Tamari's is one of those hidden gems that we always seem to forget about because it's tucked away in the corner of the shopping center--out of sight, out of mind. But every time we come, we have an amazing experience! The servers are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and everything we order is always fresh and delicious. The sushi and spicy tuna are outstanding, and I absolutely love the katsu chicken entrée. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and the food comes out impressively fast. It's a shame we don't come here more often because we really should! Tamari's is definitely worth remembering.

Unless you have several hours to dine, and would like your steak and rice to be cold once served, avoid this establishment. The service was kind upon arrival. The hostesses are kind and attentive about your table being ready. We had a reservation for a large party at 7 PM on a Saturday, admittedly a very busy time for any restaurant. The restaurant is upscale looking and prices match the upscale vibe... including a mandatory 20% gratuity for parties above 6.The food was cold and arrived 1 hour and 40 minutes after we arrived... accounting for around 15 minutes to order, that is still over an hour for our food, during which we were given no soft apologies or reassurances about our long wait time. The kicker was the food being ice cold. Obviously this does not include dishes meant to be cold, like sushi. Steaks, fried rice, and a salmon filet... all ice cold. If you thought it wouldn't get worse, upon asking for food to be remade or at minimum reheated... we were told that it was an extra 20 minute wait for fresh (??) rice.I do not enjoy leaving bad reviews. This is literally the first one I have ever left. But this was an embarrassing experience. To promise your family a nice meal at a moderately expensive restaurant, be charged a fair price, and receive such an experience, is pretty shocking. It's not wrong to be very busy. It's wrong to make so many mistakes and say "we don't know what went wrong" when confronted by paying clients. Why would anyone allow their business to be run like this?

Whew! Rough pumpkins!Waited 15min before our server even visited our table. Lots of empty tables btw.Old fashioned came out with crushed ice that stood above the glass rim. I guess you approach it sideways. Had to ask for a remake with the singular large ice cube people expect in an old fashioned. Had to ask another server twice for soy sauce for our sushi & waited more than 15 minutes after our food was served to start eating because we prefer to have our soy sauce with our sushi and not as a post meal pallet cleanser. Complete lack of concern for our table. Now I remember why we stopped coming here. "Would you like another round?"No thanks, I'm not going to drop 16-20/drink to be talked down to by a server that doesn't know whiskey or beer. Off to the dive bar next to our house, better old fashioned - better company.

Came in on a Saturday around 6, with no reservation. There would be a wait if we wanted to sit for dining, so my fiancée and I opted to sit at the sushi bar-- and I'm so glad we did.Richard, the sushi chef took care of us!Habani Tuna. It consisted of crispy rice topped with spicy tuna, jalapeños & cilantro leaf. The crunch of the rice with the ratio of the spicy tuna and cilantro leaf made each bite have a good kick, and so flavorful!Three wishes. In: salmon, tuna, yellowtail and cucumberOut: crab mix, tobiko, green onion, spicy aioli, teriyaki sauce and wasabi aioli.WOW. Such a good roll, the fish not only appeared fresh, it tastes delicious. The 3 different fishes in the roll was jammed packed with flavor.Fresh water eel, 4 piece.Unagi is always a good choice, the presentation was not only appealing it sure was tasty!A5 Skewer- 2 piece. Wow!!! A must try! Definitely a quality you can taste. Each bite was a sweet buttery flavor!Blue fin Akami- 4 pieceRichard mentioned they just received the tuna, and we asked for the lean piece. The sashimi came out thick, you can see and taste the freshness! Salmon - 2 pieceRichard presented us not only the 2 piece, but surprised us 4 spoon bites of salmon -- so flavorful, so good.FujinanaExcellent way to end dinner, the ice cream, caramel & chocolate ratio with the cinnamon crisp was delicious!I also had the lychee martini-- so good, my fiancée got the old fashion! The experience, service, and food was top notch. What a great dining experience!

Probably one of the best sushi restaurants in all of Fresno. Excellent fresh cuts of fish, delicious signature rolls with their own sauce. They even have omakase style where you pay a set price and allow the chef to make his own creations made just for you! Other Japanese cuisine options include ramen and udon soups, an extensive whiskey bar and signature cocktails offered. Great ambiance, great service, quick, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely be back for the sushi.

When I think of Fresno, Japanese food usually doesn't come to mind but this place surprised me on how good the food the tasted. The collar was overcooked but the hot mama roll was good. My boyfriend had the ramen and he said it was decent.

Our first omakase experience was amazing thanks to our sous chef who catered to our preferred tastes and our server who gave us great drink suggestions! We tried the 12-course omakase and it was definitely filling. All of the courses did not disappoint. They also gave us the bread pudding for dessert at the end, but the bread was a little over baked/hard to eat. Overall, the flavors were good and we'd love to come back to try their other menu options. We went on a Monday night and there were plenty of seats open, but you need a reservation for omakase.

I came to eat some good sushi and I was amazed on the selection and quality of the food. I ordered the Chiriashi bowl which is my go to favorite and it did not disappoint. It was packed full of butterfish, octopus, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, tomago, seaweed salad, roe, white rice, furikake, avocado, daikon, shiso and skimomo. Could have used more Seaweed salad and avocado but was still amazing. I was there on a Tuesday evening at 5:30 and there were so many tables open and it was very quiet which I liked. The tables are a little high but maybe they just make it easier for people to eat with chopsticks? The lighting at the table was pretty blaring like you were giving getting the third degree but overall the decor is nice and elegant. The service was great and the parking was plentiful in the lot. I definitely coming back.
