Really unpleasant. Despite the 85+ degree weather outside, they thought it a good idea to keep the AC off, the windows open, and light a bunch of candles. To make matters worse, when I tried fanning myself with the paper menu they asked me to stop because that was the only menu they had.I felt like they have an inferiority complex with Beatnik on the River, next door. When I arrived both employees said I must be looking for Beatnik and surely not this place. The seating area is minimal, which is fine because there were barely other patrons. Felt like the employees were mainly just listening to the conversation between me and my friend. Top that off, the wine menu was limited, not very good, and $20 a pop. I left feeling dizzy and ill from the heat and bad wine. Will not be returning.

Well, the bartender "Griffin B" (6/22 @ 6:13pm) was extremely rude! We were not seated at a table, and i asked to separate our check because we were three different individuals who ordered separately and he said "he couldn't separate the checks" hmm yea you can! The bartender previous to him was great and i would have enjoyed this wine bar if it wasn't for "griffin." Definitely not coming back.

Possibly one of my favorite finds during my time in Chicago. This is a natural wine bar and I must say it was possibly the most aesthetically pleasing / wide variety offering wine bars I have been to yet. Our server was a gem and even made time to speak to me about some of our favorite wine brands/distributors - we talked about some of the best regions and he even allowed me to sample some wines I have never had or heard of. The prices for bottles were very good! You could get a beautiful skin-contact for anywhere between $40-100 and the particular one I chose was hands down delicious (Alexander & Maria Austrian 2021).

Dropped in after having brunch at Beatnik. This is actually in the same space at beatnik behind one of the curtains or you can walk out and walk back in lol. It's a cute vibe in here. Sat at the bar and ordered the espresso martini and my friend had an orange wine. Her wine was yummy and so was my martini. I had a very sweet tooth and was able to order from Beatnik's dessert menu. Overall nice experience!

This place honestly is super cool. I was able to try so many different types of wines and learn about all of them at the same time. The service was incredible and employees really knew what they were talking about. The margarita flavored wine was my favorite! This is all coming from someone who hasn't been able to appreciate the true taste of wine yet cuz I'm too young :)

*Food* Great*Ambiance* Great*Service* MEH, bordering on bad. I've been in the industry my entire life and been working in wine for 10+ years. When a customer asks about a bottle and you don't have it available, or can't speak to it, you need to be attentive when providing other alternatives. The staff was all too unconcerned to check in on my visit to see how I was liking what I ended up with. Probably not coming back unless Im dragged.

Stopped in for an after work drink and snack and the space is small, but very pretty inside. The natural wine menu is good, but I wish there were more by the glass options. We had exceptional service and they allowed us to taste before they poured full glasses which was great with unfamiliar wines. We tried four different wines and all were really good. The chicken liver pate was tasty (and they gave us enough bread from the start!) and we also enjoyed the jamon flatbread as well. We were busy chatting that I forgot to take photos, but the food is also beautifully presented. I look forward to making it part of my after work routine!

Wow. I loved this place. Starting with the ambiance a what a cool vibe. The decor was modern chic with some funk - definitely had a cool aesthetic. We didn't try food, but the alcohol that was recommended for us based on our preferences were amazing. But the service. That's the reason I'd come back here. Evan is a gem. He walked us through the concept of natural wine, explained to us what he'd recommend based on preferences, and even took us on a tour of their neighboring restaurant Beatnik. He was so kind and such a special human

Came here for happy hour-turned-dinner. They don't take reservations and there's not a lot of seats, so be prepared to wait or come early. I had the natural orange wine, which I really liked, and then we shared the cheese plate, veggie flatbread, and fries. None of the food was super exciting, but the ambiance was unique and the service was good.

GoodFunk had been on my list for months, so I was excited when I realized we had some time before another reservation to stop in here for the first time. Most of the seating at GoodFunk is centralized at the bar. I wouldn't recommend this bar for a large group. I think it is better for a date/with one other person or solo. There are a few light food options on the menu, but this place would be more ideal for pre/post dinner drinks. Once we took our seats at the bar, we were immediately welcomed by the bartender. Once we made our wine selections, the bartender let us each try samples of the wine before fully committing to the wine we selected. I've only ever had a handful of orange wines in general, so I took the opportunity to try one of the orange wines from their menu. I really loved the one I picked. We also ordered the steak tartare. The steak tartare was good, but I wished it came with a couple more slices of the bread. It came with 4 small pieces, but we were definitely scooping up the rest of the tartare with a fork. After my husband had his first one, he ordered an old fashioned. I also tried a sip of his old fashioned and really enjoyed it. The wine selection, ambiance, and service are all a winning combination at GoodFunk.
