Glass Box knows how to do Happy Hour right! With unbeatable prices and a daily 2 to 6 pm window, it's practically begging you to swing by. The interior is a real standout, true to its name, the space features glass walls built into a box like design that cleverly divides the dining areas while keeping the atmosphere open and airy. First off, the drinks. The lychitini and margarita were absolutely spot on. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not too strong, just right! And the food? Fresh and delicious across the board. The skewers, cut sushi rolls, and hand rolls were all crowd pleasers, but let's talk about the real star, the $1 oysters, fresh, and with a sweet and spicy sauce that had us ordering round after round. Our waitress topped off the day with a surprise cheese tart as a birthday cake, on the house! A perfect ending to a perfect afternoon!

We came here for happy hour and the food was delicious! My friend got the lychitini and that was also really good. The yuzu and lychee was very refreshing.I got the chicken and pork belly skewers and those were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The shrimp tempura hand roll was also delicious. I will say, this place is a still a bit pricy for happy hour, but it's not too bad considering it is a sushi place.Would definitely recommend! Food: 4/5Service: 4/5Ambiance: 4/5

The Sky Deck is a really neat spot and all of the restaurants have their own unique ambiance to them. I love the concept and have been to other places like this, but the decor all around was lovely! Hubs and I chose the Glass Box. The lychee martini is one of his new favorite drinks in sd which says a lot. The fried rice was a major disappointment and had close to no flavor and did not look appealing. The salad and shrimp tempura were good. The samurai roll was good and the best thing we ordered. The miso soup was flavorless and had low quality tofu and seaweed. Our server was very sweet and helpful and we loved the ambiance. The idea of being inside the glass box made it very fun. There was a parking lot.

Located in the skydeck to the back right. My friend and I came here for happy hour oysters. We got 3 dozens to share between us 2 (hehe) we also got 2 Yakitori sticks ,Philadelphia roll and the uni nigiri. Everything was so good and fresh! The oysters already have some type of sauce on them so it doesn't come with the usual Tabasco/lime etc. but it was still really good! I'm looking forward to trying more of their sushi next time as well as their omakase. It looks amazing! Great customer service as well!

Mmmmmmmm!! Food is so fresh here and service is great!! I also love the vibe here!! They asked if we had reservations but we didn't, guess because it wasn't crowded, they were able to seat us. This restaurant is inside like a food hall place, but a NICE food hall!! It's so pretty!!!!!

Glass Box is located at the Sky Deck in the Del Mar Plaza. Love the glass decor! I've been here several times. The chef is amazing and has something unique and different every time we've been here. We did an early birthday celebration for hubby's and had a fantastic time a few months ago. I always get their lychee mocktail- it's so pretty and refreshing. They also have noodles, skewers, etc. If you're not in the mood for sushi.

I can't believe I've been living under a rock and this was my first time at Sky Deck! It's a beautiful food stall market with some great eateries including Glass Box! Everything was quite good, just not on the top of my favorites sushi list. Fish quality was decent. Rolls were creative and good. My favorite was the salmon three ways as it had ikura and crispy salmon skin inside the roll that added a nice crunch to it. I also really enjoyed the crispy tuna rice and my spicy salmon hand roll. It was actually spicy (where most places down play the spice in it)Their lunch special galbi was also a hit for the kiddo dining with us. It's a great portion/deal for $18! We got there super early and was sat right away. Guy was our server and was pleasant as well. I'd definitely come back to try some other things. I loved the cool glass box for their sushi bar seating as well!

We left a bit disappointed in the food and overall experience.We came here for my birthday dinner and were excited to try some new sushi. Hamachi is my favorite however all of the hamachi dishes we ordered were a little underwhelming. The hamachi seemed to be sliced in an odd way and the huge chunks were difficult to chew. The oysters were probably our favorite part of the meal and we were pleased to get them on happy hour as overall the prices here are a bit higher than your average sushi spot in San Diego. Additionally, sitting at the railing was okay but with people constantly walking past it felt a little like sitting on a sidewalk patio without much privacy. I don't think we will be back as neither the quality of the food nor the seating layout were ideal.

Glass box has high quality fish and good cocktails, which are hard to come by at a sushi restaurant. Everything we ate was tasty and the prices aren't crazy for sushi of this quality. Will definitely be returning!
