Giant New York Pizza

Reminds me of a place or three that I used to stop at as a kid to grab a slice or a sub in Boston. I've been a few times this stay in San Diego. Each time my sub was outstanding and the service was great ...the portions areGenerous and the prices are reasonable. If your in the are you should stop by for aBite. Very nice people.

Pizza doesn't have much taste. Could season the sauce or something?? My cheese cake had taste like it was in the freezer for a long time. So it had that freezer taste to it :( Definitely disappointed because I was excited to try.

Nice & clean spot. Lot's of parking in front. My kids like the pizza. Good deals for what you pay. I usually get 2 medium pizzas. They do have a Giant Pizza that can feed a big party. Next time I wanna get the Chicago style pizza. Give this place a try.

I got the large special and added pepperoni. I really like this pizza, it's affordable, good flavor and really does give off the New York style of pizza. They sell other food items as well but I've only tried the pizza which is satisfying. You can eat there if you like or to go. The service is great, seems like it's family operated and I love supporting small businesses when I can, especially when they taste great. The ambiance is clean and inviting, try it out!

The fresh ingredients (tomatoes and lettuce) for my gyro sandwich were wilted and brown upon getting home. I went inside the restaurant to order it fresh in hopes that it would be FRESH! This location is the worst. The cook and cashier is the same person. He did not wash his hands between interacting with consumers and cooking food. Sadly, the food reflects the cooks attitude: poorly made with no standard of good quality food. My fries were soggy, the gyro meat was in small chunks not sliced with a ton of tzatziki sauce on it, an overwhelming amount. The restaurant is extremely hot due to the pizza oven being directly in center of the restaurant. This is my second attempt at trying this restaurant and just like the first visit I am disappointed. I have not ordered pizza from here but I rather not. While they have an A rating in the window. The restaurant looks infested and unkept.

I really Love GNYP food. They have the best house dressing you'll EVER taste, the wings were cooked to perfection....crispy yet JUICY large wings. Salad is made with Romain...very deep green with cucumber, bok olives, tomato and feta YUMMO! I've been going here since 1981 and I never dreamed it could get any better..but it has! Try it, the owners are super nice and kind. I've not had a bad meal at this establishment.

AH-mazing! The food and the portion size are incredible! They use real ingredients, the food is fresh and the staff is very friendly with fast service. They don't make them like they used to is right! We appreciate the clean updated storefront and I love the awesome prints on the wall! Clean and fast! Keep it up guys/gals! Great food great service! We will surely be back again and again!

Longtime customer here! I want to start off by saying I do love this place. This Giant NY Pizza establishment has really amicable restaurant service all around every time I go, but this review is mostly going to focus on their food.I usually opt for buying their namesake's pizza, which is amazing and usually has the right ratio of dough fluff and crispness alongside its toppings that keeps me coming back. Except I'd been meaning to try out their calzones again. From remembering them being just as, if not better, than the pizza itself. After 6+ years it's safe to say that the calzones have changed drastically since the last time I had them, and since the last time anyone's updated this place's photo gallery online with what they look like now by comparison too. They're definitely not as "wide" as they used to be, and they even come in thinner slices. They look a lot more like cheesy breadsticks, that you'd be surprised to find them filled with anything at all. All around, the ratio of bundled ingredients wrapped inside the calzone are a bit awkwardly laid out too. Some of the slices will have too much cheese or dough, and overpower what little sauce and toppings were supposed to be spread around with them too. With the way the calzones are cut now, a slice of it is even similar to eating two square-cut pizza slices laid on top of each other to get the same experience, versus the traditional calzone they used to serve here. Which had thicker dough that was baked to well done perfection and topped with some kind of butter, oil, and seasonings, and had much thicker pockets stuffed with the usual ingredients too while still having enough room for more sauce to even things out. Given all this, the price doesn't seem well justified to reflect the changes in what you could be receiving now, and it's disappointing enough that it warranted my first Yelp review. So I don't think it'd be worthwhile to stop here for calzones anymore unless they make some significant changes and return to the old style and recipe.

When we want pizza this is our spot for sure. They are always nice and very professional. Place is clean and well kept. Prices are great. I love the pizza dough so soft and fresh. Thank you.
