BEST CHEESESTEAKS IN SAN DIEGO!Although, to be fair, I don't know where else you'd even go to find a cheesesteak in San Diego. Nonetheless, Giorgino's rules.Cheesesteaks, chicken sandwiches, fries, tots and about 8 beers on tap. It's hearty, it's solid and it always scratches my comfort food itch. Friendly service and a quaint location in Golden Hill.Cheese it up, people.

I've eaten at Giorgino's a few times over the years, and honestly, I wasn't a fan until I realized that the trick to enjoying a meal there is to ignore all suggestions that the place is in any way like an East Coast steak or hoagie shop. It's fine that the front of the building and the menu mention Wise chips, Taylor ham, Amoroso rolls and Tastykakes, all iconic products and ingredients sourced in and near Philadelphia. Seeing the words and knowing that those items are available creates a vibe.But the notion that the place is somehow endowed with the same qualities that make Philly's steak and hoagie shops special is just wrong. That's not how that works, and if you don't believe me, you can buy a flight to Philadelphia to find out that I'm right, or just take my word for it.Once you do, you'll be able to enjoy Giorgino's for what it is: a fine neighborhood sandwich shop with cool staff and customers; relatively comfortable seating; reasonable prices; and excellent food.

It was a disappointing experience. I got super intrigued by all the stars. I don't know if it was a bad day for us, but I found the overall flavor underwhelming. The buns were also cold. Usually the inside is toasted on the griddle, or I don't know, just not be cold. My bread actually seemed stale as the ends were hard, as in I couldn't even bite through it anymore. We got "the works" or something like that, so it had a bunch of ingredients, but man, it fell flat for me. Even the cheese, usually it's stringy. You know, like that greasy, juicy, melt in your mouth experience. No, just tongue burning hot meal and ingredients cooked together, on a cold bun. The staff were nice though, hence 2-stars.

FIFTY PERCENT OFF for Father's Day! Tell me, who does that?Really, who do you know does that? Long time I come here, still fabulous! The Onion rings are sweet. Great parking and super friendly staff. I drive all the way from Mission Valley to eat here. They have a kick Azz Breakfast too.

I have been going to this great sandwich shop for over a decade. They never disappoint and the Philly cheesesteak is perfection. Soft pillowy bread with chicken or steak, grilled onions and cheese. So good! I am a mushroom steak and onion rings person but have tried most rings on the menu. For a treat add cheese wiz to your sandwich or try the Taylor Pork roll.

Ehh it's not the best cheesesteak I've had in SD but it isn't terrible. I shared a regular cheesesteak with my boyfriend and it did the job. We ordered some fries on the side but they felt undercooked. They seem to have a lot of options on their menu for breakfast and lunch. If you live in the area you would probably frequent the place a lot just for the convenience. I personally wouldn't make the drive here for the cheesesteaks though.

A great steak. As close as I've been able to find to a cheesesteak. Prices are fair, and they discount for cash transactions.

This food is amazing i highly recommend it. I have only ate half of my sandwich 5 minutes and my mouth is still watering for more. This place is family owned and has good quality and prices. It was only $15.00 and is bigger then my forearm.

One of the spots to get an authentic Philly or try something fun!I'm an OG girl, so I get the bell steak (if I'm sharing I'll get the works and pretend the mushrooms aren't there lol). Perfect size to share one or just have a large individual meal!They also have Herr's chips (get the sour cream and onion ones). I'd pass on the frings next time, but that's easy to grab for the table.They give you a little buzzer for the table and they'll bring your order to you.

I tried this place once and they were about to close. So I just picked a Philly with bell pepper and cheese and it was good and also got done fries which were fine.They have a good selection of Phillies so I have to come back with time and an appetite. Parking is limited.
