Gio's Chicago Pizza

As previously mentioned, Gio's Chicago Pizza is located in Citizen Kitchens and is for takeout only. The front door was hard to find as there were several large food trucks parked out front, but it is the red double door entrance. Having recently been to Chicago, and I would say their deep dish is good for Nashville standards, but not as great as what you can get Chicago. We got a supreme deep diThe crust could be more buttery and flakey, and the vegetables could be fresher. The sauce had a great flavor and the cheese was very good quality lending to a nice cheese pull. Overall, it was cooked very well too. Their staff was friendly, even though we came a few minutes earlier than our pizza was ready. It's worth a try, especially if you're craving deep dish in Nashville. Just don't expect it to be identical to the deep dish in Chicago.

Amazing and such kind people. Can't wait to go back. Pizza blew us away and so quick for a deep dish.

I love the pizza from Gios and have been eating here for a couple years! I prefer the thin crust with pepperoni and sausage, the Cicero style. Greg the owner is always friendly and as well as all the staff. The Italian beef is also delicious.

Alright so i grew up in southside chicago for 21 years...Ive also lived in 13 states and traveled the country..... I grew up thinking we all had the same pizza... i was way off. If youre in nashville and looking for a chicago style pizza outside of chicago, this is the closest i found.Little helpful feedback- theres things they can do to get closer. I can tell the brand of cheese is different and the sauce could be tweaked.. as an example, a little toasted fennel in the sauce would make it more authentic...I know theres some companies that ship in water from chicago for the right dough consistency (though i will say i dont think thats necessary... that a lot and cuts down in profit margins greatly)...But as someone who learned to make my hometown pizzas homemade since i couldnt find anything close... there are some tweaks to perfect the recipe you can do without going to such extremes...This is the closest youll find outside of chicago.My only helpful feedback is to tweak the sauce recipe a little... and the cheese. Based off my homemade pizzas i know its doable... just keep tweaking it and we will get there.Overrall, very solid pizza but i wanna see them dial it in.Great ppl too

Let me set the stage here, so you're not surprised when you order Gio"s. It is not a restaurant. It is a place that has set up in the community kitchen on Alabama. You enter in the 47th street side and walk into the kitchen. In short, no place to eat. Take out only. The good is awesome, however. Think crusty droopy dish with a great mozzarella cheese. Layers of toppings and a nice homemade sauce on top. When i brought this into Bold Patriot to eat, my friend said "how much do I owe you?" His jaw does when I mentioned what it cost, he had a shocked look until he held the box and felt the weight of the pie. I plan on visiting them Wednesdsy for their pop up at Harding House. I need to try the tavern style and Italian beef sandwich.

Great place! Pickup only. Worth the trip if you're into deep dish. Got it packaged for a longer trip home (Italian Beef deconstructed and pizza uncut). When we got home, it was still hot enough to eat though. The sausage was spectacular. Really well spiced. Good texture. They've got their own thing going. It was good. For Nashville it's the best I've had. And it's better than some I've had in Chicago. Italian beef was great too. Unique roll. Giardiniera was standard, but they have some home made they are making that I'm looking forward to trying. Cool people for sure. Worth supporting. They took good care of me.

If was good pizza. I wish he had Italian sausageFrench fries and onion rings. The tavern pizza is one of the best in Nashville!

Being from Chicago this is a taste of home. Good value. Reminds me of home. Had tavern and deep dish.

Tonight I got to try Gio's Chicago Pizza. Man oh man the supreme pizza had lots of flavor but not overwhelming. It was a perfect balance if you ask me!The cheese pizza is so good. The cheese is thick and goes well with the sauce. These guys are amazing. Definitely give them a try! I would rate more than 5 stars if it let me.
