Located in the heart of Third Street in Chula Vista is a quaint and endearing little cafe called Galu. My boyfriend and I were visiting relatives when they mentioned that we just had to try their coffee and sandwiches. We ordered the Black Sesame Latte, Matcha Strawberry Latte, and a breakfast croissant sandwich. Not only was the food and location perfect for a sunny Saturday morning, but the customer service was excellent. We had a little hiccup with our order, and they graciously corrected the minor issue with zero fuss. They checked up on us to ensure that our order was satisfactory and were very kind to our party. Delicious food with great service is a rare find now and days. We will definitely be returning. Thank you, Galu!-Samira

Been wanting to try this place after seeing it on social media and finally got the chance to! It's been advertised pretty well on social media so it waas definitely intriguing and caught my eye.Located on 3rd Avenue in Chula Vista, Galuhas a cute little unit. It was a very cute, clean and simple atmosphere. No indoor seating but a decent amount of outdoor seating that has umbrellas or shaded by trees. So you fan definitely meet a friend there for some coffee and talk. Parking is all street parking. Third avenue has a bunch of metered spots or you can snag a spot on the side streets. Not sure if the fortune teller next door will let you use their spots or if kfc across the street will. But we found parking on third avenue really easily.Service was pretty good. I had no issues with the staff in my opinion. They stuck to doing there job, were polite and very patient. So a plus to the staff for doing a great job.Our drinks were okay. I had the strawberry matcha latte and in my opinion I thought the matcha was kinda watered down. My god sisters had the matcha lattes and they also thought it was pretty watered down. My mom got an iced americano and it was also pretty watered down. The drinks were ok but we really enjoyed the food. I had the salmon toast and my mom had the mushroom toast. They were super generous with the amount of mushrooms and salmon and it was flavorful! I really liked it!I would say to still give them a shot. I'm all for supporting local businesses and they definitely deserve the support. I could've just gone on a off day but this place definitely has a lot of potential :)

i love having a cute cafe in the area, which means i don't have to drive a good 10-15 minutes to the second nearest cafe! they have a small variety of drinks with just your basics and a few speciality items, but i feel like the stars were their food items. i had the dirty chai with oat and their breakfast sandwich. i loved their chai! it was refreshing and perfectly sweet, and they don't put too much ice that'll make your drink be watered down after it melts. their breakfast sandwich was alright - i would personally eat it if presented the opportunity, but i would order it again only half of the time. i had a few personal complaints about it but if you're someone who likes these types of sandwiches, i'd highly recommend it! the only other complaint i had was that i ordered two of the same sandwich and they were sent out a few minutes apart, which isn't bad but i understand if there's not enough equipment or room to make two at the same time.i would definitely come here again to try their other drinks and food items. i do warn that there are a few tables for a growing crowd looking forward to trying this place, so definitely come early or take your items to go!

I love the sesame latte drink and the pastries are good! But the service not so much. The lady or owner (not sure) wasn't very welcoming. I'm an introvert, so I understand if people don't like being social. I don't like small talk. But if you're the owner, the LEAST you could do is say hi welcome in. Or a smile. You don't even have to be overly friendly... I'm just asking for BASIC customer service. I wanted an add a shot (I'm a mom and I'm tired) so I asked how many shots come with the latte and instead of answering the question, she just looked annoyed and said "it's pretty strong"... I think if people want an add shot, let them. We're gonna pay for the extra shot anyway. It just feels like she really doesn't want to be there. Which is sad because the coffee itself and food is decent. At first I thought, maybe she was stressed but I came back another time... my husband ordered and got the same experience lol.

I was so excited to see a new coffee shop here on 3rd Ave in Chula Vista, even though there are others very close in proximity. I was looking for something less busy or somewhere that gives better customer service. This place definitely delivered! There is minimal parking in front but right around the corner on Roosevelt there is plenty of parking (not far at all). There are plenty options for drinks as well as food and everything looks delicious. Today I ordered the Cafe de Olla latte iced and it was absolutely exquisite. The Cafe de Olla syrup is made in house and they garnish it with some orange zest on top which adds the perfect flavor combination. I chose this drink based off the owners recommendation and I'm so glad I did. The owners are the ones making the drinks and they are friendly and helpful. This coffee shop is small but I love how intimate it is. There are a couple tables in front and only one small bench to sit on inside. But what more do you need for a personal experience. The tables in front are also nicely shaded by trees. I can't wait to come back and try more drinks, and also try something to eat.

I was not physically present for the interaction my sister had but she mentioned the girl did not acknowledge her even after waiting at the register. Keep in mind it wasn't busy, which selfishly we were happy about because it's always busy when we have passed. Also we were with her son who is not quite so I doubt she just "didn't hear" also the space is extremely small so /:When I entered, the same girl was texting and then quickly looked up and welcomed me in the most dry and annoyed tone (I don't remember what exactly she said since it was a while ago but it was one word). Also when I expressed how excited I was she was, again, she was just like dead inside, absolutely no expression. I asked for a recommendation and she said something along the lines of it's just based on what I like. Like obviously but as a mentioned it was my first time. She could have told me her favorite or a popular drink/food? Like I said, she was probably just having a bad day or just got some bad news. But I never forget a face so hopefully if I go back she's in a better mood.

I love this new gem that popped up on 3rd Ave! It's a small coffee shop with limited seating outside. It's a perfect spot to get work done or take a work break at if you work nearby.Working on 3rd Ave and coming to my chiro appts on 3rd Ave on my days off, it's hard not to pass up a yummy toast, sandwich, or matcha! The service is awesome, friendly, and answers any and all questions you have.I've tried their strawberry matcha, dirty chai latte, and horchata latte and would have to say my favorite is their strawberry matcha. Their drinks are STRONG, so be prepared if you order any of their coffee beverages. So excited to go back to try more of their toasts and sandwiches soon.

Really nice new (small) cafe in Chula Vista opposite the KFC. Drinks are in the $6 dollar range and sandwiches $15 range. Good solid drinks and nicely prepared food that presents well and is tasty. I've been 3 times and enjoyed what I tried.
