George and Dragon Pub

I forgot to take pictures but I had the fish and chips. The fish in size if really big. It was nice and flaky and tasted really good. I had 2 woodchuck ciders We were headed to the Journey/Def leopard concert. The waitress was super nice and attentive. Atmosphere was cool just low key. I will for sure be going back.

I was in love with the Cornish Pasty Company because I craved these lovely confections. But George and Dragon's short crust pastry stuffed with chicken curry and potatoes are my new go to satisfy that craving.He bartenders last night, Cat and Jana were welcoming with playful banter. They know all the regulars and even asked me for my name and chatted with me. I cannot wait to come back!

I am a big fan of fish and chips, it's my go-to whenever it's available. GAD does it right, perfectly cooked and all the sides delicious. Cole slaw doesn't usually impress me, it's normally very boring, but for some reason I couldn't get enough of theirs, had a little zip to it. My gf got the bangers and mash, and really liked that.I am not really into bars, but this place is so chill and had a very welcoming warm vibe. Staff is all very friendly and helpful.Bonus story: I left my debit card by accident after I paid for dinner. I had to go back the next day, so I ordered lunch before I headed over. I got the English Dip, but when I got home with it, I was sad to find they forgot to pack my Au Jus :( :( so ima have to dock that fifth star.

First things first, GO ENGLAND!!! I love that they are doing watch parties for the Euros and throughly enjoyed the watch party July 6th, and looking forward to enjoying the finals this Sunday! Jolene provided amazing service and even checked in on the status of my food when it took awhile (ticket was lost). Though the menu is limited for watch parties, the English Breakfast was spot on. I love that they didn't even bat an eye to make it vegetarian, and even inquired if I was vegan. Outside of watch parties, this location is on my radar to try again as I haven't visited since COVID. My Nanny (grandma from England) always loved this pub when we were on that side of town, so this place has lots of nostalgia for me. One of the best pubs outside of England!

George and the Dragon is a pretty solid British pub for being in the middle of Arizona. Tables are a little sticky sometimes and the bathrooms don't have infant changing tables (okay, I know, weird thing to desire, and maybe the babies aren't the clientele this pub is trying to attract), but service is friendly and there's plenty of beer to choose from. I keep hoping they'll decide to bring in some Doom Bar, but I haven't gotten lucky yet. Food is, well, British food. They make a solid Indian Chicken Curry with the perfect bite of spice. The Shepard's Pie was a little heavy on the potatoes for my taste, so I think I'll stick with the curry next time. I've got to come back soon since there's a Sausage Roll on the menu that I'm dying to try.

Stopped by to watch the England game. The place was packed. What a great atmosphere. still My server, Carly was a rock star. Always there for me. After the game I ordered the fish and chips that were awesome. Will be back soon. Highly recommend.

Awful food, too noisy. People smoke around place. It is never clean, Grafitti all over. Went with a bunch of people, the noise was too loud, smokers everywhere, there is a law no smoking. This place does nothing, our group walked out

There were some beautiful burgers going past us when we visited George and Dragon. But alas, we were there for food with more of a British flair, which is what they're built upon. Sadly, the Sunday Yorkshire pudding special fell flat for us, as did the fish & chips which was overcooked, dry, and difficult to eat. As an option for a cold brewskie and a burger I think this place is spot on. Friendly service and a chill vibe. Go for that and I think you'll be golden!

I went for a late lunch and the service was poor even though they weren't busy. The bangers and mash were less than stellar - small burnt bangers, mash tasted blah, and the peas and gravy must have been from a can. The best thing was the beer! Waited and waited for the bill and was unable to get anyone's attention. Left full payment plus begrudgingly a decent tip (I didn't have change) on the table and left the restaurant. At that point the waitress finally shows up running after me asking me to pay my bill. I think the place would be ok if you went to watch a sports event, had burgers and beers and didn't mind the sticky tables.

We've been here 3 times now, and all 3 times have been delicious!! The service is quick. They have a huge selection of beer and cocktails, and their menu is amazing. You can't come here and not try the fish and chips. We always share because there's so much we want to try. If you order a "pastie," opt for the appetizer one. We've had the chicken curry pastie and chicken pot pastie. They don't skimp on the filling or flavor. My husband's new favorite is the bangers and mash. I was very surprised with this dish. My daughter only orders the shepherds pie it's delicious. The beer is ice cold and refreshing as well!
