Excellent late Brunch on a Sunday with a party of 4 at 1:00pm. I've been to Frida Room in Pilsen and was excited to have a location closer in Lincoln Park. The space is open and modern with such a great ambiance, and the menu is delicious, creative!, and boasts a wonderful balance between Mexican and American dishes. They were pretty busy and the meals took a while, but it was well worth the wait and the service was good overall.Absolutely Love: Mexican Toast, Molletes, and the Azteca Coffee. Eager to try? The Art District Burger - (um excuse me, blueberry compote and strawberries with my beef? Sign me up!) - I'll update when I do!Seems to still be BYOB and charges a $15 "corkage fee" - though I think it's working on the liquor license - it has an excellent bar, so I do hope so. Lovely for brunch and lunch!

I couldn't decide if I wanted to give this place a 3.5 or 4, so I rounded up.My 4 friends and I came here on a Saturday afternoon for brunch to check this restaurant out for the first time. We were attracted to the great variety of food items available. We also liked the beautiful decor. At the time, the online menu wasn't clear as to whether they served alcoholic drinks, but they did have an alcoholic drink menu available in person when we visited in May of 2024. My meal was good, but nothing about it was memorable. I don't get avocado toast at restaurants very often, but I've had some amazing ones at other restaurants where they really elevate the flavor and put their own spin on the dish. That wasn't the case at Frida's. I may need to give this another chance and try a different dish in the future.

Frida Room opened in the neighborhood just two weeks ago. They serve breakfast, brunch and lunch. The food is authentic, delicious and I can't wait to go back. I started off with an Azteca coffee (a delicious blend of espresso, chocolate, cinnamon and chile - soooooo good). The Huevos Rancheros were perfection. I especially enjoyed the crispy tortilla. My friend had chilaquiles and we split an appetizer of Mexican Toast (like avocado toast, but better). The service was excellent and the owner, Angel, stopped by our table. This place is a standout in terms of food and overall experience. Right now it is BYOB, but the restaurant has a beautiful bar and is awaiting a liquor license. They take reservations (yeah) and we had no problem finding on street parking.

Incredibly kind staff and amazing food! They know how to cook their steak (they will ask you how you want it--I got a delicious and juicy medium rare) and loved the Mexican breakfast items (literally can't go wrong with anything you choose). Refillable coffee service throughout. BYOB for now until they get their liquor license (though there is a BYOB charge that's listed on the menu). They are new and currently have $5 off and free coffee coupons they're giving away. Definitely check this place out. I've come back twice already and will be coming back again soon!

I really wanted to like this place. The store front is beautiful inside and has huge open sliding doors that give on to the street. The staff is really friendly. They sat us down right away. Two waiters and a buser all came up to us to try and help so everyone was super eager which was nice. They even brought us a bowl of water for our dog. Unfortunately the quality of the food was the one big downside. I ordered a salad it was drowned in dressing, the spinach leaves were wilted and too many candied pecans overpowered what could have been an elegant healthy veggie option. We shared the queso fundido which was tasty but had cooled and congealed into a big chunk of cheese. My husband liked the carne asada tacos. I ordered the fajitas. There weren't a lot of veggie options. The veggies were overcooked and lacked flavor. The rice and beans were decent but again not very rich in flavor. Overall a nice place to be with great service and vibe but the food needs to be tightened up especially in Chicago in this neighborhood. There is so much good food that to stand out things have to be perfect.

Made reservations to the Frida room since my wife loves Frida. The place is small and very clean with a lot of Frida decor. The service is great and very attentive. My wife ordered the enfrijoladas with chicken and I tried a piece and wow delicious. It has like a cheese quesadilla stacked with a couple tortillas dipped in beans and has cheese on top and the eggs. Then the chicken with the enfrijoladas amazing touch. The Chivito sandwich is amazing as well it like a mini torta I would say but the taste is great. The chicken sandwich is good wasn't a fan of the white toast would be better on the chivito bread but still great taste. The meat lover's skillet was alright, the potato's lacked seasoning even salt and the ham had a flavor that tasted like ham gone bad so I didn't say anything I just didn't eat it. I will say the enfrijoladas were the best and the chivito sandwich. The chicken sandwich is not bad but just change the bread. I'm sorry but meat lovers wasn't good at all. The Aztec coffee is worth the price, it is very tasty and it has a kick of chili but and a tasteful way. The hot coconut latte so delicious worth the money. It tastes like the Mexican coconut cookies dipped in coffee. The horchata water tasted like the one you make from the little packs. Not recommended. I loved the decor on the walls and the super clean restaurant. The staff was super nice and the food was great. Even though I didn't like the meat lover's skillet and the horchata I'm still giving it a five star because the rest of the food was super delicious and the staff was amazing.

I came here with a party of 7 shortly after opening. The atmosphere is airy and the decor is a modern take on Mexican. The menu has lots of options including Mexican dishes and traditional American. The food came out fast and it was delicious. The service is top notch. The woman that greeted and served us was a joy. Everyone in my group agreed this was a home run.

I ordered the chilaquiles. The dish itself tasted amazing but was immediately soggy and did not look very aesthetically pleasing. The server who was refilling coffee was amazing and on it. She refilled my cup seconds after I finished the last one. Unfortunately our server was very slow and didn't really check in on us. It took a very long time to get the check and the restaurant wasn't very busy. Overall I really enjoyed the food and the ambience is unique.

It is frustrating and disappointing. When you spend a lot of money for a meal that isn't good. That was my experience although the customer service was decent for what I spent I did not get my moneys worth. The chicken was cold. It lacked flavor so I had to get full off of Chips and salsa because I could not finish the meal. It was not enjoyable. I enjoy the atmosphere, but I will not be returning.
