White Pine Lumber Distributors

White Pine has always been our go-to place when we need better cuts of lumber or specialty pieces. Lumber has been going up in price again, but we're at that point where we need to get going on some framing for our garage addition. Lumber quality is so hit and miss at the big box stores, we decided to get the first wall up with lumber from White Pine. Lumber is already stamped here, so we don't have to pay extra for that. ($650 minimum to have the lumber grade certified at another place we had just checked out). WP is open from 7 to 330 M through F. Closed Sat and Sun. Prices here were decent compared to other places we checked. Great customer service. The hubby was helped quickly at the counter and out in the yard.

Required baseboards quickly. Beautiful baseboards at a great price and came in quickly. The salespeople were very helpful. I was in and out within 30 minutes. I was blown away at how quickly and stress-free it was.

White Pine Lumber Distributors is a buzz of actively.... It's an old established resource for building supplies and products, speciality fixtures, interior design elements, tools, hardware, even specialized HUGE screws and systems for thick exterior insulation applications. Something that interests me since I'm into building science and involved in my own 2,350 sf, 4 bed, 3 bath, two fireplace, 4 skylight, tons of door and windows, 1953 ranch house remodel. It's my second property and I'm doing much of the work myself...Hundreds of decorative moldings, special orders of doors and various surfaces, my juices are flowing. And IF they don't have something, rest assured you will be quickly directed to someone who does. I stopped by to ask about continuous linear eve vents for a project and was pointed to someone in town who had them in stock. Scratch that essential element to my project off the list. Using advanced energy improvement principles, all of the cladding (brick, wood) is coming off of this house. I'll be using house wrap, Rock Wool Insulation, foam board and turning it into a Yeti cooler and some of their products are going to help!There's a vast yard of products on hand and a showroom for the "Hearst Castle" in you....if that's your style. There's a lot of history here and a large, knowledgeable staff to help you move things along. I appreciated their help and always get my juices flowing here. I love the fact that all of the guys that work here are always there to help. If you ever have questions they are happy to help answer and if they don't know the answer they will get someone that does. I have asked them to order some things or to let me know when certain woods come in and they are always more then happy to let me know.

This place is NO HOME DEPOT!That's a good thing...kinda.They store their lumber much differently than HD... carefully.The people here are beyond knowledgeable. They have many different varieties of lumber and anyone in the yard is happy to help you. They leave you to view everything at your leisure, which I appreciated.We've purchased both knotty and clear pine here. We were satisfied with the purchase, but know that because they specialize in lumber, the price is slightly more.

Needed some hardwood lumber for some small furniture projects and was tired of buying warped, overpriced wood from the two big box hardware stores. Decided to try White Pine Lumber, and was very pleased with the selection of Woods they had, the price (which definitely beat out the box stores as well as the other lumberyard I've been to here in Fresno), and the help I received on-site. The sticks I ended up buying were too long for my SUV and they were happy to cut them down for me. I saw a sign on site that gave the prices for planing, too, but I didn't use them for that service- but useful to know for those without a planer in their home shops. In the store section they carry an assortment of tools for woodworking/carpentry, including a nice selection of Freud and Diablo blades and bits. I'll definitely be back when I need more project lumber.

I needed to replace about 67 feet of backyard fence. We wanted an 8 ft overall height, Cedar foot-wide boards. I called and spoke to Josh, he seemed friendly and helpful and said they could fit my needs. I was called away and promised to call back within the hour to discuss details. When I called back Josh was busy, I left my number. I called again, just before 5, and I guess they had closed. I called again the next day, finally got Josh back on the phone. During this second conversation, I discussed something that another lumber shop had explained (regarding pine? vs cedar 2 x 4s. Josh said they don't have cedar 2x4s, explaining they are too expensive and the pine they use is better, stronger etc. I asked about the twisting that can happen-(which I have seen with my own eyes) he told me I was wrong. Dismissing me is nothing new, I'm the handier one in the house and do most things myself. Being a woman, I have often suffered men explaining things to me that I already know. I usually don't mind immediately, but I also don't suffer bs. When Josh explained to me -again- that I must have misunderstood what the other lumber yard said I gently pushed back and explained that I knew what I was talking about, even going so far as to list the steps in the process that I had already discussed with other professionals and researched myself. He also quoted me one price the day before, and a $35 delivery fee. He "didn't remember" that quote and I had no proof since it was only a phone conversation. After a third instance of mansplaining, I was done. I politely finished the call without all of my questions having been answered and then spent my money elsewhere. They get one star for being generally friendly on the phone and being quick about answering the phone and for expedient quotes. I would not recommend this lumber yard to anyone who had another choice.

Wow. After standing in line at both Home Depot and Lowe's during COVID-19..... and both of their saws being broken, I was referred to WHITE PINE LUMBER and it was a pleasant experience. It was personal even with plexiglass partitions. My guy was so helpful and didn't get frustrated with me. Anytime I need a wood I am coming back here. So thankful it was a pleasant experience.

Great alternative to the big box stores. Been around for ages. Good people. Will really work with you to figure out what your needs are and make sure they are met. Appreciate it.
