Could very well be the highlight of visiting Yosemite. Great views from the bedroom and patio, cozy interiors and deer grazing outside -- stay in the midst of nature at Vulture's View. Only 30 mins away from Yosemite (about 1.5 hr from Glacier's Point) this b&b is in the quaint town of Oakhurst with a reasonable mix of restaurants and cafes. Must stay on your next Yosemite trip.

When you drive up the driveway, the first thing you see is an old red gas station garage/barn covered in vintage signs. You can also expect to see a family of deer walking around the garden. Unfortunately the grounds are not as nice as I expected from the pictures on the website. The area around the driveway, garage, and parking area was very dry and it could use some water and landscaping. This is the kind of place you want to see a beautiful garden so you can sit outside and enjoy the warm weather and scenic views! As far as our stay went, let me start out by saying that Judy, the owner, is a total sweetie. She greeted us with open arms and a big smile. She showed us to our room (room 1), which had a "private" porch, "private" hot tub, and a beautiful view. Then, she sat us down and explained to us the rules, which were plenty: Take a shower before using the hot tub , hair up in the hot tub, only use the green towels for the hot tub, don't waste electricity, keep the noise to a minimum, don't drink too much in the hot tub, don't waste water, "quite time" starts at 9pm, etc....she said if any of the rules were broken, we would be charged extra. For $170 a night, we didn't expect as many rules. This was my boyfriend's first visit to Yosemite so I wanted to stay someplace wonderful. Although Vulture's View was nice and had an amazing view from the hot tub, it was not as wonderful as I had expected for the price. The first night we enjoyed a beer and a delicious dinner at Yosemite Forks Mountain House Restaurant in Oakhurst. Yum! I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The next morning we got up at 4:30am and headed to Yosemite to hike Half Dome. Great time. We returned after dinner, around 8:30pm, a little surprised to find that our bed was not made and our towels were not replenished. Also, we were not given any additional food for the next day's breakfast.Pros:* Friendly hosts* Deer frequently roam the property* the private outdoor jacuzzi w/ amazing view* comfortable bed w/ nice sheets* nice fireplace (although it was way too hot to use it)* the room was stocked with fruit, mini-cereal, coffee, a mini fridge, a microwave, etc.* flat-screen tv w/ cable & dvd player* room was a cool temperature (providing a nice relief from the heat outside).Cons:* We had a non smoking room, but it smelled of cigarette smoke.* Jacuzzi wasn't that hot (and took a LONG time to heat up)* the grounds could have been kept up a little bit better* too many rules* we left for the day and when we came back our bed was not made and towels were not replenished.* dirty wine glasses :(* although there was a coffee maker in the room, the coffee and cream were not good. (and I was really looking forward to a cup of coffee after waking up at 3:30am before hiking Half Dome)* the alarm clock's alarm was brokenRecommendations:* Bring a bottle of wine to enjoy while watching the sunset in the hot tub* Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.* Make sure to read the guest book (filled with many cute stories)* Bring your own coffee and cream (and some food to stock your mini-fridge)

We just stayed at the Vulture's View B & B during our daughter's wedding weekend. We so enjoyed staying at this inn! Our room was large, clean and the bed was most comfortable! We were in room # 1 and enjoyed the beautiful views, private spa and the adorable deer roaming around the property. Judy was a most gracious host! She spent time giving us very useful tips so that we can maximize our enjoyment of the park. Her recommendations on local eateries was also spot on! We hated to leave but will return again for sure! Thanks Judy and Phil for your hospitality!

An absolute gem, in a quiet spot above the town of Oakhurst, south of Yosemite and near Bass Lake. Wonderful owners who take great care of their charming property. Clean, well maintained. Very friendly owners who leave you your privacy but are responsive to your needs. The property overlooks a beautiful valley. They can assist you with your Yosemite plans, what to see, etc. Check out Bass Lake, too, which is really close, for a great day of boating (we're amateurs but rented a boat for a great day). I would be very happy to stay there again. Only 3 rooms in the whole property. Enjoyed the one with the jacuzzi! Great people, great stay. They don't cook a breakfast, but do leave a nice stock of breakfast foods. Recommended highly.

I am reposting my review, as admittedly it was sent to the "not recommended reviews" by yelp...It appears the yelp software has decided I don't make enough reviews. Now I am wondering if others had posted the truth about this place and it was removed AND I didn't get to read it! I'm disappointed yelp, I may have made another choice...____________________________________________________________________I don't understand the amazing reviews...and I made my decision to stay there because of the reviews, and was highly disappointed. *the picnic table outside of our room had a filled dirty ashtray*you have to stay in rooms 1 or 2 to have a view, though there is NO place to walk, just an unsafe road.*found the room to be outdated*although the room was stocked with continental breakfast, there was hot breakfast that I read about*Although Judy was helpful with park info...it was too much*there was a deer that roamed through the yard...also a skunk:) I deeply regretted this choice, though admittedly I might be a bit of a snob and prefer the standards of Hilton...

James and I Loved our stay! My husband rented room #1. we hope to come back again in the future. We enjoyed the spa this morning before we had to leave it was so nice to just listen to the birds and the morning noises. Our small lap dog Kenobi loved his stay as well. We saw deer in the Early mornings. We enjoyed the fireplace our last night and this morning. The mini refrigerator had been stocked with fresh fruit , milk, oj, yogurt. With space to spare for my hunnys beer and my mimosas mixings lol... the fruit was nice to add to my mimosas too .. pre cut strawberries. Some blueberries. Very nice. Plenty of space in the room. Bathroom area was nice and spacious. . Just great all around

This cute bed and breakfast is a true gem! We had room #1, the only one with a hot tub and a view of the mountain! It's worth the extra money. The owners are great and pretty much leave you alone and they leave you plenty of breakfast stuff in the fridge. Also if you plan on going to Yosemite they have more than enough tips on what to see! They best part was that she accommodated my gluten allergy and that fact I was vegetarian. I would definitely stay here again!

Felt just like home. I spoke with Judy only a day before coming and she made a little Valentines day decor for our room. She even adapted her Picnic lunch for our Vegetarian diet. We came down early 11am and she had our Picnic basket ready. Hot tub in room 1 was clutch after the long hike. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The only downside was hot water took a little while to turn on, but kept hot afterwards and hair dryer wasn't great per my wife.

"Your home away from home."Absolutely breath taking! Judy is a wonderful host who goes above and beyond to ensure her guests are comfortable! My boyfriend and I stayed in Room #1 which has a hot tub with an amazing view from the patio. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the nearby wildlife was an added bonus. This is the perfect place for an anniversary, honeymoon, birthday or any kind of special occasion. We will definitely be back! :)
