The Gelato here is absolutely delicious! The kids working here could be a little friendlier, but we did catch them near the end of the night. A couple of guys were dancing in the back, and the guy who was giving us samples simply just wanted to get out of there. My advice to the owner would be to get a couple of young girls with a smile on their face and a good personality, because that's a recipe for success at the best Gelaterias in San Diego. The Biscotti was by far the best Gelato in the house! The best way to describe it is a combination of chocolate, butterscotch, and vanilla wafer. The flavors combine superbly... However, the Tiramisu was a bit too strong on the coffee side for my taste buds. It tasted like coffee without the creamer... Nevertheless, I will definitely be back for the Biscotti!

Husband found this gelato place and we swung by yesterday for a visit. Very limited parking but we found a spot right out front. We did some tastings and ended up getting the Quad, which is 4 flavors:1) pear2) strawberry cream3) pistachio4) sugar free hazelnut Every flavor tasted great; with our favorite being the refreshing pear . This has now become our go to gelato place if we are ever back in the SD area. Yum!! Price was reasonable at $7+ for the 4 flavors. We also orders a green tea boba 24 oz but the tapioca pearls were a bit soggy and not chewy enough. We will stick to their gelato next time and skip any boba drinks!

Was walking around Encinitas and wanted dessert. What stood out for me was the long line and the sign. The line was moving fast, so I assumed it was a popular spot. Thank goodness I came in because the gelato I had was delicious -- it was biscoff flavor. The unique thing about this place is they change the flavors often and it's family owned! Who doesn't love supporting local business, let alone a family business! Everyone was so nice and helpful. I love the interior with the sign on the right talking about family. If you're ever in Encinitas, I recommend trying this place.

This place is so cute! Our party visited Gelato 101 on a warm Sunday afternoon. It was packed but the line moved quickly and were able to find seats. Lots of outdoor seating and dog friendly! We ordered Affogatos and were able to choose whatever gelato flavor. Super tasty! Will definitely come back.

Best store in the area. I always come to either get an açai bowl or gelato or Boba and it always hits. I recommend if you are coming to visit from the beach could to come here because it is definitely as good as people say it is.

Quite a long line on summer evenings. The serving size is a bit small for the price but they have a lot of tasty gelato options. I had chocolate and amaretto flavors in a cup and really enjoyed it. Pretty big patio to sit down and eat which is nice.

This is a cute place in Encinitas for gelato. They serve coffee too. My friend had the Dirty Chai and said it was really good. I tried the gelato, salted caramel and pistachio. Both were really good! They give you a little cookie with it. Their prices are so reasonable too!

Amazing. After stuffing our face at The Taco Stand down the street, we needed, as my dad says, a "topper-offer." Luckily, Gelato 101 was a couple blocks away!I don't frequent gelato by any means. But, hot diggity dawg this place was amazing. If I'm in the area, I will be back for sure! Our favorites were amaretto and biscotti. I think that's what it was called. Amazing! Great service, too

Great spot to come on a hot sunny day! But beware, parking is horrible. There's 2 or 3 spots on the side but are super narrow. Once you find a parking, upon walking to the shop, you'll find a spacious outdoor patio and plenty of seats to enjoy your dessert. We were hungry so we decided on their açaí bowls. $13-$15 seemed steep but boy, the portion is huge. We didn't finish our bowls because we were so full. So, it's honestly a really good price for what you get. It is slightly different than the typical açaí bowls you get at Nekter or other smoothies places but it's loaded with toppings. I enjoyed the interior and would definitely consider returning when I'm on this side of town.
