The produce is often a bit old looking, but the rest of the store is awesome! A little bit of everything you could neeed, a decent frozen section and a huge liquor section.

It's wonderful living near this corner store. It's saved me on multiple occasions when I'm in the middle of cooking and realize I don't have a key ingredient and don't have the time (or energy) to go to Jewel. GNS has everything from fresh produce to alcohol. The prices are pretty fair, especially considering the convenience factor. The employees are always friendly and helpful. I know I'll be back time and time again!

Super friendly people! You can find practically **anything** you need here. Aside from a great beer, wine & liquor selection, they are also your typical corner-type convenience store. I have bought frozen yogurt, Nyquil, postage stamps & beer all in one trip, if that gives you an idea. :)Being such a friendly neighborhood spot, the great staff get to know all the regulars & treat you very well. Located very nicely at the corner of N Broadway St & Belle Plaine. There is even a USPS post-box outside the store.

I love this place. It's right down the street from my apartment and I often find myself shopping here for the extra things I need for dinner, versus schlepping the extra few blocks to Jewel (which is usually packed by the time I get there anyway). Their prices are great for an independent corner market, and their overall selection (including fresh produce, package foods, snacks, alcohol, AND household supplies) is really great.My only gripe is that I can't buy bread here. Without fail, every time I've purchased bread from them it's moldy within a day or two. Other than that, great place with friendly staff. Will continue to go back.

Great neighborhood shop with delightful staff, great liquor selection and great prices.

GNS Market is more than a convenience store, it's like a neighborhood institution! A wide selection of groceries, household consumer items are available as well as a nice alcohol selection. Quite reasonably priced. The staff are really friendly, this is a place you can have a pleasant chat with the salespeople. The only reason I gave 4 stars is their produce can be somewhat grotty at times.

My favorite market and liquor store in Chicago. I live in Pilsen, but make the trip to uptown every week because GNS is so good. They have an excellent selection of beer, wine and spirits with the best prices in the city. Bonus is the great corner market. I always pick up the ribeye when he has it in. If you stop in say hello to George. He's the absolute best!

GNS foods is more than a store on Broadway it is a part of the community. You need an apple, they've got you. You need a good bottle of wine, they've got you. Snacks you say? GNS has got you. There are only a few stores I walk in and feel like I'm part of the family...GNS makes that happen. Oh yeah and if I want a Chicago Pie!....Michael's across the street is the best! GNS for Bourbon picks cannot be beat.

In these days of quarantine GNS Foods has several advantages. Carries fresh produce at competitive prices and pantry items that are missing on big chains. It has a variety of produce not just your most common items and the store people are friendly. I liked that it was easy to social distance too. Of course for me it is especially good that it's the closest full stocked place from my home.
