I'll never go to this place again, worst experience. I booked a balayage appt. with Kat for my 13 year old daughter's birthday gift way in advanced. Of course my daughter was really looking forward to this day (first time getting her hair dyed too, she was excited). I get a text the day of her appt. saying she had to cancel due to babysitting issues, my daughter was so bummed. My daughter had to wait about 3 weeks after her bday to get it done, due to the very limited appt. schedule - I totally regret not just taking her somewhere else. Kat offered a 20% discount due to the last minute cancel which I thought was nice.The day of her appt. my husband had to take her because I had to work. He was charged $180 which I know is the starting price for a balayage and she didn't mention anything to him about applying the 20% discount, he totally forgot to mention it too. I told him it's ok, maybe I could ask her to use it for myself for a haircut. So a couple things to keep in mind - (1) we weren't too happy with the turn out of her hair, you could barley tell it was even colored at all and (2) my daughter asked her to cut a little curtain bangs which I honestly could've done myself.I text Kat asking if she could touch it up since it barely shows (I mean if anyone paying that much $ then we should get our money's worth right?) she insists it's like the picture my daughter showed her but till this day my daughter still complains that you can't tell it's colored. I also asked about using the 20% discount on myself since she didn't apply it and she says she did apply it - $35 went to the haircut (the few strands of bangs she cut) and that I have $1 credit. Pssshhhhh yeah NEVER going here again.

Just wanted to write an update! I have been going to this salon for YEARS. I mean literally since I graduated high school and I have NEVER been disappointed. Kat always takes care of my hair, and listens to EVERY thing I ask of her. Everyone working in the salon is SO friendly. They greet everyone as they come into the door and they're all so easy to talk to. I'm one of those people that is super picky about my hair, I don't trust anyone but Kat. When I ask her for a certain style she does it, but is always honest if there are concerns for the health of my hair! Thank you so much for being so amazing Vanity Rose Salon!!

BEWARE LA peepsDON'T book Victoria Perez. I come from Los Angeles, and I'm here for the university. To go home and get a haircut it's a 4 hour drive. I look for salons, and come across this one because the lady who did my hair has a Instagram account of "vickydomyhair" and she tags "#ucmerced" . So one can find her online, so put on your seatbelts because this is going to be one hella of a story. I booked a 20 year old hair stylist of Victoria Perez ( there's 2 Victorias that work there so don't confuse the other one with the Perez girl) , I dm her and booked an appointment. I go and she cuts my hair short, and I get a balayage. She charges me $130.00 dollars, I'm like okay whatever she did the job. She is sweet and polite but her work isn't acceptable. She charged me for the haircut and the bleach dye. I'm like okay, but once I get home. I notice she curled my hair and it seems uneven. I take a shower and my hair is straight naturally, to notice my hair was uneven!!!! My goodness, how am I going to school like this??? No please, this is embarrassing . I text her and send her pics she takes days by the way to reply ever message. Literally I texted her Sunday morning and she replied, the next day at 8 pm. She tells me to come at Tuesday, I tell her no please I need you to fix it now. It's barely Sunday I cannot be like this ??? Like how ...? She cuts my hair on Tuesday and I tell her don't curl it because I know that how you can hide a bad haircut. She still doesn't cut it perfectly, but at this point. I still have an appointment with her because I want my hair lightened to silver, but she is going to charge me 130 dollars again....? I'm like why...? I text her what is she charging me for then? I'm not cutting my hair I'm just bleaching and for anything on super short hair now..... she DOES NOT reply for a whole week! And tells me the day on the appointment "are you making it to the appointment" of course not miss Vicky. She is charging me 130 again, so what prices did she charge my haircut then? Or lightening process...? Because all I wanted was a simple explanation, but I did not get one. She doesn't reply to messages She doesn't cut hair right She doesn't know how to charge And it's unprofessionalStudents, girls, boys, whoever make yourself a favor and just wait to go to LA or wherever you're from. They charge expensive but it's for a reason,I learned my lesson. And my poor hair paid the price.

People say, "it's just hair. It'll grow back..." & blah blah blah. But!!! When it comes to my hair, it's a big deal. Kat understood and continues to understand that. She guided me through the process of lightening my hair without damaging it. My natural hair color is jet black. With her expertise, knowledge in my hair texture, and patience, she got me to the blonde I never thought I could achieve but always wanted!! I love my hair and it's all thanks to Kat. Kat is so knowledgeable in hair that if you were to come to her and show her a pic of what you want, she'll take the time to learn your hair type and texture and will educate you if she thinks can be achieved or not. She also always provides alternatives. Now that is someone you want touching your hair. That is someone you can trust when it comes to investing in your hair. You pay for quality, and you will surely get that with Kat. Kat, is not only a wonderful hairstylist, but also a devoted and loving mother to three adorable children. She is very understanding and flexible. As a mother myself, I get it! Not only is she my hair stylist when I'm sitting in her chair, she is also a friend and my personal "hairapist". 10/10 recommend!!! Thanks for enhancing my hair/beauty and making me feel more confident, Kat! You're the absolute best!

I love this salon so much! I book with Marsha and she takes such good care of my hair! I always get a blonde balayage and she makes sure that my hair doesn't get damaged. I've been going to her for over 5 years and my hair is long, healthy, and the perfect shade of blonde. There was even a time that I let her decide what to do with my hair, that's how much I trust her! She's the absolute best!

Needed a last minute haircut, called about 30 minutes ahead if I could walk in and they said they were available yet when I arrived they said they all had appointments and couldn't see me. A call back would have been decent enough

I did not enjoy my experience here. Marsha was rude and unprofessional, and denied service without explicitly stating reason for denial. I took time out of my day to be here only to be turned away. Negative stars if possible

Very unprofessional. Have been trying to get in contact to schedule a service since June and have yet to be able to get in contact with Hair dresser. Left texts messages and was left on read even tried calling and no response. At least let your clients know if you're going on vacation or booking slot is not available instead of ignoring them. Will not be going back to this salon

Kat has cut my hair a few times and I've had good experiences each time. She is attentive and knowledgeable and will let you know if she thinks your hair type could handle certain treatments (color, etc). She is very skilled and can cut your hair exactly how you want it and gives advice pertaining to your hair type. She is super sweet too! Aurora is great. My daughter's hair was in an odd stage of growth and I didn't think she had enough hair to cut it properly into a pixie. I asked Aurora what she thought and she said she could definitely do it. The cut turned out amazing and looked just like the photo we showed her. Aurora took her time and was very attentive to the small details.
