Gertie's

I might not have found any Orcas yet but I have found a great place for food. Gertie's is staffed with the nicest people. Coffee is hot and their food full of flavor. Small restaurant but has a full bar and they were busy making mimosa's.

The Dosa is amazing. Great service and a nice atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. Full bar.

The greatest mistake i've ever made is stepping into this restaurant.If i could give this 0 stars i would. first of all i hat type of name is Gertie's. really silly. If you are planning on ordering the grilled cheese and tomato soup make sure you brought some chips because the soup tastes and looks like salsa. the cheese on the grilled cheese is disgusting and it is incredibly greasy. The Blat (which is a blta but they wanted to be different) is 70% avocado and just tastes like unseasoned guacamole. They somehow made the salad taste bad which makes me wonder if they're making bad food on purpose and their goal is to make the worst food possible. The orange juice was good at first but then it started tasting like antibiotics. the table was very unstable and it was at a slight angle. The worker was also making me uncomfortable by being weird. The big bottles of water they give you pour out weird. They were also blasting weird 1940s type music which i dint find very enjoyable. there was a weird plant thing on the table as well. Overall i did not enjoy that experience and i will never be returning.

Such a cute brunch spot! The ambiance was very homey and was decorated nicely. I loved the vintage photos and piano. I came here with a party of 4 and we were seated at a communal table which was nice to meet new people. The waiter was very friendly and service was not the quickest but good. I ordered the fried egg sandwich which was amazing. Perfect comfort food. The brioche bread was toasted an ideal amount and the bacon had just enough crunch. Even the side salad was good. The eggs and potatoes were also very yummy. The grilled cheese was nice especially with the caramelized onion. Overall amazing brunch place!

The ambiance is so cozy and classy, the food was fresh and delicious, staff were friendly. We can't wait to visit again!

Instantly fell in love with this place and the staff. It has that Orcas magic for sure. Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere- totally unpretentious. I love that they use seasonal and local ingredients plus the portions are good for the price. The brunch menu has gluten free options: I have celiac and dietary restrictions and I can eat here. I haven't been here for happy hour yet, but mocktail and coffee menu are the next on my list. It's cold right now but they have some of the best outdoor seating in Eastsound. I'm a sucker for a cute patio. Put this restaurant at the top of your list if you're a foodie: best brunch in orcas island!

Gertie's has such terrific food in a relaxing and warm atmosphere. The breakfast sandwich is very yummy and i give it a hearty thumbs up! ^_^

Best fried egg sandwich I've ever had--and I've eaten more than my share. Sublime. I will definitely be back and look forward to working my way through the entire menu.

We found Gertie's on Yelp and went there for a late lunch yesterday. Staff was very friendly and the place was very cute. I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. My husband had a brunch plate consisting of scrambled eggs, salad, and coffee cake and really enjoyed his dish. The coffee cake was more like a fruit crumble and was so good. Will be back the next time we are on the island!

Gertie's is a quaint little spot full of Island fare. I had The Blat and it was delicious, cooked just right and a side of Avocado toast. I wasn't a fan of the toast. Wasn't toasted as much as I'd like but the avocado mash was perfect. I should have asked them to toast it longer than they normally would. My husband had chicken curry. It was delicious as well. The right amount of spice and heat and the chicken was tender. He especially enjoyed the chickpeas. We also had coffee which was a full bodied and nutty blend. Super tasty. I had the garden Bloody Mary and he had the pineapple mimosa. We were not disappointed. We will look forward to eating here again next time we're on the island.
