VON's Grocery Store, Oakhurst: 2025 Jan 20 (3 of 5)This review is for Nancy: 5 of 5Von's Corporate: 2 of 5We are writing to command Nancy. She was on duty on 1/16/2025. I checked-out at her station at 1502 hours. There were customers in front of me and several behind me. Every customer was concerned about the cost of groceries. Several items at Von's did not display pricing. One of the items were the eggs. This is a staple for most people, especially the ones with children. The customer in front of me was afraid to pick up a carton of eggs. I had to pick one up because I have a sick family member at home, and eggs was one of the items he is able to swallow. Nancy was patient and helpful during our time of despair. She portrayed professionalism and care to all the customers. Nancy is an asset to Von's, and I hope the management sees fit to acknowledge her. (5 of 5)Finally, I am saddened that a big corporation such as Von's made it their rule to disappoint and disrespect their customers. Shame on Von's corporate office. (2 of 5)

I used to enjoy grabbing a bagel here for breakfast, but I draw the line at eating something that looks like it survived a house fire. I think someone might need a refresher on how oven timers work.I actually brought this up to the bakery manager, who assured me with very little enthusiasm that it would never happen again. Well, fast-forward a few days, and guess what? More bagels burnt beyond recognition. I'm really hoping someone sees this review and has a heart-to-heart with the person in charge of the oven. Because they are selling food that should have been thrown out. At this point, I've given up on buying anything from the bakery.

One evening, returning late from Yosemite and not wanting to wait to be seated at local restaurants, we decided to get sandwiches from Vons.We are used to grocery stores at home making really good sandwiches. Unfortunately, sandwiches from Vons didn't measure up to this deliciously- high standard. The Vons sandwiches were just ok - bread, meet and other ingredients didn't sing a single aria of deliciousness but rather each ingredient separately declared its intent to take over the palette. Also, we weren't impressed with the service. The person who was making my husband's sandwich didn't project willingness to be helpful. The person making my sandwich didn't exhibit product knowledge that would have showcased which ingredients go best together. We don't see ourselves getting sandwiches from Vons at Oakhurst in the future again.

In line at the Vons Starbucks waiting and an employee walks up requesting a coffee and gets it made before me, the one standing and waiting in line. The male bald headed employee working never said a peep to me like "I'll be right with you," nothing at all. I'm a paying customer and the employee walked off with a free coffee while I continued to stand in line and be ignored. I left and will continue using the Starbucks on 41. What a shame and a complete disgrace to a customer. Even the Von's male employee should be ashamed when he saw me standing there and had his drink made first. Do people have no common courtesy anymore? Please train that man on how to work in customer service.

Everyone was friendly. The chicken at the Boar deli was a bit salty and dry. Overall the store was 10x cleaner than LA lol

Do not let your minor child work here, they schedule them past 10 pm, use fowl language toward them and make them ask permission to use the restroom.. and threaten to "dock their pay" if they use the restroom too much.. they treat minors like they are slaves, I expected more out of this community.

love this store and especially the app and gas discounts that come with it! The staff is always very nice and helpful, especially the dairy people idk how many times ive needed something either pushed forward or grabbed from the back, I do instacart here a lot and sometimes im in such a hurry and they are always there to help. The gas is usually the cheapest in town and with the discounts it can be a very nice welcome to gas prices! One of two major grocery retailers in oakhurst and also i would say probably has the best deals

Usually find what I'm looking for and when I can't, the team is helpful and willing to actually bring me to where I can find what I need.The "self-checkout" is particularly helpful, yet at times challenging. Somehow Dana always seems to be there right when needed. She warmly welcomes the opportunity to help me out. Her great attitude is exemplary and a refreshing addition to the experience; always with a smile, patient, engaging. It is a pleasure to work with Dana. She continues to make me feel like I'm her only customer.Barry

I can't believe how rude everyone that works are. The first time, I thought people were just having a bad day. But that's not true, they are ALWAYS like that. I drive to Fresno as much as possible to avoid shopping there.

The people that work here are ALL so rude and very unhelpful. It's actually cheaper and nicer to drive all the way to fresno. From now on the only time I will shop there is if there is absolutly no where else to buy what I need.
