Great spot in river north. Love the large front patio (closed off really well from the street). The service all around from all the staff was attentive, quick and friendly. My group got there just in time for Happy Hour for some drinks and snacks and stayed longer for dinner. Happy Hour snack- our favorites were the fried shrimp (2 per order were HUGE and crunchy- wrapped in phyllo and the sauce it comes with was so good) and Lobster Arancini. Dinner- All the dishes we got were delicious and the menu offers some great combination of some classics and creative dishes. Something for everyone. Definitely save room for dessert and get their Summer berry crumble! **Valet is offered if you don't want to street park and I love that it's all digital so you can pay and request for your car in advance right from your phone!

Ehhhhh!! I want to give this place at least 4 stars; however, I think we got screwed over. Our bill was about $10 higher than expected and we were not given an itemized receipt. We probably should have asked for one but felt uncomfortable about it. Otherwise! Their happy hour was great (although the white wine had kind of a weird yellow color to it). The cold brew espresso martini was delicious. The tempura mushrooms were also really good. The patio also looks really nice but unfortunately happy hour is only in the bar area. I would come back but the thing with bill kind of skeeves me out.

An easy 5 stars from me. If you've been to Gemini in Lincoln Park, this is the new sister restaurant that recently opened in River North. I was eager to try since I already love the brunch at Gemini. We sat outside on the patio which is spacious but not overwhelming in size. I got to see the inside when I went to the restroom and it was beautiful. A gorgeous bar with dim lighting and dining tables. I was happy with every single part of this experience, from sitting down at the table, to the food, to the service. For entrees, I went with the Mussels (10/10) and Black Miso Cod (100/10. I'd say this is my favorite seafood dish I've had in the city). My friend ordered the Orecchiete pasta which she said was delicious. The quality in each dish was so pleasing and our waiter gave some great recommendations. Their Daisy Heat cocktail was light and refreshing with hints of watermelon and jalapeño. If you like your spicy margaritas very spicy, you may want to ask for more jalapeño if you order this one. I am not huge on spice in my drinks, so it had the perfect for my taste. I can't wait to come back here!

New restaurant in the neighborhood so we had to try it!Cleanliness/appearance wise, this place is definitely great. Outside seating is very picturesque and does hit the spot. However when it comes to service, I do think they are understaffed because it took us 45 minutes to place an order which is absurd especially when the restaurant was fairly empty. This isn't the servers fault but management should consider hiring more people to help make service better. As for the food, the Korean fried chicken sandwich and the blackened grouper were excellent and freshly made. But the steak and eggs were cold. We tried to get a hold of the server to let him know but he was nowhere to be found (again, understaffed). And he only came by once we were done with our meals. Once we saw him, we let him know that it was cold and he did end up taking it off the check which was nice.

We came for happy hour (at the bar only), but it was packed on this Friday so we couldn't get a seat. We stood around the bar area though and requested a table instead to dine. The interior is bright and nice. I liked the tequila cocktail from the happy hour menu, and my glass of red (rioja wine I believe) was nice with my meal.We started with the fries and crostini, which were both tasty. The jumbo shrimp was a very small portion (only 3), as was the ceasar salad. Both dishes were tasty though, especially with the few filet slices we got on the salad. We also had the Brussels slaw to share for the table, but that dish oddly came out last.Overall, this was a nice meal with good service and ambiance. Portions are on the smaller side but not a bad restaurant choice for the area.

Love Gemini and Ballyhoo, so was excited to try this place. We came without a reservation and didn't have an issue getting seated downstairs on a high top. There's a lot of seating all around. Such a friendly staff - from the valet out front, the hostess, and the servers, everyone was so incredibly friendly and it was such a breath of fresh air! Interior is stunning - it's modern, not stuffy, but you can wear sneakers or heels and you'd be fine. There's two floors - the second floor has a private room and also is a little more bright. Downstairs there's a lot of seating for a more casual environment. Food:-the bread service ($7) was incredible - milk bread and it's 4 total pieces that easily can be split between 2 people -mussels were delicious and I loved how it came with more broth to soak up the sourdough bread -burger was solid - they actually divided the entree for us, which is such a nice touch-miso cod was cooked beautifully BUT it is just the protein. I wish it came with a starch or a side (but they have sides you can order at the bottom) 10000% will be back!

Gemini Grill a really good new restaurant in River North! The service was excellent and the atmosphere is upscale but inviting! The drinks were all delicious and well-balanced.My best friend and I got the milk bread and Spanish octopus to start. The bread was delicious, very soft and savory. The octopus was phenomenal! It was tender and full of flavor. For dinner I had the sea bass and my friend got the lobster risotto. The sea bass was exceptional! The charcoal wood grill add this fantastic crisp to the outside of the perfectly-cooked fish and created a depth of flavor that I really enjoyed with the tomato confit. However, I did find some small bones in the fish. The lobster risotto had nicely cooked lobster but overall lacked some flavor. The fries we shared as a side were very good and accompanied by a terrific garlic aioli. Overall Gemini Grill is an excellent new addition to River North that is a few small steps from perfection!

One of the best bars/lounges I've been to so far! It has a very elegant vibe with great drinks. We went for there happy hour, which apparently just started recently. The service was great and even let us split up the checks for a pretty decent sized group (work happy hour). I definitely recommend trying the espresso martini if you like them. The lobster arancini was also great. Will be back.

My fiance and I had just gotten our marriage license on Friday and were looking for a place to have dessert to celebrate. I'm so happy we did. Our experience was excellent from start to finish. The hostess was nice & sat us outside. Our waitress was super sweet and even pulled some strings to make our celebration even better. I wish I could remember her name - she was great! Since we hadn't been inside, we went in to take a look. Everyone was kind and welcoming, which can be hard to find these days. We've found our neighborhood gem! Looking forward going again soon!

I want to preface by saying I am an industry professional, and have been for the better part of 10 years. With that said, this is one of the best dining experiences I have had in a very long time. I flew in to be with family while my mom is in the hospital, and from the start it was wonderful. The host/manager (I never got her name), was very friendly, and welcomed us warmly. We opted to sit outside, and it is like a private oasis considering it's right on State St. The menu was very concise and descriptive, and our server offered substitutions to the sides. The food was great and flavorful, although I wasn't a fan of the bun on the burger (personal preference). My drink, a Mezcal Old Fashioned, was sweeter than I would have liked, but the server had them remake it and it was perfect the second time. When we were finished, I spoke to the managers, Jordan and Kevin and thanked them for making the afternoon a great reprieve for us. They offered their condolences and individually came to the table and spoke with us. Just an all around phenomenal experience.I only have two criticisms, one of which is not directly their fault:1. One of the HVAC vents for the building points directly down into the patio area, and over a few of the tables. In the fall, It's probably very pleasant, but this time of year made it warmer than it already was.2. The servers seemed to not know who was assigned our table, so we had 3 intros before we got a set server (they may have been rotating, and lost track of who was next). This will definitely become one of my regular restaurants whenever I come back home to visit! Thank you all!
