The Local Grape

Earlier today I showed up with a dog, yes the place is dog friendly, the down side is that perhaps the staff forgot that my Mrs. Walked in and sat outside. I walked through the outside into the patio because manners. 25 minutes passed by no one went out to give us a menu or anything. Went into the restroom to assess the situation, clean restroom by the way, the guy had maybe 2 or 3 parties inside and he couldn't take 2 minutes to at least offer a glass of water and an I'll be right with you? Lack of attention to detail, I became displeased and left. Sorry not sorry but not worth itPlease read reply. Then check out my other 271 reviews I've typed, who is the bad human here? Although we've not yet purchased wine here, we've visited the adjacent restaurant, and have looked through the Local Grape. If you're in "downtown" Mariposa, it's worth stopping in. There is fair variety of wine, though you need to take "Local" in its broadest definition.The folks who work here are friendly and helpful, and, if you like wine, the shelves are worth a browse.

I wish I could give this place six stars! The owner (Travis) selects great wines to display and add to the menu and it's a pleasure to come and explore new wines from the region. This is definitely a must stop for a trip to Yosemite or anywhere else in the region.

A very cool spot that carries a variety of brands of delicious wine. Our hostess was gracious and offered great suggestions which we ended up purchasing which waived the $15 tasting fee per person. On a great strip and just across the street there's a charcuterie place where you can pick up some meats, cheese, jams, crackers, etc.

Travis hosted a rose' wine tasting for our group at a private event in Mariposa. The wine was delicious and he was so knowledgeable and entertaining. After the wine tasting, he poured wine to accompany the spectacular dinner our friends hosted in their vineyard. It was a magical evening and his wine selections were perfect. I'll be stopping by his shop to stock up on wine any time I am in town. Thank you, Travis!

A red flight and a white flight were offered. We tried the $15 red tasting which consisted of five wines from five different vintners. The tasting fee is waived per bottle purchased to take home.The flight's theme was to use only wines from the Sierra Foothills. Granted, not a great wine growing region, but care was taken to curate a good representation of the area. The results were a bit more miss than hit but at least there was a hit - mostly likely a Lodi or Amador County zinfandel which the Foothills are most noted for producing.The space is shared with the ramen restaurant.

Amazing place. Great wines for the Sierra...but what you need to do is meet the owner. Super nice. And if you want Ramen. It's next around the bar. Must do in Mariposa.

Stopped in here by chance after hiking all day, and had the best experience. There's wine tasting for $15 and the owners are a wealth of knowledge about the regional selection. There's also a conjoining ramen restaurant, didn't eat there, but looked/smelled delicious. Worth stopping in!

We came by the Local Grape and their ramen shop and were told that unfortunately both shops were closed for a private event. However, the owner took us in anyway and gave us an amazing wine tasting. We loved all of the scenery and decorations inside of the shop and talking with the owner Travis as well. Thank you so much for taking us in when you didn't need to!

Wine tasting and hot ramen! If you like a great wine tasting experience this is the place to stop. If you like ramen, this is the place. We stopped by for a quick glass of wine and stayed for over 2 hours. Great selection of local wines and wines from the surrounding regions. The place is a very comfortable place to hang out.The owners know there stuff.
