The Berrock Shop

This place smells like fresh baking bread as soon as you walk in . The berrock I ordered was ground beef, onions, cabbage, and potato salad as a side I also ordered a fresh cherry pie . I took my seat , I noticed that the place is clean and the service is great. My food came out about 10 minutes from when I ordered. These were made fresh! I took time to breathe in the incredible aroma emulating from my food . First bite was amazing, I did add a little salt and pepper, yum! The potato salad tasted just like what my mom would make . When I was done it was time for cherry pie. The flaky crust was delicious. I really enjoyed watching the folks come and go, this place got busy in a hurry at 5:00 in the evening. I generally do not return to places I have tried, this spot I cannot wait to return to, highly recommend

While this restaurant is kind of a Fresno institution, there are a few drawbacks. I definitely don't recommend going at a peak., Parking is chaotic. The restaurant itself is freezing cold, obviously they don't use any heat whatsoever. And who can blame them with the cost of using energy and the doors constantly open and closing in this old building.Overall, the baked goods, pies, are too salty. I wish they would pull it back 40% or so.... After all, you can always add salt if you choose. The menu is nice and varied... The service is great, but unfortunately, they just wipe any crumbs and debris off the tables directly onto the floor. It's rather messy. How silly not to just wipe it onto a tray... but whatever.And some of the ingredients are not cooked well enough, the potatoes are tough both in the pies and the salad. Most can be happy here, but honestly, it's a once or twice a year endeavor for me personally due to the HIGH sodium levels. Yep, even for the gravy! :(-G

When I was a kid, businesses painted their windows with cool decorations for various holidays which brought a smile to my face.  Now it's something I rarely see.  I was happy to see The Berrock Shop had their windows decorated for spring.Good selection of personal size pies here.  I tried a chicken pot pie.  Crust was flaky and buttery.  Chicken was tender and full of flavor.  I liked the gravy, carrots, and potatoes.  Nice of them to give you extra gravy to dump on your pie. Soda dispenser provides soda water which was bubbly and refreshing.Apple pie had a flaky buttery crust which I loved.  Apple filling had a sweet apple flavor.  Very tasty pie.Staff was nice and got orders out quickly.  I'll be back next time we go on a Yosemite/Kings Canyon National Park trip.

My first time coming here. I got a Mexican berrock combo and a chicken pot pie with a side of gravy, and my boyfriend got the bbq beef berrock combo. Everything was so good. Afterwards I got a peach pie but it was served a little cold, it would've been nice if it was warmed up but still everything was great.

Great place to get a burger or a beerrock and not overly pricey. It's not super fancy but there are plenty of places to sit. You go up to the counter to order and they bring it out to you. Best of all, they don't even ask for a tip when you pay with a credit card. I ordered the western burger and it was good, although I thought the bread was too thick. Fries were great and the beerrock was nice.

Very few foods these days can instantly flood my brain with child hood memories, but the Berrock Shop did that and then some. This place has popped up on my yelp feed a handful of times, and I finally decided to check it out. Walking in here is like going back to the 70s or 80s, in a good and cozy way. They make burgers, sandwiches, soups, and have tons of comfort food sides. We ordered 6-Berrocks, already baked, to go. You can get them frozen and bake them at home if you want. After a quick minute in the microwave at home, the breads yeasty smell alone brought me back to my childhood and watching my dad make these kitchen. I swear, after that first bite of the soft bun and then the flavor of the ground beef and cabbage, I could almost hear his voice. *Don't cry, get it together* I really enjoyed their classic berrocks, but their "Mexican" version, filled with taco meat, was just as delicious! Not a huge fan of the pulled pork berrock, but still tasty. I've already planned my next visit!

So many people swear by this restaurant. I ordered 2 breakfast berrocks and a pot pie and it was pretty expensive. The berrocks were mostly bread and the eggs tasted like they were made from powder. I ended up throwing them away. I tried the chicken pot pie and it was VERY salty.Maybe I ordered the wrong items.

So, some people think or say "it's just a sandwich, I can make one at home!" But can you really? This is where places like the Berrock Shop come into play! Alright, so maybe it's not the best place to get a sandwich (however, that solely depends on the person eating said sandwich) but I will strongly say that the Turkey Club I ordered is truly good (recommended by the lady at the front counter & a great suggestion it was) Bun was toasted perfectly for me, bacon was crunchy & not chewy, along with everything going together nicely. I could order this any day of the week & be perfectly happy! Well worth the visit if you have not tried this place out. Which I don't know why it's taken me this long, considering how long it's been around. So all in all! Friendly quick service, place was clean, along with being in & out within a reasonable time frame!

Just tried berocks at The Berrock Shop in Fresno for the first time. Different from homemade ones I've had, but decent. Going back for round two now that I know what to expect. They offer a variety of fresh pastries and pies that look tempting. Super friendly and informative staff, helped me navigate their delicious offerings on my first visit. Even though I was unsure at first, the food won me over. Definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you're into pies and treats. Take your time exploring and ask questions--it's worth it! Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention the place was extremely clean.
