Waiting for Chris Isaak

Since this was my first time at this venue, I wish I had known the Theatre was inside the school building. Fortunately I was able to find the band's bus and equipment trailer. It was only then that I knew I had the right spot. Parking isn't that great especially when it's nighttime. I would have been scared had I had a long walk by myself. There didn't appear to have a lot of handicap parking either, which is also worrisome. On a bad day, I would not have been able to walk back to my car.As for the concert, Jonny Lang and his band were fantastic as always. The Volunteers of the Turlock Community Theatre were very nice and inviting. I was happy to learn I could buy bottled water for $1 and bring it to my seat. The theatre was clean, and nearly full with people. From were I sat, the sounding was spot on. I will come back again and arrive early for parking.

Parking really sucks here. Other than that, the venue is okay. A refreshment counter would elevate it.

I've watched several shows at this venue, and enjoyed them all. I love the feel of this old (but refurbished) theatre, it's got a lot of character and charm. It's a great place to watch a show. The only negatives are that unless you get an isle seat, the seating feels a bit cramped. Also the balcony seating can be a bit warm during the summer months. Parking can also be a problem unless you arrive early. Overall a nice place to see a show, and I will be back.

VERY small, uncomfortable seats with zero legroom (and I'm not a big person by the way). Felt like being in a folding chair for two hours. Was in third row center balcony and had to lean left or right to see the entire time as seats are not staggered and the head in front of me blocked the entire view. Enjoyed the entertainer but would wait next time to see him perform someplace (ANYPLACE) else. Not worth the back pain.

Great time seeing Chris Isaac tonight.Balcony seats at an isle railing. We cold see great and were comfortable. Looking forward to another opportunity to enjoy this beautiful theater. We are new to Turlock and find it so exciting to have this caliber of entertainment so close.

It's a high school turned concert venue. I kinda felt like we're on campus from the movie SCREAM. Sitting in your seat, you think you're there for a high school play or the local county beauty pageant. There is absolutely not much to do around here. On a Sunday, downtown didn't have much happening. But I came here to see the Los Lonely Boys and drove here from the Bay Area. It was a good, intimate venue...or maybe it was because I was on the floor.

The venue is great. Comfortable seats and it wasn't too cold. We were in the front row of the balcony. Thank you for bringing Jim Breuer to Turlock. We'll come back again.

Great theatre. Very clean venue. I've seen a lot of great shows here. Also have seen dance recitals. Only part that is inconvenient is trying to find parking. Be prepared to walk..

Have only been there twice one to see Lonely Boys, the second to see Olivia Newton John and I really enjoyed both concerts. Loved the small venue compared to the HP in SJ or Coliseum in Oakland they are so big and even if you pay a little more for tickets your still far away & at this theater doesn't matter where your sitting all good seats. I just wish they would bring more entertainers I would like to go see.

The theater itself is very nice. However, if the audience we encountered at the Tower of Power concert is any indication of what other performances are like here, I don't think I'd ever go back. First, people were still entering the theater and being seated throughout the first three songs (side door kept open, light streaming in, talking, ushers shining too-bright flashlights not always pointed at the floor, and of course people walking in front of us). We were in the balcony that only has about 12 rows of seats, just behind the aisle in the 8th row. I can hardly imagine how much worse it could have been on the main level. Then, once everyone seemed to have finally found their seats, other people started the next trend, of leaving the theater and then returning to them a little later. Where the heck was everyone going??? The concert only lasted 1-1/2 hours yet people couldn't stay seated that long? I bet more than 50 people walked across our view during that time. Finally, some people behind us talked the whole time. This was probably the only time I've wished a band had been louder (and ToP isn't a quiet band by any means). Honestly, it seemed like a baseball game, not a concert. We had what I would normally have considered good seats, but there was so much distraction. I wish I could upload the audio files I recorded from a couple of the songs. I was amazed at how much talking there is in the background. Who goes to concerts to talk?! Sigh.
