Worth a visit while visiting the zoo.A good selection of food and drinks and are all reasonably priced. My son loves their kettle popcorn and ice cream.I like that most items are refillable.Service is fast. The dining tables and counters are always clean.I'll be back soon.

We both went with their decent Taco Salad with chicken. Typical zoo food offerings at Front Street Cafe; burgers, burritos, tacos, etc. But nothing's cheap at the San Diego Zoo so be prepared to spend. You'll find this eatery in the front of the zoo.

Hubs and I grabbed lunch here about 2 hours into our visit to the San Diego zoo. I ordered your basic soft pretzel with cheese and he ordered a beer and a burrito meal. Pretzel hit the spot and I finished the black beans and rice that came with the burrito. Rice and beans were pretty bland, but not horrible. We spent about $30 for everything. Large seating area with plenty of tables.

It's a park, people. Deep fryers and freezers. This place had a mix of Mexican and ballpark food. It was mediocre. But believe me you I have had worse in my travels and at parks. We wee hungry, this solved the problem We went out later to Cucina Urbana for real food, because that's what smart people do. I went to the ZOO for the ANIMALS. They were cool, BTW. Fill the void, reduce the stomach growls, and go out later for food.

Stopped by here with the family for a quick bite before venturing out to see the animals. This the worst in park (any type) meal I have ever had. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular as this is a casual little cafe. If you like eating something that tastes like roadkill that had been frozen then reheated in a microwave, than this is the place for you! We even had a post meal prayer to the food poisoning gods asking for their mercy since we were certain the "food" we had just consumed under the duress of hunger would come back to haunt us. The zoo itself is amazing. You think they would seek food suppliers that can provide edible food for the masses.

Seriously I don't get all the bad reviews. 99% of all theme park food is mediocre at best. I'm basing my review on this premise. I had the fish tacos which were ok. They gave a sliver of lime per taco which amounted to 3 drops of juice. The beans were better and had some flavor. The rice was rather bland. My husband got the nachos wurh salsa and guacamole. They both had a kick of garlic that sunk in after a second. For dessert, my husband got bunuelo. (My keyboard doesn't have tilde for the n). Anyways, that was the best part. For those who have never had it, bunuelo is a crispy tortilla covered in sugar and cinnamon -similar to a churro. Here, they put vanilla ice cream on top which I found weird but after tasting it. It was yummy! Not enough to justify 4 stars overall but I would give the dessert 5 stars.

The food was so amazing I've had the carne Asada taco salad and the chicken strips and fries and the bacon cheeseburger and it's honestly the most amazing food ever I love it

We looked at the zoo map and saw there was a restaurant that sold Mexican food, so we took the lift all the way to the other side of the park JUST so we could have Mexican food here. Overpriced. Cafeteria food quality. Not many options. And the burritos only had two ingredients. A tortilla with just meat and beans? No thanks. So I got the chicken sandwich which was also overpriced. Not good, unfresh. Lettuce was probably old. Ugh, mistake. A lot of the other food places smelled so good too. :( do yourself a favor and don't make this mistake!!!

Barely a two star. San Diego Zoo- please step it up on food quality and employee service quality.Your food service employees don't care about what they are doing. Why can't you get the same training and enthusiasm for your food service employees as you have for your animal folks? Dry beans, dry rice. No flavor. Could barely eat them. Chicken Tostada "Special" was pathetic. Could not find the chicken. Basically a cold slab of beans on a overlooked tortilla covered with low quality guacamole.Fish tacos were 2+. Marginally better than everything else.Spent $60 and got two hot sauce packets.Recommend you walk a block or two and get food outside the park- or bring food into the park.So sad.
