Steve's Pet Shop

Really used to like this place but the smell from caged animals has become nearly unbearable that I can barely shop without wanting to gag. I think the staff has become nose blind to it. My eyes water the entire time in there and I hold my breath as much as possible while shopping, which I'll likely do less of now because I legitimately cannot handle it. This is not "one cage needs to be cleaned" bad it's like "not a single cage has been cleaned for months" bad. It did not used to be so horrendous and there's the same amount of small animals as before, so it's a cleaning issue.On the bright side, if you're looking for a groomer Rosa is top notch! 5/5 for her. I won't likely shop here until it gets cleaned but I'll continue to take my dogs here for grooming.

This is the most well liked and awesome place to go shop and have a great time with staff and owner's (Steve and Kristin) you couldn't meet a more beautiful and wonderful couple and knowledgeable and fun loving staff who have a passion for animals and livestock and to those who care for their animals. To the moron/s who gave this place a bad review in the past 19 hours and 15 days ago. You are beyond laughable and pitiful. Get a hold of yourselves and shop online if you can't stand a bird out of it's cage and the open sign being switched off DURING THE TIME OF CLOSING. Perhaps AMAZON PRIME or CHEWY.COM is more your speed.

We bought fish tank, fish and lots of supplies. My fish keep dying and all they do is sell you more garbage that doesn't do anything except take more money!

We stopped by one day when our usual source was out of sweet cob. The young men were very polite & helpful. The cob price was very reasonable as well.Now, we go to both feed stores as we enjoy giving our business to both & it's extremely convenient when we are in Oakhurst.I understand they recently expanded to include livestock supplies so we're lucky!I appreciate, too, that they are always polite & friendly.

I drove 45 minutes to get hay because I like to support small local businesses. Online it says the store closes at 6:00pm. Regardless, I walked into the feed store at 4:55pm. There were three employees standing by the register. I was told they already closed the gate and couldn't sell me hay. When I questioned the time, they replied that they had no control over the mistake online. When I told them I desperately needed hay and would settle for one bale, I was refused. I returned to my truck and noticed the clock read 4:58pm, and yet they had already pulled the doors closed. They just lost a regular customer.

Had my dog Ellie May groomed there and I have never seen such an amazing and professional pet dog groomin. the price was the best I've ever seen. The young lady that groomed our dog was simply amazing. I would recommend her to all dog owner.

people complaining about smell have never stepped foot into a petsmart/petco! was only interested in seeing the animals, and was in awe the whole time!! they all look extremely excited, especially during feeding! franky was a fav, please say hello to him when walking in!!

Bought a cardboard cat carrier to use to deliver a kitten as a gift. Something was wrong with the cardboard and the kitten only got half way in and the carrier ripped apart. I don't know if the cardboard was previously water damaged or just very cheap materials. If you bent it slightly it would Crack and break. Anyways took it back. The girl at the register was nice and agreed that the carrier was garbage. She got the manager and he wouldn't refund or store credit. I go in there once a month to buy my chicken feed and supplies for my chickens. Not anymore. I will never go in there again or refer them in anyway. 18.00 dollars and wouldn't work with me at all.

I wouldn't shop here again unless it was an emergency. The employees didn't know their products and they didn't seem to be interested in helping either. There may be some people there who are more interested but they weren't there today.

Great prices and great service! The owners and all of the workers have always been very friendly and informative. Everyone is very knowledgeable about a variety of pets and animals. We met Steve and Kristin (the owners) by being patrons of their business and when we go to their shop now it feels like we've been lifetime friends! When my husband passed away earlier this year Steve and Kristin both took the time to come to his funeral to pay their respects and support our family. That was so unexpected and thoughtful, it proves that they sincerely care for their customers. Our family will always shop and support Steve's Pet Shop!
