I love this family owned business! They had the absolute best customer service. They had the supplies I needed to complete my project. They communicated so very well! When I came to pick up my order they even loaded it for me! I highly suggest Welker's Custom Cut Lumber!

The hubby knew there was a local lumber yard on California Ave, so one weekend we took a detour off the 180 to see if we could find it. We really liked the idea of using custom cut local lumber (from the Sierra's) for our garage addition. They're on California, between Cornelia and Polk. OK, now we had the name and location! Fast forward a few months and we were ready for lumber for our project. We drove out there again to inquire about pricing. There was no visible office, but a guy on a forklift came right over to see how he could help us. He first needed to know if the cut lumber would need to "be stamped". Great! We had no idea, so we said we'd find out. Well, after an inquiry to the county building permit folks, we found it DID need to be stamped. So the hubby called WCCL this time and they told him it would be a minimum of $650 for the stamp (certification of the lumber grade). We have decided against using local lumber due to cost constraints, but how cool would that have been?! To have put local lumber to use after the drought/bark beetles ruined our beautiful forests would have been awesome. Keep Walker's in mind for your projects that call for lumber...custom cut from those beautiful forests we always enjoyed.

They delivered the wood and helped me stack it. Great price, great guys. We had extra wood so we had some fun in the garage.
