Came here on a trip to the Whidbey island on a Monday morning and had a great time. The service is great, they don't take reservations but we were promptly shown to a table within 10 minutes of arriving for lunch. Must try- penncove mussels. We tried the coconut gravy and they were delicious!!We also tried their black bean burger and it did not disappoint at all! My partner tried the beef patty burger with bacon and he was extremely satisfied with his meal as well.Definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood

Absolutely love the mussels here! We just grabbed an order of white wine mussels to go and got our order in about 15-20 minutes. We walked around the street to bide our time. As for the food, I love the simple flavor of the acidic wine paired with the fresh mussels. And then you must dip their garlic bread in the juice to soak up all the flavors! Will definitely be coming back to try more!

The food here is amazing. I had the sea bass and my brother had the cioppino. Amazing! Staff was great. We were visiting from out of state. First time to Whidbey Island. The best.

Reminder to self: do not return. Terrible food. Slow and room temperature upon arrival. Super crowded bc water view. Great friendly server otherwise nothing memorable and subpar food. Will not return when visiting Coupeville.

During the month of October (the only time of the year we find ourselves in Coupeville), getting a table at Front Street Grill is a bit of a challenge. The quoted wait times are usually between 35-45 minutes (despite empty tables visible from the lobby). That's probably why we've never stopped in for anything more than drinks, despite multiple attempts. Reservations are very recommended! The food looks great, the service is competent and friendly, and the cocktails are creative and priced similarly to other places in the area. They also hold regular fixed course meals and other special events, many of them reservation only, so be sure to check their calendar, and budget accordingly. A great family/minor friendly place to dine in Coupeville, assuming you can snag a table! If you're out-of-towners like us, plan ahead and save yourselves the wait!

I'm in Coupeville 5x to 6x per year, and when here and looking for a great restaurant meal the Front Street Grill does not disappoint. The service is great. Dining room is attractive and clean with a great view of the water. And the menu has something for everyone, though lets be clear, the Penn Cove Mussels are the star of the show. There are a half dozen options on the menu for how they are prepared. I've tried every one and each are terrific so I guess it just depends on how you're feeling that day. And the freshness is truly enhanced by knowing that when you look out the window you're literally looking directly at where the mussels came from.If for some reason you're not in the mood for mussels then I'd recommend the burger, the chowder, or any of the salads. The raw oysters are also great.

On a Monday, my only day off, I decided to check out Whidbey Island and what a great roll of the dice that turned out to be, downtown Coupeville is storybook cute complete with old buildings, antiques and a slower pace, I walked in and was amazed at how wonderful the place looked, I was sat at a window overlooking the sound, tremendous view, and then there's Marina, twice as beautiful as the view and very helpful, she knows how to interact with guests, Great service. She gave me the choices of what to not miss on the menu, first, bruschetta with shrimp, about as good as it gets, out of all the ways you can have mussels, she leaned toward the green curry, I probably wouldn't have picked them but the broth was not typical at all it was something like unborn baby virgin goats milk or definitely something from heaven or a great chef just showing off, oh and get the garlic bread with it, forget any diet, you're welcome. I finished with the tomahawk and let me tell you, it was worth the drive from Olympia, if I'm here next Monday, I'll be back, I'm going to look into property, or boat life

The wait was about 25 minutes, maybe due to it being a gov holiday. We had the chopped salad with chicken and Bobby's burger with onion rings and a side of fries. The food was so good! Our server was very nice and friendly. We sat inside near the entrance, so the only thing that would have made the experience better would have been sitting near the water.
