quick service, delicious drinks, yummy treats, & easy parking!

Goody's Donuts is located in Serra Mesa area of San Diego. I stumbled upon Goody's Donuts purely waiting in line for breakfast at a restaurant nearby. So glad I did stume here. Those donuts are REALLY LARGE! A donut and a coffee hit the spot. I fully enjoyed the mom and pop type place and also especially - in the wall were placques of donations, volunteer events - all great things to support the local neighborhood! ENJOY!

Just an update. Thanks to the yelper who let me know that the donut shop is under new management and the original owners are helping out. They have great donuts here so please check out this local shop, you won't be disappointed.

I'm not sure why I didn't write this review a long time ago. Embarrassing to say.... But I come here way too often because it's so delicious. I get their Vietnamese coffee (YUM) and either a donut or a ham & cheese croissant. I'm positive everything else there is delicious... but I'm just a creature of habit. The service is unreal, I also come here to catch up with the owners who are absolute angels. Thank you guys for being so awesome and making some AMAZING food and coffee! See you soon!!!

With so many donut shops to go to here in San Diego, you would they all are essentially the same...WRONG! Goody's has some of the freshest, softest, biggest donuts I've witnessed here. Has all of your classics and favorites and are served with a smile! Great service, great product. I'm pleased an think you will be too

I went there a few months ago and the owner (Ulysses?) was so incredibly friendly and... just REALLY NICE. After talking to him and hearing the story behind the donut shop, he and his wife seem like the kind of people that once you have a conversation with them, you just root for them in life as a whole.I think I got donut holes and Ulysses gave me a complimentary blueberry donut to try. The donuts were really good too--one of my top two locations for donuts in San Diego now. I have them specifically in mind for when I'm craving a donut and want a hometown feel where I can get to know the human being on the other side of the counter. Beyond customer service--HOSPITALITY.Go there if you want to be treated like a human being, hear a story, and maybe even share a little bit of yours. Months later and I still remember the hospitality I experienced... not many businesses leave such an impression nowadays. I want to see these people win.

you come here for donuts and coffee (Vietnamese iced coffee is so good) but stay loyal because of the people who own it. Love their friendly attitude and their son is the cutest! Keep it up
