Taqueria Don Pepe

Called in for pick up. Order was fast and easy. Line was long to the cashier to pay but service was fast. They had two self serve salsa bars with to go cups- clean with fresh condiments. Best burrito spot. Burritos aren't skimpy, meat wasn't salty and packed with flavor! A must whenever we stop by Fresno - it has to be the one on Blackstone though. Wish they had one in Sacramento!

There is something to be said about the authenticity of the food catered by any restaurant, and it's authenticity you can taste. It's the place where locals go to get a "taste of home", it's the place where locals go because it's what they truly call, "food". It's what I imagine Taqueria Don Pepe represents to so many living in Fresno. While the take on tacos and burritos are slightly different from other authentic Mexican joints I've experienced from Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Bay Area, the flavors are unquestionably authentic. The charcoal flames meats, the bite your tongue off spicy sauces, and the chewy flavorful tortilla, it all comes together the way it was intended. Delicious and hits the spot. While the meats selection are expansive, Don Pepe covers the essentials, and they're all good. The restaurant is a mall, I mean small, little spot with limited inside seating and outside seating. Its atmosphere just screams, order and go eat!

I went here with a friend on a Friday around 1:20pm and there was about a 10 minute wait. It was during a holiday weekend (Black Friday), so maybe that's why there was a wait on a weekday? Anyways, most of the tables were taken by the time I was there, but still managed to get a table.We got the Asada Super Burrito, Asada Super Nachos, and a Taco Pollo (chicken taco). The food tasted a bit burnt, which I wasn't a huge fan of; maybe we were unlucky that day? It was still good though and I liked how cheap it seems for the amount of food we got.I'd recommend this place, but maybe don't go during their busy hours. The food was still good even though it tasted a bit burnt, but I feel like if the food was cooked right after a grill cleaning, then maybe the burnt taste wouldn't be there.

11/29/2024 ordered super nachos asada, pastor taco and super asada burrito. Everything was very good with large portions. They also gave me 3 kinds of salsa from mild to hot. I love the hot salsa

You'll always get your food fast which is good, they have great horchatas too. I like their pastor burritos but they're just okay, nothing special with the tortilla or meat.

One word: shrimp. Burrito, tacos, combo plate. You can't go wrong with the mariscos from Don Pepe.

Authentic Mexican restaurant. The burritos are so good. I always get their chili verde burrito and it is always so consistently tasty. Tried their shrimp tacos one time and it was very flavorful. Service was quick.

I came here around 11 to pick up a burrito. It was so busy! Line never died down. The chili verde burrito is filled with chunks of pork, beans, sliced avocado, rice and cheese. Huggggeeeee burrito!Prices are low $9 for a burrito and $2.50 for a large soda. Definitely recommend and will return. I'm trying the shrimp or carne asada burrito AND octopus taco next time!!!

Great food! Service is fast, Best burrito spot. Always a great spot for any day of the week.

Spicy shrimp burritos are the best in all of fresnoPlace is kinda small so seating is very limited but service is fast. Definitely recommend for a party of 2 or no more then 4
