In the rehab building the some of the PT's are very rude to the old patients. They seem to have a chip on their shoulder. Also the patient rooms are old and dingy. The food is awful and the late nigh staff is super unprofessional. Go to the Armenian Home if you have an older loved one.

The manager left a note on my prior review just your typical BS statement so I thought I'd update my review. How about that picture of my mom's foot? That's the quality care you get a San Joaquin gardens. Two and a half months ago there was no sore on the foot. Now it's got gangrene and will have to be amputated. Go ahead send your parents here. Good luck

Admittedly, we can only offer a visitor's perspective, but we were VERY impressed. We attended a resident's art show, and we're able to speak to many residents. Every one of them looked happy, healthy and fully engaged. They chatted happily about the lifestyle there, and were justifiably proud of their art, some of which boarders on museum quality, and all of which was expertly done!We got a tour of the property, and oh, my gosh! It is gorgeous. Well kept, clean Mediterranean style design. The amenities were many and varied from restaurants to a gym, from a residents' garden to clean, spacious, well equipped common spaces. There is also a facility tram, much like a combination community bus and taxi, which can be hailed on demand from convenient stops throughout the community. We noticed some negative Yelp reviews for short term convalescent care and we asked about it. Apparently some short term patients come expecting hospital level care for which The Terraces is not equipped. Understandable from our perspective. In general, this community of seniors is a wonderful facility. All of the staff we met were caring and friendly, and all of the residents we met seemed wholly satisfied. If this is a service you're researching, we highly recommend including this facility on your considerations.

My partner was sent to this horrible place after major back surgery and being she is 69 yrs old. I took her there on Saturday for rehabilitation. She was there for 2 days and I kept telling them something was wrong with her. Of course, I could not see her because of Covid rules. After telling them over and over there was something wrong with her because she was slurring her words and not making sense. I finally called an ambulance for her after only two days in there. They took her into the hospital and she had lost 5 units of blood. They had to transfuse her. Now, why does a rehab place not listen to their loved ones when they know the person the best. I would not send my dog there.

Please consider that the Terraces is both an independent, assisted and skilled nursing facility. Each person writing a review might not fully understand this.My parents live/lived at the Terraces and have experienced each level the facility has to offer.I am pleased with the level of service and quality the Terraces and its employees offer. On all levels.I am an only child and live 4 hours away. The Terraces have given me peace of mind to know that my eldery parents are cared both physically and mentally. That is pricelist to a caring son.I encourage those reading bad reviews to understand that my review comes after years of working/relying on the Terraces.....not just a couple of days experience.I searched long and hard to find a nice safe place for my parents and I found it here.Erik

My mother is in the Skilled Nursing part of the Terraces. I can honestly say we are quite happy with the facility and staff. I can honestly leave and know she is well taken care of. I am there everyday and the staff is just wonderful, rooms are great as well.

Terrible place. Care was nonexistent. Food was awful. Did have 2 very nice aids. Otherwise it was a bad experience. Seldom saw a nurse. Would love to speak with the director about the care. Had to spend the night to ensure the patient's safety. Sad what they consider care.

I would NOT recommend this place, especially if your love one needs proper care, my loved one had surgery needing help to get around with a risk band informing staff she was high risk of falling. Sure enough there was a fall and the only reason we were informed of this was because of their policy, I requested this be charted in file, although when I followed up the next day the chart note was very vague and when I asked for a well check with me present I was informed Esmerelda the head nurse declined my request and stated she already checked the patient, the problem with this was there was a horrible bruise on patient and I could not get anyone to review. I asked to meet with the Dr. to review concerns and recommendations the Dr. or staff would not set an appointment. Needless to say patient was over medicated and was discharged as soon as possible.

I would give a minus star rating if it was available. Note the pictures I attached on worn out torn sheet and incorrect menu ticket. Dad was transferred from four days at Saint Agnes hospital on Friday November 18, 2022, to The Terraces San Joaquin for rehab before returning to his senior living apartment at Fairwinds. Saint Agnes said San Joaquin would help him shower when he got there. San Joaquin said he would not get a shower until the following Monday. He washed up and used paper towels to dry. No cloth towels in his room. No pitcher of water in his room. We had to ask for water for him which he did not get. I finally found a medical cart that had clean plastic cups for urine samples and used one of those to get him some water out of his bathroom. The next day I brought him bottled water. Finally on Sunday he showered by himself. After he showered himself, they started rehab on Sunday and someone finally brought him a pitcher of water. He checked himself out Monday morning and we took him back to his apartment. Never ever did I expect such poor service and conditions. The ladies at the reception desk where we had to check in on Friday and Monday were RUDE to say the least. The lady at the same desk on Saturday and Sunday was excellent. She was the only person in the skilled nursing dept. where we had to check in that was friendly and had something in the ball. I feel horrible that we allowed our father to stay even one day there.

my mom was transferred to this place yesterday for rehab. she has been calling me sobbing because she is in the early stages of dementia and wants to go home. I have not been able to get an actual human on the phone. the nurse's station is even just a machine. its easier to talk to someone about an Amazon order. I am so so glad we did not place her at this corporate nightmare. they talk a good game. do not believe it. "always open?" how about never open? I live four hours away and can't get her out of there today. enjoy this review, and the reporting I do to every agency about you people.
