We love this place! We have been staying here in the summers for the last 6 years or so. They have full hook-ups in each site, the bathrooms and showers are always clean and tended to. You can't choose your spot anymore so if you have young kids, see if you can be placed somewhere off the main road; it's worth a shot to ask since it makes me nervous that kids can wander up the small hill onto the main highway. The store is always stocked and the service is friendly. Keep in mind that the store closes at 6pm so if you're a late arrival, you can check in the following morning.

Nice clean park with very friendly staff. Although we frustrated the staff with changing our site a few times, we ended up with a great site, also, the dog park is most likely the best I've ever seen!

I had never been here before and the only reason we did come was because a friend invited us, and I am soo glad we made it. The place was easy to find, they booked two spots next to each other and so we had plenty of space and the picnic table and firepit was a nice surprise. There were little stages for the kids to do shows, trails to take, the dam waant that far and beautiful to fish and hike at, it was such a nice experience! Onw fault was a neighbor of ours was a little rowdy one night and for their super late and made soo much noise, so I wish there was a cut off tim to be respectful of the site, but you cant please everyone and it's not the resorts fault. I would love to come back!!

This was a wonderful semi-mid way spot for us to meet our family in Northern California for a long weekend of camping. 6 hours north of Carlsbad (San Diego area), it was a perfect spot for a true getaway. Our party was split between tent camping and RVers so we were in separate sections but luckily, our campsites were very close. Just a short walk. It could not have worked out better. Each site was very clean and nicely shaded from the surrounding trees. The hosts and everyone in the general store were always really friendly and so helpful. You are 30-40 minutes from town so anything you might need, can be found there. Well, except for cigarettes but you don't need those. ; ) Fishing licenses, bug spray, souvenirs, fun toys for the kids--even sleeping bags if you need it. The bathrooms and showers are kept very clean and cleaned daily. We had no complaints with the location or our stay. Very close to great fishing spots, must-see sights and beautiful hiking trails. Be warned though, if you have a tent with a big footprint like my Dad, it may not fit on the wooden platforms they created to pitch your tent. Depending on your campsite, you may not have room to pitch it elsewhere. We just didn't set up his West Wing and he was able to do without. Why a single guy needs a 10 person tent is beyond me. ; ) My only advice is to be sure to map out your directions as you will likely lose cell service. Our GPS took us on a wild goose chase and we couldn't get online to get the correct directions. We were 20 miles away from our destination so be sure you print out and use the directions on their site. If you have AT&T or Verizon, you also won't get cell service at the campsite but if you buy their wi-fi, you can get online. I don't mind not having cell service but the wi-fi was definitely necessary to get in touch with family members to give them the heads up that the GPS directions send you up a dirt road road called Swamp Lake. It was like out of a horror film but It was a great reminder to always carry around a map even though the trip seems pretty straight forward. All in all, a beautiful and wonderful spot for our families to visit. We look forward to coming back next year.

There are RV parks & then there is Wishon!! I have never been camping where I could sleep soundly from dusk til way past dawn--if I wanted! WoW! What a treat. A quiet, tranquil campground! The reservation process is a breeze! Check-in good. Ancillary bathrooms immaculate! Trash bins neat & clean. Assigned spaces large, with a fire ring, table & my very own huge tree to sleep under!!! Almost paradise. Nearby fishing opportunities are insane!! I can't believe I've lived in CA this long & never known such a great spot! There are at least 4 reservoirs or lakes in the vicinity that are well stocked, not including the river & streams. Heard the hunting was just crazy! The only drawback I could see had nothing to do with this RV Park. The drive from Shaver Lake takes about 90 minutes (maybe longer) because of the cleanup crews working on the dead trees--7 days a week. Be sure to fill up in Shaver Lake before traveling on to Wishon! It snowed up there last weekend so be prepared! It was so beautiful.

Our regular camping spot in Shaver Lake was closed due to Covid this year so we booked a tent spot for a week here. The spot we were assigned (#18) had no shade between 7:00am until 4:30pm. There was no picnic table for this spot and only enough space for parking one vehicle. We did drag the table from site #17 to our site because #17 was close for Covid distancing, but we shouldn't have had to. On our week long stay here's some things to note about camping at Wishon RV park. 1. They cater to RVers more than the tenters. The RV sites look really nice and are setup well, but if you're in a tent, don't expect more than basics.2. Sites for tenters range in size from 400 sq ft (a 20x20 space) to 2000+ sq ft. We were in a very very small cramped site. 3. Restrooms are not very well taken care of. There were quite a few cobwebs and bugs. The showers you pay for are just a dribble of water from the showerhead, no water pressure at all. On Wednesday morning the toilet paper had run out in both the mens and womens bathrooms. There are 2 industrial sized dispensers in each stall which means they could hold 4 huge rolls each (those rolls that are 12"+ in diameter) and every dispenser was empty. They did not refill until at least Friday morning. (I watched other tenters walking up the hill carrying their own rolls all day Thursday).4. Campers don't follow the rules nor are rules enforced. Was woken up at night due to people driving on the camp road (with radio playing) and also early in the morning (4:00 am) as fisherman were leaving to go to fish. Constant noise from campsites with dogs or playing music. Our tent platform was 10 feet from the road, not a pleasant experience.5. We left a day early, instead of checking out Sunday it was worth it to us to drive 6 hours home to get a decent night's sleep. We were disappointed in the campground and the campsite we had. Perhaps if we had a decent campsite we might have stayed another night. In short, if you're assigned a decent campsite you might have a good time as a tenter at Wishon Village. If you end up getting a bad site such as #18 like we did, I'd suggest asking for a refund and driving up the road 1/2 mile to the "Lily Pad" campground.

Great place. Nice owners family oriented. Clean quiet. Christian . Loved it. Granted that Rockford RV already on site. Beats the heck out of calling a 30 foot trailer behind you on Mountain Road.

The RV sites are nice. Some have more room than others. The BIG issue is that they assume everyone has a self contained restroom in there trailer. They have closed the restroom/showers that are used by RV campers. So if you happen to come alone without friends or family the closest restroom is in the store or you have to walk all the way over to the tent sites and use that one. We have been told several reasons for the bathroom being closed, wish they would pick one reason and stick with it. One being a water issue but the laundry room is open and all the RV spots have full hook ups which include water. So you be the judge about that reason. We won't be back until the restroom and showers are open.
