I used to live around the corner from this bakery and would hit this up before work many a time and enjoyed and still enjoy paying it a visit every now and then. It's a smaller Mexican bakery compared to others but the freshness, quality and flavor are not small at all. The owner also operates his business and his customer service skills are quite nice. He is quick to recommend a sweet bread or cookie and has a very honest opinion. My favorite is still Gallardo's in the Barrio, but this one ranks very close in my heart and tummy.

So I've actually been a customer here and enjoyed the bread but this recent event that happened with my mom and child(who is of mixed race) had infuriated me!! And has definitely lost my business as a customer; long short my mother and son walked in to buy bread obviously and my son turned to my mother and said grandma I want this bread the owner who is there present in the morning everyday said to my mother "isn't he the wrong color to be your grandson" she went about saying my family is a multicultural family" bought her bread and leftThis is what's wrong in this world stupid people making unnecessary comments about a child who is only 4years old!!! I had to rate if I wanted to post otherwise no star

I've been to this bakery several times and really enjoyed the Mexican bread (pan). I live around the corner from this bakery and stopped in to check it out. I liked it so much that I have stopped there to get pastries for my coworkers on the way to work. The bread was so soft and tasty and the cookies were soft but somewhat crispy. I know that sounds odd to have those two descriptions for the same item. Haha. This small neighborhood bakery is a hidden gem. The owner runs his store and also has a van for out of store service. His customer service was pleasant. He speaks primarily Spanish and communicates in English as well. Try it out!

Very disappointing...... only came here because the Mexican bakery that I usually go to down the street was closed. I figured I'd give this place a shot, omg..... terrible mistake. Waste of time and money. Customer service is terrible the lady at the front didn't greet nor acknowledge us as we walked in. First impression, place is dirty and unorganized. They have refrigerators which contain drinks for sale like sodas, juice etc but also looks like that's where they keep they're ingredients, blocks of butter, boxes of eggs I thought ok, whatever. However, I then notice that on top of the drinks are stacked baking pans. Not just baking pans but baking pans with pre made bread all stacked up on top of each other ready to throw in the oven for the next day Im assuming. That didn't look very sanitary. Basically any customer can open the fridge to grab a drink with all that dough exposed to whoever. The bread looks hard, a little on the toasty side, small, sloppy maybe rushed? Idk. I tried to figure out which bread was fresh but it all looked old, even then I thought maybe it just looks bad. I was still willing to give it a chance. I brought it home and found that it tastes just like it looks. Hard, old and dry. I didn't take a picture but if you're familiar with Mexican bread you know what cuernitos are and another one called elotes. Those are usually filled with either a yellow or pink type of dough. I've never seen anything like these because when I cut it in half it was hollow? I was like wtf is this!? It's empty inside? The empanadas had very little filing but because they did have some filling they weren't as dry. Anyway, I gave it a fair shot but not ever coming coming back. I will continue going to Vanessa's Panaderia who never disappoint. They have the best Mexican bread.
