The Californian Commissary

Meandered in here on our last day in Mariposa and was so pleased to see you could get a little charcuterie to go - we ate it in the car but probably great at the park! They will include some crackers and fruit and some jam+mustard. Very helpful in guiding your cheese/meat choice and will let you try it before you commitAll their products are from California and looked delicious but I only flew with a carry on so I couldn't get anything'

Wowzers! They have quite the selection of cheeses and meats. The owner was super friendly, and after offering us several samples, he put together a beautiful board for us to enjoy. The shop is complete with all your charcuterie needs! From picnic baskets to jams, they've got you covered!I highly recommend you stop by!

Can't recommend this enough for a reasonably-priced and delicious charcuterie experience! You can tell Brian has a passion for what he does. He walked us through and let us taste multiple types of cheese and meat for our charcuterie. The end result was beautiful and quite well priced for all that it offered!Besides the charcuterie, the store is well curated and cute to browse!

So this place caught my attention the first day I arrived in Mariposa. I knew I wanted to check it out while visiting. Upon entering, I received no greeting whatsoever or any help. That's okay, I found my way. The young lady that was working was very quiet and probably needs some customer service training. It's important to greet customers and assist them especially when they know nothing about your business.They are located right the Main Street of Mariposa and parking is limited, but you can find a spot along one of the side streets. I popped in here to discover that they offer an array of cheeses, meats, nuts, chutneys and other high quality ingredients for you to create your own charcuterie board. You can also purchase one of many charcuterie boards already made. There is also pre-made picnic meals to purchase as well. I love that they are enhancing outdoor eating with their products.The store had some great items, and other merchandise such as cutting boards, gourmet chocolate bars, wine glasses for picnics, baskets, spreads, and olives. The store is laid out well and gives off the California vibe. Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot of time to browse but I did pick up a pre-made charcuterie board and took it with me into Yosemite National Park to snack on. It was tasty and I would like to come back here again to try out a whole picnic.

This place was such a wonderful surprise when we stopped in Mariposa on our way to Yosemite. The owner was so incredibly friendly and let us pick out as many cured meats and wonderful cheeses to put into our charcuterie box. He included some gherkins, berries, crackers, flavored mustard, jelly and three types of tapenades. It was delicious! Definitely a must stop place to go to when on your way to Yosemite!

Overall, Im very impressed with The Californian Commissary. There products are of the highest quality and the owner and his daughter are friendly and knowledgeable. I love that The Californian has made its way to Mariposa. We enjoyed a beautiful charcuterie board at a dinner party last night to discover it is a new option in our beautiful town. The cheeses, meats and chutneys used were such high quality with a gorgeous presentation! This morning I called to inquire and met Evan who shared that all of the cheeses, meats, nuts, etc are all California-based and made with California love! I cannot wait to use them at an upcoming wedding, or event.

Taking a stroll through town and happened upon this little gem.. picked up a sample plate and it was delicious! Met the owner and his son and he was very friendly and informative.. Great way to give your guests something special to snack on.

Great atmosphere, super charcuterie options, wonderful service. The guy working g this evening was very helpful explaining opportunities in the area for us to visit. As an out of town visitor, we are so glad we dropped in.

I love the prepared boxes and also appreciate that they custom make boxes to your taste.
