Love getting the food here. Ordered asada nachos and they were delicious. Service depends on the time of day. Usually 2 women helping and place was nice and clean.

5/11/23 Really nice grocery store! Greeted by many. Good wine selection! Got a Pinot on sale. Then checked out the bakery and they have chocolate covered strawberries and a lot of other goods. Asked for two. Then I went to La Cocina and thankfully, there was a great customer that spoke English and Spanish. He translated for me. I got a spicy chicken burrito with extra hot sauce. He was great and the workers were too! I paid for the burrito and then I had to go to checkout to pay for the strawberries and Pinot. The workers were very kind at checkout. Lunchtime! Oh my goodness! The burrito is HUGE! I had half and it was really fresh and delicious! Lots of flavor! Spicy chicken was tender and really tasty! Authentic, great tortilla!Great guacamole and hot sauce too!Great burrito, service and store! Impressed! Highly recommended!!

State Foods in Sanger is a solid choice for basic groceries and some surprising finds in Sanger---yes, you can't get everthing you could get at the Sanger Walmart or driving down the 180 to Target in Clovis, BUT, if you are local to Sanger or passing by often, it's worth the stop by. I've always had pretty fast check out service here (no self-checkouts) even during busy times of day. I haven't tried any of the hot foods they sell but the bbq outside always smells so good! I have tried the new sushi they have brought in from Kintsugi Sushi (delivered fresh daily from a locally owned and operated company) and it is so good! I hope they continue stocking their rolls, platters, and super delicous poki bowls! We also love the made-in-store pico de gallo and guac---those with their house made chips are a must for any gathering. You can get big tubs or small containers. Have found some great bottles of wine here too. A huge selection of freshly butchered meat of all types, seafood. Overall, a solid grocery store that serves it's community well.

This is a regional chain throughout the vast CA Central Valley. However, as per their website, only the Sanger location has the in-store tortillería, cocina, & panadería. This means that you can get fresh made tortillas (made by hand, they'll give you a sample if you ask or if you just look intrigued enough by the process they use to make them, you might be offered a sample), fresh made tortilla chips, a wide selection of hot plates, & a great selection of sweets & breads, also made on site. You can also get all the regular grocery products you need plus specialized Latin products. If you ever been to Chile, they have sopa Maggi here which is powdered soup that reminds us of Chile. My husband has visited enough times that the supervisor of the hot foods section calls him, "jovenazo" (young man) & remembers him well. We love to come here for their Latin products (Sopa Maggi, Te de Boldo, Helados mexicanos, tortilla chips, etc & their delicious beef stew.

They need to work on consistency. One day it's clean with fresh produce, fresh meats and the best tortillas. Then on another day it will smell like old chicken blood mixed with fabuloso. I've had them sell me rotten meat before. Be warned, Speaking Spanish is a must here, Otherwise you'll receive poor customer service. Today I'm writing because my son ordered a tamale and inside it had a cooked fly!!! Yuk! Thank goodness he saw it and didn't eat it.

My husband and I needed two items and dashed over just before their 9pm closing. It was 8:52. When we got there a girl at the door opened them about 6" and said "we're closed" I said we only needed two things and she shook her head no. I told her it wasn't 9:00 yet and she said "we're closing early tonight". Guess I'll never see what all the good reviews are about because I won't be going back.

My family stopped by the store after a soccer game to pick up a few items. We smelled and saw some good food cooking. Ordered the three taco asada combo and it was so SO delicious! I highly recommend this small Mexican food kitchen. The best!

Worst customer service. Most of the cashiers never smile or greet you. The owners don't do any better either. They tend to overcharge for products and don't even apologize for their mistake.

Tried to order a cake and I got someone who didn't speak english who didn't understand what I was trying to order. She gave the phone to someone else who put me on hold to look up what I was trying to order and then I was disconnected. I called back again and was put on hold again for at least 5 minutes and then was given a price. Before I could ask if I had to order it he hung up on me. Very poor customer service.
