We had to be responsible adults and go to the bank, this place was within sight of the bank so we thought we'd try it. It was that odd hour halfway between dinner and lunch (we like to call it linner), there was one person at the bar that was gone by the time we finished lunchThe waitress was nice, the place was clean and casual (aren't most BBQ places casual?).We both ordered the Pulled Pork Platter. It was pretty darned good! I used lots of extra sauce, the hubs decided he didn't need it - but added a bit more at the end of his meal. He enjoyed the meal so much he didn't add hot sauce (which is a good tell for him). We frequent SD, it's usually our vacay spot, so we will definitely go again. Thanks for reading my review!

The staff are friendly. The inside was very rustic. Could use some updating. The food was overpriced for the quality. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and the dressing clearly came from a bottle. Nothing special about the chicken. I tried my sister's pulled pork and that was flavorless. It didn't taste like barbecue it tasted it more like boiled pork.I wouldn't recommend this place if you want barbecue.

Everything everyone ordered was hot, fresh and delicious. Large sandwich, burger and entree portions with sides. Very flavorful. I recommend, if with another, to each get a different appetizer because it's fairly shareable....personally, I'd say apps were alright, basic compared to main meal items tho. so I'd prefer to share anyways to get a little better taste of more options The place is cool and clean looking. Awesome decor and bar settings, also large outdoor side patio seating.. and great location between main streets for other eats, hotels and shopping. Service was on point too.

Based on service alone I would not return. Food was subpar. This was the only place after the baseball game that didn't have a wait...which I now understand why.

Came here just for a drink before the game. It was Saturday early afternoon. It was about half full. The setting / environment / ambiance was a little slow and leisurely. There wasn't a rush by anyone. Which is fine. We had a ton of time before the game. Took a look at the menu and took a look at some of the food next to us and it didn't look appetizing at all. The fries looked sad and the meats looked dried / it didn't have a ton of sauce on it. I'd probably never eat here. But I'm sure they could do some pretty decent appetizers. Didn't see any on anyone's table but it's pretty hard to mess up onion rings and nachos.

(Last visited 5/15/2022.) Hanging out in San Diego with some friends and we've been partying all day, but we need a break so we walked past this place so I HAD to stop in to see what it was all about before continuing on with the night.Atmosphere/Appearance: Based right downtown with a very inviting patio/street seating is this gem. We walked right in this very rustic, homey feeling space that made me feel like I was out in the backwoods of Tennessee somewhere, but I loved the character of this place. There's also a modern twist to it as well with the updated bar rail and crispy TVs. So we sat outside to enjoy the good weather along with excellent people watching spots...Service: I can't remember who took care of us, nor can I remember if we had any problems... so... everything must've been okay then, right? Lol.Food: Eh, mid. This is a BBQ spot, so I thought I was going to get some DAWG-ASS wings! I... in fact... did not. I had an order of Buffalo wings and an order of Buffalo. They're just basic-fried chicken wings that are thrown in a basket then sprinkled with sauce. Yes, "sprinkled". My wings weren't even fully covered. Come on man. Yeah, I could've sent them to be covered, but there's sauce on the table so I did what I had to do, but they were okay. Buffalo over BBQ of course, but not by much. I wouldn't get them again. My friend had The Duke Burger which is a thick beef patty, pulled pork, Swiss cheese, BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. He loved it, so it was clear that I made a mistake. Lol. Maybe next time...Value: $17.00 for 8 wings. Nope, not even worth it. Maybe the burger, but maybe next time...In conclusion, eh. I don't know if I'd make a return visit. There are so many restaurants in the area and this one just did not do it for me so I think I'd try elsewhere, but feel free to try this place out on your own! Just don't get the wings, try something else.

I came here during SDCC weekend. The ordering process was easy. We ordered at the cashier, they gave us a number, and we looked for an available table. They were not busy when we arrived, so getting a table was easy. The place has several TVs inside. It is a good hangout place to watch sports with friends.I ordered the Smoked tri-tip sandwich with coleslaw. I was bummed that the tri-tip tasted dry and reheated; it didn't taste fresh at all. It also needed more smokiness flavor and some seasoning. I didn't care much about the coleslaw. It tasted weird. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The service was quick too. The restaurant got busy by the time we finished our food. The staff was cleaning tables after people left. They were busy but still nice in assisting customers with their needs.

After leaving the convention center like a starving zombie, I was lured to Gaslamp BBQ by the smell of sweet and tangy sauce. As soon as you enter you feel like your transported away from a busy Metropolitan area to a mountain cabin in the country. I ordered a cold IPA and the BBQ chicken Ceasar salad. The photo on the menu shows the chickn cut on top, but it was actually served as cut strips on the side, which actually turned out to be better for my personal preference. The ceaser salad is pretty straightforward, lettuce, croutons, and cheese.. but the chicken was very tender juicy and delicious. it seemed to be tossed in sauce after it was grilled so I was able to enjoy the delicious sauce on every bite.My gut wasn't ready to handle pulled pork, but that will be my order next time!

Stopped in here for dinner and was surprised to find the place to be fairly empty. Lots of seating inside with TV's around to watch sports. I went with the Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich with fries for my side. Food was tasty and I liked the thin fries. I was disappointed to find out they didn't have sweet tea. The best they could do was regular tea and then they poured in simple syrup. It was ok, but not the sweet tea I was hoping for. Service was great, but given I was only one of a few people there, I wouldn't have expected anything less.
