Best fish and chips I've ever had!I came here on a Thursday (the day they have their fish and chips special) and I was very impressed! They were not greasy nor oily, in fact they were crispy. Also they were a lot bigger than I expected. On Thursdays they have the all you can eat special but the serving size is massive! I couldn't get past the first basket!I don't even remember having fish and chips this good in London.Service is a little bit slow but it was understandable being that I'm sure most people were there for the special.Outdoor seating has great views! It just gets a bit cold closer to sunset.

I'm genuinely disappointed to write this review. My family and I have been loyal patrons of The Galley at the Marina for years, specifically for the Thursday all-you-can-eat fish and chips special. It's been a tradition for us, and we always looked forward to it.However, our most recent visit left us feeling betrayed. Upon arriving, we noticed that the small chalk sign at the front of the restaurant was a bit vague about the Thursday special, but we didn't think much of it and went ahead with our usual order. It wasn't until we noticed other tables not ordering additional servings of fish that we started to suspect something was off. When I called the host stand to inquire, I was informed that the all-you-can-eat special had been changed to a single serving only. This abrupt and poorly communicated change is really disappointing, especially for those of us who have been long-time customers. We've always enjoyed the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, and the generous portions were part of what made The Galley so special. Sadly, it seems that under the new ownership, the focus has shifted away from the customer experience we used to know and love and is focused solely on profits and cuts.I know our business may not make much of a difference, but after years of being loyal customers, we will no longer be returning. It's a real shame to see such a beloved tradition end on such a sour note.

I'll start off with The food was amazing and always is I came in on Thursday night to get the unlimited fish and chips, only to find that the galley no longer offers that after I had ordered and asked for another basket.. my wife and I are very disappointed as this was our spot out and something that was still affordable for the quality of fish BRING BACK THE ALL YOU CAN EAT FISH & CHIPS ! We don't want to find a new spot :(

I do not get the three-star average. This was the best fish and chips I've had in a long time, maybe ever. And the service could not have been better. I was here with two colleagues from work. They were just having a beer, but I thought I'd get an early dinner. The fish was ultra crispy on the outside, not at all oily, and white and flaky on the inside. The fries were excellent and the salad was top notch. And the price was reasonable considering. The ambience was quite nice, and there is a place for a band to set up. I wasn't in the mood for a band, and there wasn't one today, so I was happy. We stumbled onto this place coming out of the nearby shipyard. Amazing choice.

We stumbled upon this place while taking our dog for a walk along the harbor bay. There's indoor and outdoor seating. There was also a band playing while we were there. It looks like a good place for a good drink and quick bite. They had many seafood options along with cheeseburger and small plates. I tried the Hawaiian spicy poke and it was pretty good. The fish wasn't as fresh, but it wasn't bad. We went there around sunset time so the view was amazing. The service was good as well. The waiter was attentive and even brought something out for our dog. It got pretty busy towards the end so there was some delay in services. This place is good for a nice view, good music, quick drink, and quick bite.

I've been here often for the fish and chips but last night I decided to try something different the Prime Rib Sandwich with onion rings (not cheap) well the onion rings were good the sandwich could have been good if not for the cheap slimy slice of American cheese that overpowered the flavor of the sandwich, for $26 dollar price they could have used a better quality or a different cheese, Could not finish my meal because it was so bad. Not sure if we will return, I feel a lil ripped off. UPDATE..based on the business owners response we will definitely not return.

We came here for breakfast before a flight out of San Diego. We were a party of 4 and arrived before they opened at 9am. Once open we were seated, it surprised me that there were already 4 people seated, and had their drinks. The server who was great explained the hostess, busboy hadn't even arrived so she was flying solo. She then left to seat others. It took awhile to get our coffee and then even longer for our food.So the menu is very limited. I had the basic eggs sausage and hash browns. They were OkMy wife had the Benedict which was very good. It had a thick slice of ham instead of a thin slice of Canadian bacon. My sister in law had the Spinach omelette and said it was ok.My brother ordered the Denver omelette but asked for no peppers or onions so it would basically be a ham and cheese omelette. Unfortunately the omelette came loaded with peppers and onions. He didn't send it back because we were getting pressed for time since it took so long to get our food in the first place. He just begrudgingly tore it apart and ate what he could. As for ambiance, it was clear morning so the view of the marina was charming.Lastly, they add a 4% surcharge. For What? Just add 4% to your prices and call it a day.$122 for a ok breakfast of four. Not sure if I'd return.

We came from dinner. The atmosphere is nice. There was a band playing outside and people dancing to the pop, disco music. We chose to sit inside at a table. Our waitress was very nice. The menu is very small we just ordered the fish and chips and my boyfriend ordered calamari as an appetizer. As far as the food. I wasn't blown away. We ended up sending the calamari strips back. They were chewy and bland. The fish and chips were okay! Our fries were cold and kind of stale. You could tell they weren't fresh because they had no crispness at all. The fish was beer battered but there was no seasoning. I enjoyed the cherry coke and coleslaw more than anything. I probably won't return here but I can say I have tried it.To answer your question Chris... I think it's pretty evident that as a customer of your establishment I would want to enjoy quality food that is hot, seasoned and cooked to order. What we received reflected none of that. At McDonald's I understand that I have to tell them I want hot fries because it's "fast food" but at a nice sit down restaurant I shouldn't have to express that, it should be automatic especially for the price.

Stopped in on Saturday evening to take advantage of their Happy Hour at the bar. Never made it into the restaurant area, but sitting at the bar provides great views of the marina and water. The bartenders and wait staff were very friendly, and took good care of us. Just off the bar is a large, tent covered patio, with live music and dancing. We had a couple Happy Hour drinks, and ordered a couple items from the HH menu: Potato Skins ($8), Zucchini ($7), and Wings ($9). We also wanted to try their Clam Chowder, which I was told is fantastic, but they were out and brought us their Albondigas (Mexican Meatball) Soup ($11) instead. I have to say, it was quite flavorful. The HH food was good, but typical bar food. Happy Hour is Sunday - Wednesday ALL DAY, and Thursday - Saturday 3 - 6 PM.Seems like there are a lot of "regulars" that hang out here, and the atmosphere was lively. Overall, we had a good time, and I'd definitely go back.

Went there for AYCE fish and chips, just to find out that they don t have it anymore, calamari was really good, fish not seasoned as always but adding malt vinegar and lemon makes up for it, was not offered any refills on my rasberry ice tea, so I guess no more refills either and now you get a small cup of slaw, I really like your coleslaw, I think its the best I have ever tastedIt was dissapointing, We have been going since my kids were around 8 or 9 years old, ( my baby is 36 now) Also that new construction doesnt help, bit more dust, but that is understandablePlease bring back AYCE fish and chips, It is like a tradition for us , we have always looked forward to going thereBring it Back !!!!!!
