I misses my reservation due to traffic, but the hostess was so nice to move it in the evening. I love their clam linguine pasta, but they changed their menu around 7/24/24, which is perfectly fine. I ordered mussels under the appetizers. Most of the time, when I order whether it's clams or mussels, the bread is on the side for dipping. Mine was served with the bread in the middle underneath all the mussels soaked in red sauce. The mussels felt like they were steamed separately and topped on the plate without tossing them in the sauce. The sourdough bread underneath was so soggy. The only good thing was the red sauce. Hostess and service were great. Just don't order this.

Never going back after eating there since the 90s. Called and spoke to a manager about our situation for over 45 minutes. She said she was really upset about what happened. What happened is this. George's is known for celebratory outings. We have heard fromClients in area that the food has gone downhill but daughter made birthday reservations there. It is George's rule that they offer a birthday dessert. My daughters boyfriend made reservations there and added it was a birthday celebration. At restaurant they told server birthday. She just said oh happy birthday and then did nothing. The standard bday dessert they offer is subpar but it's a nice celebration touch. It's certainly not fun seeing others get the desert and celebration around you. I don't know why the snub - but it was enough to make us never go back again as well as talk to clients in area that already warned us the food is not what it was. I waited weeks for the resolution call or email and never got it. I will rate the overall experience a 1 due to not only the snub but the phone call with no resolution. As a small business owner it's just not acceptable to snub your clients then agree with them that you were snubbed, that EVERYONE gets a celebratory dessert but for whatever reason your daughter and boyfriend didn't. And then talk with you about for 45 minutes then do nothing. Really sad as I was eating at George's since the 90s when I managed Red boutique and samira boutique and had so many casual dinners lthere as well as happy hours when they did them to celebrations over the decades without one hitch. It's really sad that George's has made it all these years but lost what made it George's.

Struggled between a 4 and 5 and ended on the 4. George's at the Cove is 100% made better by the upper oceanside vibes. The food is also great but I wouldn't say that any entree our group had really knocked our socks off. The real stars were the service (OUTSTANDING) and the sticky toffee dessert! Definitely worth checking out!

Came on a Friday for late lunch and was sat promptly at a table with a gorgeous view. The tables were sat a bit too close to each other but ocean view was incredible. The food came out fairly quick. We ordered the burrata to start along with chicken sandwich and fish tacos. Unfortunately the chicken is fried in the same oil as the shrimp which gave the chicken a very fishy flavor. I never like to send food back but I just couldn't eat it. The server was very kind and accommodating and I ordered the burger instead. Burger was very tasty and so were the friend fries. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her fish tacos. Drinks are great here as well. Over all we very had a nice lunch.

10/10 experience all around. I came here with 3 of my best friends on the last night of our girls trip. Our reservations was at 6:15 which was perfect to end the meal with a sunset. Our waitress was soooo friendly and on top of it. She made us feel at home and like we could stay as long as we wanted. I wish I knew her name! The rooftop setting was just breathtaking. The ocean views alone are enough to go for, but the sunset made it that much better. All the food and drinks we got were delicious! Prices are comparable to similar types of places, except the appetizers were definitely a bit much for what we got. I will definitely be back any time I visit La Jolla!

Met up with my cousins for dinner. It's been a few years, since I've ate here, so it was nice to see what was new on their menu and also the view of the La Jolla shores is always a plus. As we were waiting for our cousin and her husband, my other cousin and I waited at the bar. The staff was super nice, attentive and accommodating. Once everyone arrived, we were seated. I got the salmon tartare, Niman Ranch Flat Iron and the dark chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious and fresh. I also had sangria, but not shown and was just...thirsty. Haha. The only downfall is parking. If you plan on coming to eat here or anywhere else in this area, I highly recommend coming a bit early or just pay for valet.

Pricing will hit like a freight train, but its an awesome view. Drinks are well made, and strong. Alcohol-forward.Their lamb is amazing. Unsure if they make the naan themselves but its extremely good. For the view, the lamb, even the service was tip top notch . . . Id definitely do another visit. Only got to try their lunch menu, not the dinner!

To preface, I've visited this location a few times now because the view is amazing and the food has always been delicious. In fact, I've had some of the best burrata appetizers and surf and turf entrees at George's. However, just like the more recent reviews have said, the quality of the food has really decreased. We shared a pasta and chicken dish during our latest visit that was lacking. To start off on a good note, the service was great and our waitress was friendly and accommodating. Since our food wasn't up the quality we expected, she offered us a dessert on the house. We opted for the goat cheesecake and the flavor was very unique and tasty. The cream that came with the cheesecake had a hint of vanilla, which complimented the cheesecake well. Now for our entrees -- we ordered the pasta and chicken. The pasta was temperate and the noodles were definitely a little overdone and the sauce was too salty. Our waitress kindly sent the dish back to be remade. When the remake arrived, there was less sauce and the noodles were done much better, but the flavor was still lacking. For our second entree -- the chicken was hot and juicy but the squash and zucchini seemed to have been prepared beforehand and then just slightly heated up before being dumped onto the plate with the chicken. Overall, the food is not what it used to be, and we will not likely come back to celebrate again at George's until they bring back their original quality.

If you want to see a fantastic view from dinner then George's at the Cove is hard to beat. The menu has a wide variety of options so there is something for everyone. I believe I had a roast chicken dish with some kind of rice. It was just okay, and I felt the price was a little steep. The service was not the best, we told the waiter we needed about five minutes to review the menu and didn't see him again for about 45 minutes. There was not even a check in to see if we were doing okay during that time to try to put an order in. For this reason I would advise you read the menu before hand and be ready to order when they seat you.
