Golden Coin

This is gourmet food at its best. You know you are for an experience of a lifetime when you go. It looks like the outside of the building has not been taken care of since dirt was invented. Other than wallpaper coming off the walls, the place looks clean. All you can eat, it says. Right, lol. They fill your plate for you. You are in for a treat. They grab a flimsy 8 inch paper plate and start. They fill at least half this flimsy paper plate with rice and noodles, eliminating room for more desirable items. As you walk down the selection, you can see this flimsy paper plate bending in half.  The energy makes you feel uncomfortable asking for another egg roll or another piece of chicken. The food. Wait, let's not for get the generosity of the napkins and fork. You will get two paper thin kleenex size napkins. Use sparingly as your pants will come in handy for the very grease chicken. You're given a plastic fork, so don't lose it or break it. Let's just say the fork is for small dainty eaters. Forks for babies are larger and sturdier. The food. The rice and noodles are not bad. The egg rolls were dry as sand. The chicken tasted as fried in 4 day used oil, yummie. This is dining at it very best! OK, now for the dirt. You know, from the start the place is very basic and there's nothing wrong with that. You know you are not gonna get waiters with towels draped over their arms. What happened to this place? Before they had real plates. You got to serve yourself. The forks were not plastic. The were napkins were able to handle more than two drops of oil. The egg roll rolls were not as dry as sand. The chicken did taste like it was fried in fresh oil back then. The only good thing I can say is that the broccoli and vegetables tasted fresh. It's not worth the increased price. For a couple more dollars, more do another fast food place as you will not walk out with greasy pants. Who wants to do the expense and laundry after dinner.

Finally able to go to Golden Coin again after a long, long time and found the place to be wanting but still having the same simple food and then some differences;1. The place is tired and worn but still clean and serviceable.2. There seems to be more dishes than before. On a Wednesday evening there was Fried rice, Chow mein noodles, Mixed veggies. Saucey ribs, Fried chicken (heavily brined), Spicy chicken wings and Sweet and sour pork.3. Price was $9.95 including tax, CASH. Paying is the first thing.4. There was a lot of carry out. They load the take out clam sheet foam container for you. You can make some requests however it seems that 2/3 will be carbs and 1/3 are the protein items. And that ratio is a full meal for most! (The container was heavy.) 5. I saw the dine in operation. The server behind the counter loads a paper plate as instructed by customer. When the customer wants more, they come back and the server loads another plate as instructed. The visit satisfied my Sweet and sour pork craving. It was nice to have the expanded variety. The price is outstanding as an AYCE or take out. Tired can still be good...

Been going here for 40 plus years. Never had a problem. No frills place. 99% of time get a to go order and they always pack it. Excellent sweet and sour pork and fried rice.

The food was not the best. There was a very small selection of food. It was very bland, not much seasoning at all. The sweet and sour pork was very dry and tasted like it had been out for a while. The buffet is all you can eat, but you have to pay for your drink refills. I gave 2 stars because the staff was friendly. I would not recommend eating here.

this place is the best place ever , my whole childhood i came to eat here with my cousins on saturdays or sundays after church and it's overall a great memory, i know the menu is only like 8 items or so but it's so delicious!! i always go back to this place !

Disgusting. Hands down the worst buffet experience I've had in my life. And I live for buffets.Go the extra .1 miles down the street to red wok instead

We come here all the time. Horrible service. The lady took my food out of my to go box and threw it out. Because I asked for 2 pieces of chicken and she said no. You can only have one and you can have no egg roll. After she yelled and screamed at me With a restaurant full of people horrible service, I will never come back here again..

This has to be my favorite hole in the wall Chinese buffet in Phoenix, Arizona the chow mein, the sweet-and-sour pork. The eggrolls are all a home run very inexpensive for the amount of food. You can get definitely recommend this restaurant.

I had a chance to visit here recently on my recent trip to Phoenix and it's as good as I remember from my childhood. I'm grateful this place is still here and I'm grateful to the family for maintaining the business for so long. My parents and I used to come here after their work so we can enjoy a weekly dinner out and this brings back so many memories.

This place has been my childhood go to spot. Really great food small option of food but all taste nice and delicious!!
