Amazing tea selection and variety (they do their own), loved the kinds with Szechuan peppercorn! The staff were super knowledgeable and helpful in selection. Lovely shop. Would come again and recommend to friends. As an aside, they claim they are the gayest tea shop on the west coast...I live near the Castro so

Friday Afternoon is my favorite place. I love trying all their teas, and have a long list of what my favorite teas are. I was ordering from them online even before I moved close enough to visit. They are really good about accommodating my allergy. Their staff are delightful people who are all really knowledgable about the teas they sell. The shop is very cute with plants, fairy lights, and displays. They have a good amount of tables and chairs for hanging out by yourself or with friends. They even have a variety of treats and snacks, which come from local small businesses. Don't miss out on the macarons if they have them in stock when you're there. I strongly recommend visiting for so many reasons, even if it's just a cup of tea to go. You won't regret it.

I recently learned of this place through Eventbrite (they offer various events at the cafe and definitely recommend checking out their upcoming events). In particular, I learned about their chess club and decided to give it a try.Chess club was super fun. It was a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. 4 of us showed up, and one of the barista's was super helpful at explaining the rules of chess and offered to play with us as well. We ended up getting our iced tea and playing chess outside bc it was a nice evening out.The tea was phenomenal and they had a good variety of flavors. The barista was also helpful at helping me narrow in on what I want (ended up getting a tropical fruit tea and 10/10 would recommend!).Overall, lovely experience. Can't wait to go again!

Several of the folks I've talked to who work there are friendly and it's a cute space with a nerdy/queer vibe. I've gone in sometimes just out of curiosity to taste their teas that day, you can ask them for recommendations if you're indecisive like me, and they'll let you taste ones on their shelf too -- makes me think of an ice cream shop but for tea!I like tea and their tea selection is really fun! I'm not a tea connoisseur though and when I realized they had cream (dairy and non-dairy) and sugar it was a game changer. XD They don't have a ton of seating, but they have some inside and a bit outside (I don't remember how protected from rain it is though). I often walk by and see a group of people playing a game together inside, so maybe a good place for a board game / D&D group?

The teas are amazing. The people are lovely, and if you're into such a thing that discord group is very active and welcoming.

I did not know where else to leave this review so I figured I'd do it here. This is specifically for the tea itself, as I live in California and haven't been to their brick and mortar store. I found Friday on TikTok through her "name game" that she does (for those unaware, the store owner Friday has lexical gustatory synesthesia, meaning she can taste words and concepts, and often uses this to create her tea blends) and was really intrigued by a tea she had made in homage of Freddie Mercury/Queen. When I realized she sold teas online, I quickly bought several bags (the Holy Trinitea for my best friend, and the Olympus, Goblin King and Pomegranate Black teas for myself). Shipping took about a week but that's to be expected, and given the state of the world completely acceptable. But I just got my teas today and OH MY GOD. They are EXQUISITE. You can tell she uses high quality tea leaves to create the blends she has in stock. I brewed three cups worth of the pomegranate black tea first, following the instructions and using water heated to 212°F and steeping the leaves for four minutes. First cup went to my husband, since he's sick with a sinus infection and he would definitely benefit from a nice mug of tea. Second cup went to my best friend because he had just gotten off work, and last one went to me. The black tea perfectly complements the pomegranate and safflower oil, not too heavy or overbearing, and makes me feel like curling up by the window with a good book. I haven't tried the rest yet but judging from the smell of the packets alone, they're going to be incredible. Safe to say I found my new favorite tea shop and will be buying from Friday Afternoon more often. I wish I lived in Seattle so I could come and check the store out in person!

Delicious blends and friendly staff. They were super-helpful picking out teas as a gift for my brother, and the atmosphere in the store is cozy if you want to read a book or chat with a friend over a cup. They might ask you to mask up in store & will kindly provide a disposable mask if they do. They have rotating seasonal options as well as year-round blends. I particularly love their more unusual brews, like the ones with tomato or chilis. I've found some magical teas there. I look forward to the winter rotation! The only "problem": when I visit, I always find at least one more thing I want!

The gentleman who was working was super rude and pushy as soon as I walked in the door. And when I had questions about the tea, he continued to have an attitude and talk condescending. Not coming back

Person working there was rude and condescending. Have been treated better by homophobic bartenders in WI, super ironic to me considering the sign outside. Tea isn't very flavorful either.
