I am a big fan of Asian cuisine. Cheap, expensive, I pretty much like it all. This restaurant has proven to be the exception. I was extremely disappointed. Today my wife and I decided to try this place out for lunch. Our first clue should have been that there was only one other customer there during what should have been their lunch rush. I ordered the sweet and sour pork, the orange chicken, tofu vegetables and fried rice. My wife ordered teriyaki chicken and orange chicken. This is the only time that I can recall either of us throwing away a meal largely uneaten. The sweet and sour pork tasted so bad, I spit it out. The sauce for the orange chicken tasted fine, but the chicken itself was oily and the texture felt odd, like as if it wasn't cooked all the way. The tofu vegetables (string beans) were meh. My wife hated the fried rice; I thought it was sub par, but edible.I will never return and I would discourage anyone else from doing so as well.

I don't like this place, but my husband does. It's filthy in here ... the floors, the chairs, behind the counter. Yuck. I never want to eat here again.

I want to give this place more stars but I just can't because I've had way better food elsewhere. They could use more lighting, and better quality ingredients instead of cheap stuff. I think the people are nice but the food isn't memorable. Fried rice is good though. There are other places in the mall that offer better food at around the same price so only try this place if you're feeling adventurous.

First, let me say that the customer service was wonderful and I really appreciated that, as it's hard to find. That said, I have nothing else good to say about this place. My husband and I drove by and spotted this restaurant. It looked like a nice little chinese food place. The second we stepped in, I knew we were in trouble. They had no Air-Conditioning and it was 103 degrees outside. However, we'd already loaded our infant into his stroller, from his carseat and didn't want to go through the whole process again. So, we ordered our food. It didn't look very good, at all, but sometimes the looks of chinese food can be deceiving. It was very cheap - They gave you, I swear, two lbs. of food for $5. The food was absolutely disgusting. My husband and I normally are not picky, at all, but this food was pretty much inedible. After a few bites, we left the restaurant. We took the food with us, as to not be rude, because the service the owners had provided was VERY good and I felt bad. That said - The thought of eating this food again is absolutely nauseating. Don't waste your time, seriously. If you are extremely poor and do not care if something tastes good and are simply looking for something to fill you up, this is your restaurant.

Zhu Hai has one of the best deals in the Fresno/Clovis area right now. $2.99 buys you lunch or dinner. I usually get steamed rice - a lot of it - and Orange Chicken. The amount you get depends on who serves it up. Other meals are reasonably priced. When you eat there it seems to me that you get a little more food than if you take it out. It's nice to have a Chinese place with good prices during this recession.

Food is not safe to eatI have eaten here several times because I work at the mall where this restaurant is located and they serve large quantities of food for a cheap price. However, I've never been a fan of the quality. The food (especially the meat) doesn't taste very good and it looks like it's been sitting in the warmers for a very long time. I'd like to mention I have heard from coworkers that they have felt sick after eating there and have seen rats in the past. I understand, though, that buildings some times have pest problems and it may not have to do with the cleanliness of the restaurant itself.Despite the quality of food, I chose to eat there because I didn't want to spend too much money and I was really hungry. I had the rice and the pork pot stickers (because the meat entrees looked unappetizing to me). That is the last time I will ever eat there. After eating one and a half pot stickers I noticed some pink in the pork. I split the meat stuffing apart and the center was COMPLETELY raw. It was not only a little pink, it was squishy, like raw meat, and I even found some raw fat in there. I spit the food out immediately. I know mistakes happen but, I don't think this was an isolated case. I honestly think the people are being irresponsible and lazy about the way they take care of the food. I'm not insulting them personally, they are nice people and they gave me my money back. My only problem with this restaurant is that I feel they are unsafely handling food. I was told that this location was taken up by new owners and since then the quality of food has been bad. I'm not the only one who has complained about this place.

This place is own by very friendly family! I usually order a three entree plates for like $6 and is more than enough for two people! Few review said the place is filthy that's because the family cannot afford to hire any staffs due to the great low prices the restaurant is offering to the community!!
