Golden Bay Asian Food

Came here for their lunch special and to order catering. Lunch special is $11.95 with choice of over two dozen entrees, rice (white or fried rice), soup (egg drop or hot & sour) and an egg roll. We tried salt & pepper shrimp, salt & pepper filet of fish, orange chicken and chicken with cashew. Big portions, quick and friendly service. Small sitting area with 4 booths and I think 3 tables outdoors. We were headed to a party afterwards and purchased two house chow mien, which was a hit at the party. Tasted similar to Golden Chopsticks.

Love the healthy stir-fry's here. They are able to accommodate my need to eliminate MSG from the food. I am one of those that gets glue in the tear ducts and neck tightens up when restaurant's aren't transparent with their ingredients. Some say MSG is a myth but it isn't for me. Great customer service, food is always made fresh after ordering. They give ample portions of protein, just wished it a was closer to me. :-)For sure will be back!

Service was very good. Food was fresh and very tasty. We had the chicken fried rice(a big portion) and Mongolian beef and vegetable chow mein noodles that were very tasty. A little small eating area as most orders are to go. Other than that, good option for fresh Chinese food!

Had lunch here with mi mom. This is one of her favorite places to go & I can see why. The staff was awesome. They were so sweet & friendly. The place is fairly small but inviting. There are also seating areas on the outside. We came in during lunch hour special.So we had the salt/pepper wings combo & sesame chicken combo. Food was delicious. Will definitely be returning to this place. You get 5 Stars

Appreciate both: Fast service + Reasonable pricesFOODLarge portions - dishes range from $14-$16, but the portions are large, my husband and I will easily eat 2 times each from each dish we order (and my husband eats a lot). I've ordered here and tried several of their plates, these are the ones we've really enjoyed:- Orange chicken (fav, highly recommend ) - Salt n pepper wings (fav, highly recommend) - Crab Rangoons Also tried the following and I'm on the fence about ordering these again ; for the dishes that have meats I felt the meats were overly tenderized for my taste and I didn't enjoy the "mushy" sensation, I acknowledge that it may not be a problem for other folks: - Mongolian beef- Beef with broccoli (I would recommend for the restaurant to have an even distribution of beef and broccoli, mine was very veggie/broccoli heavy with not much beef)- Chow mein- House special fried rice - Regular fried rice (pretty basic/plain, has egg and soy sauce only) Overall solid place, some dishes great, others "okay"for me AMBIANCEI have only ordered carry-out, but it seems like it's a casual, no-frills place with a couple of booths and small tables for folks.

Been going here for awhile, but today I ordered #14 Mongolian beef rice and egg roll. Price has gone up since last week. I got home and no eggroll.i also ordered a hot sour soup. But check the size change for 6.95. My mistake, the nice lady misunderstood what I ordered and substituted my eggroll for a small soup. My apologies

My wife and I love this place the food is great and the only problem is not much seat to eat on site. But the chicken wings and and Mongolian beef is delicious..

So this Chinese restaurant used to be under different ownership and the former offered lunch specials even on the weekends. That's what was the selling point for me as I only trek out here to get my haircut out in this area as it's out of the way for me. Golden Bay offers lunch specials on the weekend as well...score! I was pleasantly surprised as it was just as good as the last restaurant that resided in this spot. I ordered the Salt & Pepper Shrimp Lunch Special which was massive! The shrimp was nice and crispy, not oily at all, and the added flavor from the green onions, garlic and chili flakes created the perfect amount of spice for me. Very reasonably priced as well for the portion I was given.Service was kind and swift. The restaurant was nice and clean and uncluttered...more welcoming to eat inside vs. how it used to be under different ownership where we typical ate outside. The parking is shared with others in this strip mall but plentiful. No complaints there.Tasty food and quick service...will definitely stop by again when I'm in East County!

The food displayed here was exceptional. Two healthy portions for dinner, two healthy portions of beef, shrimp and rice and then two healthy portions of beef and rice for dinner the second night. It has been said that the test of good Chinese food is that flavors blend and it tastes good the next day...this was delicious every bite!
