Spectrum Gallery

Only art gallery dedicated to photography in the valley. Not to mention the first.features photographers from the valley. Some have been published internationally and have worked with famous photographer like Annie Leibotz.Definitely a gem that is overlooked. A must visit if you live in Fresno and are interested in photography. Friendly people.

Only 2 stars at this time because they are not open regularly during the week.Only open Fri, Sat and sometimes on Thurs.They are not staffed during the week because that is a volunteer position and perhaps their membership cannot support keeping the electricity running.

I have been to this photo gallery many times for many years. The exhibits have always been presented in a professional and attractive way. Some of the exhibits have included the original works of world-famous photographers who have chosen to honor the gallery with their participation. You'd usually have to go to a large city gallery to see their work. There are some great local photographers as well, who call Spectrum Gallery their home base. Come in during regular hours in order to really appreciate and enjoy the exhibits.

Small, quaint gallery. Came during ArtHop and it wasn't overly crowded at the time, so we were able to meander through the pieces that were displayed. We didn't care too much to sift through the pieces that were laid in piles along the side.I commend the gallery for having a finger foods and beverage station set up inside. They offered complimentary cheese, crackers, chips, desserts, both red and white wine, and water. Be it as it may, with the recent hygiene scare, I was weary of the table and chose against partaking.Then arose the biggest issue with our visit here. A very obviously homeless man entered the gallery and made his way to the table and helped himself to the provisions, which made me wonder where the gallery's staff was, or did they just not want to confront him? Needless to say it was extremely off-putting and we quickly decided to leave.
