We were met with adorable towel swans when we walked into the room. Check out the picture. What a warm welcome and a cute idea! The best thing about Yosemite Redbud Lodge is that it is so close to Yosemite National Park and the Tioga Pass area. It was about a 10 minute drive to the park gate. We left the Inn around 7:30 am to avoid the summer traffic. Also, there is a gas station on the way. Just in case you have to fill up before you go to the park.To check in and receive your keys, you have to go two miles up the road to the Cedar Lodge Inn. At this location, they have a pool, a small store, and a restaurant. This is accessible to all Red Bud guests. Our room was very large and had a mini kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator, a gas stove, and a microwave. It didn't have a dishwasher or central air. It did have an AC window unit.It had nice thick towels, full bottles of Suave body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. One random thing some forks, knives, and spoons were left on the bedside table. I'm not sure what that was about.

The view of the mountain and river right in front of the hotel. Quiet. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The room was clean. Small and quaint. We will stay again. The price was right

Very quiet and serene setting. The view from the room was beautiful and we almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. You can hear cars driving, but simply turning on the You do have to drive maybe 5min (max) down the road to check in at Cedar Lodge and there isn't staff at the actual Red Bud Lodge. It was not a problem at all but other people who have reviewed seemed to be caught off guard or irritated by this. So, be prepared. We had great interactions with the staff, they were very courteous and responsive when we had questions. There was a wildfire close by and the road was closed right at RedBud and the staff was very communicative when we had questions regarding what was going on. It's the middle of nowhere, you will NOT have cell service or WiFi. And that's ok, just prepare for it rather than be irritated by it.

Preparation is key. There is no wifi and no cell reception. Check in is at the cedar lodge 3 min down highway 140. The hotel has 10 units including a bigger cabin unit. It is right across the street from the beautiful Merced river and it's a nice view to wake up to. The walls are kinda thin I think we heard our neighbors leaving really early in the morning for their hike. The room was clean and smelled fresh like cleaning products. Sheets were clean. We brought our own set of sheets and pillows regardless cuz we're spoiled. Bathroom and kitchen are dated but clean and cozy. Tv was a flat screen which is pretty cool. The other tent cabin lodging I've stayed at (half dome village) had no tv. We got a sweet deal on the room $79 bucks plus tax on hotels.com. Definitely stay at the red bud over the cedar lodge. I've heard nothing but negative reviews and when I was checking in their lobby was full of people complaining that the hotel had its water cut off. Their hot tub/ pool area was also shut down. Red bud was a great stay we are definitely coming back. You can pay $130-$150 and stay at a tent cabin in half dome village with no tv and and mediocre food options. Half dome village is also much more convenient inside the park a 30 min drive from red bud. We opted to save a few bucks and have more in room amenities. It's all about the prep. I feel like I owe it to people who are planning to stay here to show em how to do it right. So many people got blindsided because they didn't plan ahead and they didn't have a great stay like we did. Some tips:-If you want to have a good hot meal after your hike, bring the kitchen and cooking stuff with you. They provide basic pots and pans etc but we preferred to bring our kitchen with us in a small box. They provide small portable stove tops so you can cook. The bbqs were rusty so don't bother with those. Bring some good food and booze. We made a full steak dinner and we're sippin wine living the life. Others who were unprepared ate cold turkey sandwiches from the cedar lodge gift shop. Bring a cooler(s) of ice!!!-bring a blueray disc player or something to connect to the tv (i.e. PlayStation etc..) We we're chillin eating steak watching some Oscar winners -bring booze. Lots of booze. There ain't shit to do out there. -bring your own towels, sheets, etc if you want but the ones they provided were clean enough. We brought our own just in case-there's no wifi so print maps for the park and how to get in and out of the valley ahead of time at home

Rustic, yet cozy and practical! Great location close to Yosemite and view of Merced river. So this hotel is more of 3.5 star deal but I think it worked well for us and I don't want to discourage you from booking. PLAN AHEAD and bring supplies! Some people said they had coupons for sub $100 rates. We paid around $135/night. Maybe April is beginning of peak season?PROS: pretty clean inside, friendly, helpful staff, right across from Merced river with a nice deck and patio furniture so you can dine al fresco, decent and functional kitchenette. Cozy and comfortable. Location! 20-30 min from park gate.CONS: No WiFi, no landline, a bit run down, check-in is 3 miles up the road. Far away from everything. Shower had some light mold, one of beds was partially broken.I stayed here for two nights in April with my husband and 9 year old son. I chose it for location and kitchenette features. Thanks to other reviewers I planned ahead and BROUGHT FOOD and kitchen supplies. We ate all our meals in the room and made sandwiches for visiting park. I brought my InstantPot and some basic kitchen tools. We had full hot meals and it was no problem! Didn't bother with restaurants. They provide you with a double hot plate, some basic kitchen tools & utensils, mini fridge, toaster, microwave, dishes and cleaning stuff. NO pots but a stainless steel frying pan is there. There is a nice hiking trail that we didn't get to because we prioritized the park and it rained during our stay. I'm told there is a manager on site 24/7. No idea which cabin but they have a landline. So I guess if you needed something they could help you.If we come back my son wants to stay at Cedar Lodge up the road (they own Redbud). I love the deck, view of the river and kitchenette at Redbud. Cedar has a gift shop. We bought bottled water at reasonable prices! Enjoy your stay

Probably a 3-star motel anywhere else, but this close to Yosemite NP I'm giving them an extra star for comfort and convenience. We needed a place close to Glacier Point, and the El Portal corridor on Highway 140 suited our purposes. Red Bud Lodge is about 50 minutes from Glacier Point, and is a good choice when all your other options in Yosemite Valley are closed. There are a few quirks you need to know about: NO WI-FI, no cell service, TV reception is grainy. However, we came to Yosemite NP to "unplug," so not being connected for one day wasn't an issue. (The 3-star reviews on Trip Advisor all complain about lack of phone + internet service)Check in and check out is done at "Cedar Lodge" about 2.5 miles up the road.Guests at Red Bud Lodge are allowed to use all of the services at that main Lodge, including pool etc.Rooms are enormous with two queen beds. Bathroom was huge. Every room has a full kitchenette with hot plate(s), microwave, fridge, sink, and complete set of dishes, utensils, and pots/pans.

We stayed here last night, and to our surprise, we were upgraded to the log cabin. Can't say enough about how awesome that cabin was. Well appointed, huge double shower, hot tub, king size bed, and back porch over looking at the Merced River. Can't say how the regular rooms are, but we loved the cabin. Great customer service, even though you need to drive up the road 3 miles to check in. Highly recommended.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Their reviews on Expedia are horrible! For a good reason, the management is unreasonable and unbearable. They have ridiculous cancellation fees, not matter the circumstances. Absolute HELL HOLE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I was in room 324 with my family. I never never NEVER been to a room in such a disaster condition. I can under the no WiFi thing but no phone service? What if I had to call 911? The check-in lady just shudders and said "you have to drive 2miles, pay a fee and then use the local phone." I don't know if there's a law requirement to have atleast a 911 emergency hotline. When we were there. We had a sign that said the place is evicted. It was for the Yosemite fire that happened months ago. When we got our rooms, the bathroom door didn't close well, the toilet couldn't flush. We don't have basic toiletries like soap and shampoo. There were bugs everywhere. We lost power on the 2nd night.Crappiest place to stay.
