Update 2/2024 IT'S PIZZA, NOT A PIEBefore I get into this beautiful review about the pizza, I am still very peeved that there are no complimentary drink refills. This is straight up bogus as a consumer because it ain't cheap to eat here. And there's no complimentary bread and butter while you wait for your meal. ...Woosah....Despite that, I'll still patronize this business. The food is flavorful, plentiful, and I always leave satisfied and satiated. The varied pasta selections and different sauces is more than what one's palette can take. You would need several visits over a long period of time and you will enjoy every single one, unless you're thirsty, lol. This time around...I ordered pizza. Some people eat pizza every single day, I eat it about once every few months and when I do I come here. I ordered the Gaetano's Special. I want my pizza to have toppings, flavor and a crisp crust. I like when the cheese and toppings dance together for a full party in my mouth. Gaetano's consistently meets the expectation. Honestly, I don't even think about going to another pizza spot because when you're craving, get what you crave and depend on, instead of getting something else. For those language specific this is a pizza, not a pie."Pizza is like the entire food pyramid in one bite." - Unknown#juken123#gaetanospizza#wewantrefills

This place has gone down hill. They remodeled the building and it's a poor setup. I live close and called in my order for pick-up, one large pepperoni and sausage pizza. I showed up right on time to pick up my order and per the usual, the entry was crammed with customers standing around. No discernible order line, no pick up area, it's a mess. I waited 25 minutes past my pick up time to even get to the register. The staff seemed like they had no idea what was going on. A girl took an order and then disappeared to make a salad. This was a frustrating ordeal and I told myself "never again" the last time. When I FINALLY got my pizza, it had 2 1/2" of crust before the cheese and toppings started. Ridiculous. Bad service and a poorly made pizza. This will be my last time going here.

Yo, listen up, paisanos Captain 619 here! Our crew recently paid a visit to this joint, a first for us in these parts. Let me tell ya, Kelly, our server, was a real class act. She was quick on her feet, serving up an experience that was as smooth as a well-oiled Tommy gun. Now, the joint's ambiance didn't exactly scream Italian, but the tunes that were playing, oh boy, they were straight outta Sicily. And let me tell ya, the flavors of the grub were just as authentic. I'm talkin' about the real deal, capisce? If you find yourself in the neighborhood, I strongly advise you to give this place a whirl. I went for a calzone, made to order, mind you, while my queen opted for the chicken Parmesan, served with a side of spaghetti and gravy, or as we like to call it, marinara sauce. The portions were generous, filling us up like a safe full of cash. And to top it off, they even threw in some complimentary bread, a nice touch, if you ask me.So, if you're lookin' for a taste of Italy that'll make you an offer you can't refuse, this joint is the real deal. Go ahead, make your taste buds an offer they can't refuse. Capisce?

Great classic Italian food. This place is known for their great pizza. Their pesto pizza is one of my favorites. Other top items include spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, and pasta primavera (I skip the cream sauce and just do garlic and olive oil). Their bread and butter is also served warm. Yum! The main downfall is the ambience- just the set up of the tables, it gets very loud. My only other thought that would improve would be to get a better selection of wines to go with the great food. Right now it's limited to a house brand of just a couple types. Other than that, this is a great family spot!

We ordered 2 large pizzas, a chicken parm sandwich, and fettuccine alfredo and everything was delicious as always. We usually get pizza here, and we've lived in Spring Valley for 3 years and we haven't been disappointed from the food here! My favorite is the chicken parm sandwich!

I'm not sure why I gave this place a 4 star in the past because out of all of San Diego I think this place has the best pizza.I've tried a lot of pizza places and this one is my favorite. Obviously I like other spots as well but nothing beats this place when it comes to pizza.I like other things as well like their antipasto salad and my wife loves their Sicilian eggplant. Ultimately I've been coming to this place since I was a kid (Over 30 years).I've lived all over San Diego and tried lots of pizza places, if you haven't tried this one then you simply haven't had the best pizza in San Diego. They recently remodeled the place so the atmosphere is nicer than it was but I don't come here for the ambiance- although it's pleasant. The service is always good, the servers are great- most have been there for awhile. I very much recommend this place- especially for pizza.Happy eating!

Heard about this place from someone and decided to check it out. Atmosphere is nothing to rave about, but the service was good and the food even better. We went for lunch and ordered both a pizza and a pasta selection (they have a daily special) and agreed we'd return for either. The crust on the pesto pizza was perfect; crunchy, light and chewy, and the sauce on the stuffed shells was nicely seasoned. Winner winner chicken dinner (and while I didn't have it, I bet the chicken parmigiana is most delish as well)! Will definitely be back.

Recently ordered take out. I hadn't previously loved this place when we had eaten in but it has been at least a year and I don't know if the cooks have changed but the food was great. Got the carbonara, eggplant Parmesan and chicken Alfredo and everything was exactly as I was expecting. Will definitely come back in and try again!
