I have no idea how to pronounce this name, but we went for happy hour. I love sushi happy hour, I'll order everything. And in this occasion, the happy hour menu was small enough that I did in fact order every food on that menu. The sushi hit the spot, the dumplings did also, the price hit the spot even more. You want more privacy? They got booths that have a screen you can close. It's so well decorated in there I don't even feel like I'm Boston. And all the servers was great.

Since my previous review 10 years ago, ownership and menu have changed. I always feel cramped in their Shoji (Japanese sliding door) rooms, and their tables on the main floor are separated by bamboo, which don't move. There was more ambiance in the old bar room than the main dining room. We also disliked the waiter constantly walking by the table to determine when we were done, and quickly removing the empty plates, swiftly bringing the check. We thought the fish was good, not great; definitely not spectacular! I'd say a solid 'meh'. Perhaps it was a bad night?

We stopped by this restaurant since the wait for another nearby restaurant was too long. The environment here was nice, and reminiscent of the more traditional seating in Japanese restaurants. The sushi itself was average; we had gotten the kaze makimono combo, which ended up being enough for about 5 people. However, I probably would rather go to another sushi restaurant in Boston over this!

The restaurant itself is really unique. Everyone was wearing traditional Japanese clothing, even down to the shoes. We were seated with a paper partition that you'd find in Japan. The sushi itself was okay, nothing special in my opinion and kind of overpriced. The only thing that I was like wow about was the kamameshi pot with short rib. The flavor of the beef was so savory and delicious and very tender. There was a lot of rice in there unexpectedly and it had lots of mushrooms to make the dish more robust. It also came with this seafood soup that came in a teapot and was really good. We got multiple cups worth and got to eat the seafood once the broth was all gone And for dessert we got the matcha fried ice cream and tiramisu. Also nothing really special about these desserts. If you do come here, come here for the Kamameshi, the only thing that made this place special food wise

This place reminded me of the anime "Demon Slayer" because of the wooden Japanese booths, along with the employees wearing kimonos. It was a really nice environment and quiet, which was nice for date night! The food overall was solid and yummy, and it was overpriced BUT the price was somewhat justified for the quantity of food that came out and you're paying for the experience. We thought it was worth it!The employees were super friendly and responsive if needed. There are also buttons that come with each booth to call the waiter if needed (reminds me of home). Overall, I would recommend this place for a nice date night/dinner plans.

The person answering the phone is so rude. The food was good. The service not as attentive as I would have liked, just ok. The place is nicely decorated.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. The place is more grandiose than I expected, especially with the decor and two floors. The menu is extensive and it was difficult to decide what to get! We settled on the spicy salmon maki, the Futo maki, and the chicken katsu curry. Spicy salmon- not a solid piece of salmon, rather a mushy consistency, and not spicy at all. But good flavor! Futo- had Japanese pickles, crabstick, spinach, mushrooms, fish powder. Spinach overpowered it, but otherwise the roll lacked flavor where I expected more going on.Chicken katsu curry- it was my first time trying this dish, and I loved it, it was a perfect comfort dish. The chicken wasn't overly breaded or too crispy and was perfectly tender. The curry was basically a gravy with cubed carrots and potatoes (I think) and wasn't spicy. Would get again! I also got a lychee martini, which was very simple, refreshing, and not too sweet. Service was quick even on a fairly busy Friday night. I'd recommend making reservations, and I'd come back!

Service was prompt and polite. The appetizers were not large but enough. The drink, Forbidden Love, was fruit punch and a lot of alcohol. The entrees were decent but you got my friends totally wrong. She was starving so did not want to raise a fuss. The interior of the restaurant was very nice albeit very 1964.

The setting is one of a kind and unexpected. Super spacious inside and had lots of private rooms for you to reserve. The private rooms definitely make your meal feel more intimate and quiet. We mostly ordered sushi while we were here. The cuts are super thick and tastes fresh. The wait staff were also super friendly as we were celebrating a birthday and was able to cut the cake there. Food was overall a little pricey but I think you're mostly paying for the ambiance.

Very disappointing, got the seafood noodle soup which was very meh and barely any real seafood. A piece of fish cake and maybe a shrimp. Definitely not worth the 30 bucks it costs. The waitress was very off putting too, she rushed us when there was barely anyone in there. I would save your money and go somewhere better.
